  • nice sunglasses little girl

  • nice glasses on the driver of the blue balt cute hahaha

  • They only produced 2,537 Cobalt SS's in 2009.

    120 of those are yellow.

My car is 1 of 120.

Info provided by GM tuner source.

  • @N3CROKiLLA33 theres a reason they didnt make alot of yellow just like they didnt make alot of shit brown and puke green.

  • no tune with a 2.8 and 75 shot the car must run like crap the CPU thinks the car is fucked up. plus for what it has done seems weak i have a similar set up, 2.8 pully @ 19 psi, cai, 75 shot, full exhaust, 60lb injectors. dual pass with heat exchange and HP tuner custom tune and i destroy TC cobalts. a tune can increase your power and increase the most from your Nitrous system. u should be pushing bout 320 to 360 whp with right tune

  • do yourself a favor.

    step on your sunglasses.

  • Looks like the TC was coming back at the end, b4 the vid was shut-off... lol

  • You really were on a 2.8 im assuming #60 injectors, stock exhaust and a 75shot and you didnt get tuned? Not smart

  • GOT MY RACIN GLASSES BRO

  • @Tommylooooo LOLOLOL

  • fags with beaters and white sun glasses lol

  • Ok they are heavy cars with even heavier wheels what do you expect?

  • Ok, Even untuned. Cobalt has a learn down mode in the computer allowing you only to push a limit of 11-13 psi. I own a ss/sc I know this I'm running a 2.8 pulley. A Tech at GM is my best friend. A ss/sc shooting that much nos should of left the TC regardless of tune I'm shooting a 50 shot myself. Please...Learn facts and more important learn to drive your cars....This video is quite embarressing as a Cobalt owner....

  • @Get1337 both should have them stock.

  • I don't understand this how do you do a un-tuned cobalt ss running a 2.8 pulley with nos? It must run bad. Don't you need a tune for the cobalt to run good with a lower pulley?

  • HAHAHA THE TYPICAL SLOW-BOLT DRIVER. they all got those same glasses i swear

  • Has either one of these guys heard of RPMs?

  • it's not necessarily the piston you gotta worry about although you can burn through them or melt them but what usually happens with juice is people over spray 75 shot on a 200 hp motor is like 38 % hp increase which is getting up there run it for a year then tear it down and put some rods in it or your gonna put one through the side of the block after too many runs. nos is a drag racer tool and racers rebuild their motors runnin juice on the street never ends nicely, just one more run. boom!

  • nice goggles

  • AHAHAHH look at the face of the guy inside the cobalt

look poor with a poor car and poor dress poor glasses.

But think and try hard to be cool.

    ahahahahahah pathetic

  • nope white sunglasses are for a fuckin jersey shore queerbag or a female and he looks like he qualifiys for both, all he needs is an affliction T-shirt and a popped collar to fit his ego

  • i LOVE to see two Cavaliers battle it out..

  • and another thing...just causse ii have white glasses on doesnt mean they are girl glasses tool...and u can suck my dick

  • @00transam7 Idk know , telling another dude to blow you while wearing feminen shades seems very gay to me . Thumbs up on the cobalt though .

  • okay the blue cobalt is mine....for one THE SC WAS SPRAYING NITROS!! i have a turbo back and a tune...thats it...so fuck you.

  • i guess i am a fan boy since that is what i own. i have ran alot of ss/sc with nitrous i have had my far share of losses. i am saying this ss/sc in this vid im pretty sure i would beat because one the driver of that ss/tc doesnt know what he is doing behind the wheel. i am still sure that ss/tc doesnt have 330whp.

  • both are fuckin slow

  • untuned?

    are you joking?

    2.8 = 16-17 psi and a shot of nitrous on stock tune....ouch.

  • its just not completely tuned...he has 60lb injectors and its on a rich base tune

  • im sorry but i am not bashing the SS/TC but i you dont have 330whp. Sorry. If you do that is really bad., you will serioulsy need a driver mod. I made less power and i would wax that SC.

  • Yea it's not making 330

  • i seriously doubt that..... you do know that a shot of nitrous into boost about doubles the the shot to the wheels (75 shot of nitrous into boos = roughly 130whp gain, give or take 20whp) so if you take the supercharged cobalts hp and add just the minimum hp the nitrous would give (approx- 240+110=350) so if you think you are going to wax a minimal 350whp cobalt with less power then his 330..... you are more then likely wrong....

  • Comment removed

  • You seem like a fan boy of the ss/tc. I'm not here to say that you would or wouldn't beat that exact ss/sc that's in this video, but I will say that the ss/sc responds extremely well to nitrous. You nor I know whether or not you would "wax" or get waxed by that ss/sc. Go look up some trap speeds of ss/sc's with nitrous and you will be surprised. ET's don't count because most of the cobalt community can't launch their cars if their life depended on it

  • @bcshardhitter7319 just a tune can put the ss/tc right around 330whp .

  • @Joelit121 Maybe on a really happy dyno it would.

  • @idiotfieldmouse eh, hang around css.net. some good info there.

  • @Joelit121 I used to...name's SweetSandMan on the forums. Learned all my tuning from Terminator, BYT, and IamBroke on there. I haven't gone on in a couple months because I'm done modding my car and looking to get rid of soon enough.

  • @idiotfieldmouse what are ya looking for?

  • @Joelit121 Not sure yet...I'm fighting with myself trying to decide if I want something more practical (new WRX or used Audi S4)...or if I just want another toy...which would probably lead me to an 06 GTO. Either way I'm done with my FWD fun days. I've had too many and I want to try something different. Not that this car isn't fun and fast, but I'm just bored with it.

  • @idiotfieldmouse ah, s4's are really nice. But I would go with a GTO and mod it.

  • @Joelit121 Yeah that will more than likely be the route I go and then look into getting a new Fiesta or something small, practical and really good on gas for a beater

  • @idiotfieldmouse wow. i can honestly say i feel the exact same. i dont want my SS SC anymore.. FWD sucks, even tho the car is decently fast. and Im thinking either new STi (hatch not sedan) or used S4. id really like an RS4 but they are wayyy too much. AWD for winters....goin rallying

  • @07SuperchargedSS Have you ever looked into rallying? That's easily the most expensive race type for any amateur to get into because you WILL do damage to your car. I mean I'm not trying to turn you away from it I'm just forewarning you that taking an Audi S4 (or any car for that matter) on a true rally circuit will end in a very large bill multiple times. But yeah FWD isn't bad, I'm just done with it...I've had enough front runners and I want to try something new. I'll miss the 'balt though :)

  • @idiotfieldmouse no i dont mean legit rallying lol i just meant fuckin around in the snow with buddies. hahaha ya i watch the WRC and i know the shit those cars go through and wouldnt even think of putting a car I own in that hell. my buddy has a wrx and thinks its funny that he can drift around me while I try to rock myself out of the snow when I get stuck. its winter more than half the year here so i need either a truck or AWD car. and trucks are slow and stupid.

  • fucking owned

  • nitrous ftw

  • tell your boy in the blue to switch down gears before going it gets a better jump!

  • Either that or learn to brake boost :)

  • turbo is better than supercharger

  • Who actually thumbs downed this? You're fucking morons.. Turbo is MUCH better than a supercharger. Period.

  • Not in every application. Supercharger gives alot more low end power, with a nice flat torque curve. In a road coarse with alot of turns that require slowing down I could see the S/C being better. For top speed, turbo. The turbo may be more effiecient, and be better overal, but it's not better at everything.

  • no its not turbos need to spool up superchargers dont

  • yes

  • Dude in turbo cobalt is wearing chick glasses, loses to an sc, and doesnt no lift shift the bitch. I bet a race from a dig would result in both you nubs stalling em out.... fhags

  • I see 15psi, used to see 18 until I did my header. Let me magically up my boost to put it back at 15. You'll learn if you ever get that cobra sc cars can't just up the boost.

And one last thing, if you or anyone else wants to see what a TUNED cobalt with my exact mods does, check out username cbodnar on streetfire. You'll see him beat up on a 370awhp evo 9.

Joe, good runs. I thought you were going to pull me to be honest. I'll run again after I tune it but until than no dice it's too risky.

  • lol thats funny... whatever i just need to make my car a lil faster thats all... give me like a week or two and we will do it again lopez lol....

  • pistons cause a drop in power??? yes because shops do forged internals to loose power. Myabe if your cars only at 15psi you loose power, try throwing some more boost at her and see if you loose power over stock internals.

why would you do forged pistons if you loose power?? weird.....

  • To be reliable so you can make power in the future? It seems nobody ever understands this concept unless they actually build a motor themself.

  • @punkblinkchild13 Cast pistons are the cheap pieces for low-performance vehicles and can even be used in n/a mid-performance vehicles. Hypereutectic and forged are a wash, they both have advantages and disadvantages. Don't make the mistake of thinking that forged are "better". Hypereutectic pistons will always make more power then forged, all things being equal, because of their thermal properties.

  • @punkblindchild13 Hyper pistons can also handle detonation because of those same thermal properties. They are better able to absorb and transfer heat (detonation, preignition, and plain old horsepower) than forged pistons. They are also harder than forged and can take a harder beating without denting/wearing down (simply, they are stronger than forged pistons). The downfall of hyper pistons is that they are brittle and therefor when detonation occurs beyond what they can absorb, they break.

  • @punkblindchild13 If you avoid detonation hypereutectic pistons can handle ridiculous amounts of power, more than forged pistons can handle. But when detonation is thrown into the picture forged pistons come out on top because they are softer and will dent, deform, bend, melt etc before they outright break. Hypers will break like glass under detonation but under normal combustion they can handle a ton of power. Hope this clears things up.

  • you have a fully built cobalt ss spraying a 75 shot and barely beat a turbo cobalt with intake exhaust and a tune. thats pathetic.

last i checked a 2.8 pulley on cobalts were making about 17-19psi of boost.

your only on 15psi because your car is "un-tuned" so you say.

never heard of anyone building a motor, doing injectors, (with that right there you need to re-tune) 2.8 pulley, pistons, header, and spraying.

if its not tuned thats just your stupidity

  • How does tuned or untuned affect boost on a roots blower? Damn sure it DOESN'T. The car is on 15psi, stock pistons or forged, it's still 15psi until he changes the pulley.

For the record, his "tune" consists of injector scaling (so the car runs), retarding timing from stock, and attempting to dial in a/f with a tailpipe sniffer on a catted stock exhaust. That my friend is what I consider, UNTUNED!

  • i'm confused i ran 13 or 14 psi stock when i still had my ss/sc why are you only running 15 with a 2.8 pulley? one of my friends has a 2.9 and he boosts 17....

  • @punkblinkchild13 If you tuned it you'd definitely be pushing an extra 25-40 with those mods

  • better pistons = more boost = more power....period.

  • can't adjust boost on a blower car without changing pulley size. I've been running the same pulley which makes 15psi ever since I got my car. and for quick reference, boost on s/c cars is a measurement of restriction.

Forged pistons actually cause a drop in power because they expand less. Not much of a drop, but a drop none the less. Do more research and come back.

  • if a car is running aftermarket pistons the motor is considered built. You actully took stock pistons out and "built" a new motor with better pistons.

And yes your right pistons dont add HP they give you the advantage to run more boost, and in this case nitrous. With stock pistons with high boost and nitrous a motor will gernade.

  • hmm didnt know 15 psi was high boost.

  • pistons do not make an engine built

  • they will never understand....

  • Boosted cars don't like heat period, but S/C's especially small Eaton M62 roots blowers hate heat even more since they make PLENTY on their own.

  • o i didnt know that. i need to do some more performance stuff to the car. any ideas on what i should do next?

  • TC cobalts run better when they're hot proven to make more power. SC cars heatsoak way more than the TC.

  • r u crazy??? turbos need to be cold not hot! i have a tc my self and dam right i need o be in a cold weather to run good, i live in FL and the heat now is nasty and my car aint runing good..

  • get an innercooler, and methynol injection.

it will help keep youre air positive

  • My car runs 14* timing. That's less than stock! Block isn't built either just pistons.

  • yea and it was like 85 degree's outside lol. my car was running hot as hell! i dont know if it makes a difference or not but whatever lol

  • haha yea a supercharged cobalt with a built block, supporting mods, and a 75 shot barely beat a turbocharged cobalt with TBE, intake and a tune.

s/c cobalt still has to have a base map in the car in order to run a 2.8 pulley, maybe its not fully tuned but it deffinetly has a base map.

  • Does that surprise you? It's rare to see a S/C ever beat a T/C, and when it does you complain? I'm quite confident that not even base timing, coupled with a dead rich map (Tailpipe sniffer with cat(s), way to go TTP), and being funneled through a 2" exhaust with both resonators, stock muffler and stock ungutted cat(s) does NOT help. There's more power on the table... this was the car's first shakedown run on spray. And last I checked, pistons doesn't qualify for built :)

  • Nor does being "built" add power. It adds safety... so if you want to consider the cars pistons as a "safety" advantage then shoot for it! Even though what's being done right now can be done on stock pistons, not pushing the envelope.

  • this my cobalt......good race

  • if he was untuned with those mods his engine should be blown and he should be slapped.

  • Untuned as in no timing advance and running rich as fuck. The car has diamond pistons and all proper supporting mods. So slap yourself :)

  • shut up, ill slap you for being so stupid.

  • first time i seen a sc beat a tuned tc... is it trifecta or hahn... or local shop?

  • The TC is tuned by TTP (Tune Time Performance)
