The Book of Mormon is a Satanic Trap. It looks a little Biblical becase Joseph Smith plagiarized 25 chapters many verses and many of the historic accounts given in the Bible into his book, with some attempts to make them bigger and more dramatic. Joseph Smith identified the very obvious females, figures 2 & 4 on page 41 of the Pearl of Great Price, as men. King Pharaoh, and prince of Pharaoh. Every egyptian source is in total agreement that these figures are the egyptian godesses Isis & Maat.

If you think "Mormon" means devil or gates of Hell... then Moses. would roughly mean Eastern Devil. The issue with this is MO has about 32 different forms in the Chinese language. They all sound similar but are not. You are replacing one for the other to get the outcome you want. So if you think that Mormon means gates of Hell then Moses in the chinese bible means Eastern devil.

@Sk8er408 First, Jesus is God the SON, not the Father. In His incarnation, Jesus had a physical body, but the Father never has. Second, Lucifer is a CREATED being, Jesus ISN'T. Lucifer was an angel who rebelled and became Satan.

So Jesus is not one with the father? If Lucifer is a son of God and Jesus is the Son of God... you put two and two together. The difference is lucifer rejected what he is. Jesus did not. The angel's of God or children of God... it is the same.

Jesus is one with the Father in *nature* (they're both God), but not in *person*. He's no less God than the Father, but there is a functional hierarchy within the Godhead. Lucifer's never called a "son of God" in the Bible, though. One difference between Jesus and Lucifer is that Jesus was not created, Lucifer was (as were we). We're "children of God" in the sense that we're His creations, but don't share His deity.

@Sk8er408 Sorry you don't believe in what's called the "Trinity," "Triune God," or "Godhead." While it's anyone's prerogative, those who reject it do so at their own peril. Obviously, the Father is God, but in Hebrews 1:8, the Father calls the Son "God." In Acts 5:3-4, the Holy Spirit is called "God." Compare this with Deut. 6:4, "the Lord your God is one." The Hebrew word "one" (echad) is a *compound unity*. Three persons, one God. One can't reject this and call themselves a Christian.

@Sk8er408 If Mormon theology states that God the Father is a literal, physical man, and Jesus was His firstborn spirit child, then Lucifer, then us, there's a vast difference between this and Biblical theology, which states that God the Father is spirit (John 4:24, Luke 24:39). Lucifer was created *as an angel*, not a spirit child. Humans aren't angels; we didn't exist until conception, only Christ preexisted (Exo. 3:14; John 8:24 & 58). Hope that helps.

Actually, sk8er, Jeremiah 1:5 isn't about preexistence. It's about God setting people apart before birth for ministry. In His omniscience, He already knows what His plans are for us before we're conceived. We exist only *in His mind*, not actual being. Some also erroneously see this verse as proof of reincarnation. The Hebrew word "know" (yada) implies a special relationship of commitment. This verse is about *preordination* to special ministry, not preexistence.

Regarding Job 38, let’s step back and look at the big picture. Job is a book born of pain. God gave Satan permission to take everything from Job but his life. Job wanted to die. Job began questioning God’s character and ways. Job 38 is a monologue from God chastising Job for that. "The sons of God shouting for joy" is really just a passing mention by God of the angels of Heaven rejoicing over God’s creative hand at work as He crafted the universe. Satan never had a "birthright."

The Book of Mormon also locates the hill as the site of the last battle of the Jaredite nation centuries earlier, although the hill was then called Ramah by the Jaredites. O.K. so these metal plates that have religious ideas on them are found and are 6th 7th century B.C. in origin as are the claims that the civilizations in the BoM existed at the same time and the significance is that the BoM civilizations wrote on metal plates as well.

Yer on the right track. In the Prophet's day this was ridiculed and he was laughed to scorn over such an atrocity as writing on metal. It was just too funny for words, since NO ONE *ever* had done so, hence it simply MUST be his contrived, overworked imagination occurring. Then along comes archaeology over the next 150 years and shows, without question, that the ancients right back to the same time and place as Nephi lived, actually DID write on metal! It's pure bonus as far as I am concerned.

At the end you seem to overstate the correspondence between the ideas on Orphic Tablets and the Tree of Life in the Book of Mormon. The white cypress of the Orphic Tablets is not a"Tree of Life." Instead it marks a spring that should be avoided by the initiate. The initiate is to continue to another spring that flows from the Lake of Memory.
