it's kind of funny in a sad way, that all those that hate or ridicule those of the lds faith call themselves christians. Even as our saviour was lifted on the cross, he did not show any hatred to those that did it.
The Book of Mormon is a Satanic Trap. It looks a little Biblical becase Joseph Smith plagiarized 25 chapters many verses and many of the historic accounts given in the Bible into his book, with some attempts to make them bigger and more dramatic. Joseph Smith identified the very obvious females, figures 2 & 4 on page 41 of the Pearl of Great Price, as men. King Pharaoh, and prince of Pharaoh. Every egyptian source is in total agreement that these figures are the egyptian godesses Isis & Maat.
Oh, I'm sure you can...as well as remnants of the planet Kolob, to be sure. Not to mention the gold plates that say the word "Mormon" means "gates of Hell" in Chinese.
LOL... You are so far off... Ignorant propagator. Language lesson for the swine.
Mo is the word you are trying to say means Hell... but in Asian languages there are many ways to say it.. Long or short (time) or hi or low (pitched). The sound is similar but not the actual written letter or Chinese character, it is different. Swing and miss. fail thanks for playing.
Way to show your true colors by propagating propaganda that is at best a poor jab by a butthurt old man.
@Sk8er408 Butthurt old man? Who's that? I may be older than you, but I'm not old, and my butt is just fine, TYVM. I really *was* wondering where Zarahemla was, where the horse skeletons and coinage were found because history tells us that horses and coinage were unknown before Europeans arrived in the Americas.
No they don't. You have been reading silly anti-Mormon literature. I have a friend who knows Chinese and he has soundly, and I mean SOUNDLY refuted this silly argument. No cigar amigo. Come up with something significant and accurate next time.
@TheBackyardProfessor The silly "anti-Mormon" lit you're describing was published by a little organization that calls themselves "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints." Perhaps you've heard of them. Except it's not silly, it's spiritually dangerous, especially when it says such things as Jesus and Lucifer being spirit brothers and that the Father has a body of flesh and bones as tangible as man's. How's that for accurate? It came right out of my D & C. It's also unbiblical.
You *SHOW* me which LDS literature says Chinese means "the Gates of Hell" as you pretend. You just go right ahead and show me. Don't tell me, hell I can tell people anything I want. Try this one on for size. Zarahemla means "anti-Mormons arguments are lame." What I want to see from you is the EVIDENCE from LDS literature. Hint: Decker, the Tanners, and other anti Mormons do NOT equal LDS literature.
@TheBackyardProfessor Missionaries to China, and Chinese people I know (one of whom called the Mormon Church "Devil Church"). I never said LDS literature said Mormon means "gates of Hell." Don't put words in my mouth. Decker, the Tanners, and other "anti Mormons" didn't publish "History of the Church," "Journal of Discourses," "Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith," "Doctrine & Covenants," "Book of Abraham," "Times & Seasons," "Millenial Star," etc., etc., etc.
If you think "Mormon" means devil or gates of Hell... then Moses. would roughly mean Eastern Devil. The issue with this is MO has about 32 different forms in the Chinese language. They all sound similar but are not. You are replacing one for the other to get the outcome you want. So if you think that Mormon means gates of Hell then Moses in the chinese bible means Eastern devil.
Way to use half truths and show that you are a follower of satan.
Sorry... but Jesus (who the trinity calls the Father) says "Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have."
Jesus and Lucifer... Lucifer is also a child of God... son of the morning... Isaiah 14:12 If not God's son then whos?
@Sk8er408 First, Jesus is God the SON, not the Father. In His incarnation, Jesus had a physical body, but the Father never has. Second, Lucifer is a CREATED being, Jesus ISN'T. Lucifer was an angel who rebelled and became Satan.
And can we dispense with the name-calling and arrogant "swing and miss...fail thanks for playing" crap? I didn't call you a " diaper-clad snot-nose," did I? If you REALLY want to have a dialogue, great, but not if you're going to act like a middle schooler.
So Jesus is not one with the father? If Lucifer is a son of God and Jesus is the Son of God... you put two and two together. The difference is lucifer rejected what he is. Jesus did not. The angel's of God or children of God... it is the same.
Jesus is one with the Father in *nature* (they're both God), but not in *person*. He's no less God than the Father, but there is a functional hierarchy within the Godhead. Lucifer's never called a "son of God" in the Bible, though. One difference between Jesus and Lucifer is that Jesus was not created, Lucifer was (as were we). We're "children of God" in the sense that we're His creations, but don't share His deity.
@Sk8er408 Sorry you don't believe in what's called the "Trinity," "Triune God," or "Godhead." While it's anyone's prerogative, those who reject it do so at their own peril. Obviously, the Father is God, but in Hebrews 1:8, the Father calls the Son "God." In Acts 5:3-4, the Holy Spirit is called "God." Compare this with Deut. 6:4, "the Lord your God is one." The Hebrew word "one" (echad) is a *compound unity*. Three persons, one God. One can't reject this and call themselves a Christian.
@Sk8er408 Oh, wasn't putting anything in your mouth, but the Godhead and the Trinity are the same thing, just different names. And you said you don't believe in the Trinity.
All right then...it's either Joseph Smith or Christianity. Both can't be right because Smith didn't teach Biblical doctrine.
But it's been good talkin' to ya, sk8er. It really has. I mean that.
@Sk8er408 If Mormon theology states that God the Father is a literal, physical man, and Jesus was His firstborn spirit child, then Lucifer, then us, there's a vast difference between this and Biblical theology, which states that God the Father is spirit (John 4:24, Luke 24:39). Lucifer was created *as an angel*, not a spirit child. Humans aren't angels; we didn't exist until conception, only Christ preexisted (Exo. 3:14; John 8:24 & 58). Hope that helps.
I understand that Jesus is YHWH i do not disagree. But Jeremiah 1:5 shows that we did exist before conception
Lucifer son of the morning Or morning star son of the morning is what this says
Job 38:7
When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?
Who are the sons of god here? I see this as the morning stars... or if you see it in the hebrew culture of first born or birth right and then the rest of the sons of God.
Actually, sk8er, Jeremiah 1:5 isn't about preexistence. It's about God setting people apart before birth for ministry. In His omniscience, He already knows what His plans are for us before we're conceived. We exist only *in His mind*, not actual being. Some also erroneously see this verse as proof of reincarnation. The Hebrew word "know" (yada) implies a special relationship of commitment. This verse is about *preordination* to special ministry, not preexistence.
Claim what you want... but the children of God sang and praised God in heaven... You know who the children of God are now dont you? If you dont... that would be you and me.
@Sk8er408 MORMONS WORSHIP FREEMASON SATAN............NOT THE HOLY CREATOR OF THE BIBLE...SATANIC MORMONS EVEN WORSHIP LUCIFER WITH THEIR MASONIC SYMBOLED BLACK MAGIC UNDERWEAR, FREEMASON ,ALBERT PIKE SAID THAT THE MASONIC GOD WAS LUCIFER, MORMONS IN FACT WORSHIP JOE (WHOREMONGER) SMITHS SATAN INSPIRED VERSION OF JESUS.......
Regarding Job 38, let’s step back and look at the big picture. Job is a book born of pain. God gave Satan permission to take everything from Job but his life. Job wanted to die. Job began questioning God’s character and ways. Job 38 is a monologue from God chastising Job for that. "The sons of God shouting for joy" is really just a passing mention by God of the angels of Heaven rejoicing over God’s creative hand at work as He crafted the universe. Satan never had a "birthright."
@wannawatchu66 Come on man, those are arguments too ignorant, which I don't respect, I respect Richard Dawkins even when i don't agree with him. Anyways, I respect you, go find the truth at mormon.org.
another thing on the whole Mormon means gates of hell in Chinese... by this logic... Moses would mean eastern devil. So next time you read your bible... remember that the Chinese bible names Moses Eastern devil.
Why is there not this big hate movement to get rid of Moses out of Christianity because in all reality he is an eastern devil?
So .....um....BackYardProf...where is Smith's Stone box? Is it still buried somewhere in a remote hill in Manchester NY? Got a shovel? Go dig it up, that will satisfy your problem immediately. : )

O.K. so these metal plates that have religious ideas on them are found and are 6th 7th century B.C. in origin as are the claims that the civilizations in the BoM existed at the same time and the significance is that the BoM civilizations wrote on metal plates as well.
Yer on the right track. In the Prophet's day this was ridiculed and he was laughed to scorn over such an atrocity as writing on metal. It was just too funny for words, since NO ONE *ever* had done so, hence it simply MUST be his contrived, overworked imagination occurring. Then along comes archaeology over the next 150 years and shows, without question, that the ancients right back to the same time and place as Nephi lived, actually DID write on metal! It's pure bonus as far as I am concerned.
