  • Wonderful! A few tidbits about this recording: the pianist is Achron's younger brother, who accompanied Heifetz for 10 years. The piece as you hear it here is actually Heifetz's shortened version of Achron's original, which was twice as long. Heifetz and Joseph Achron were very close friends; Achron dedicated several works to Heifetz, including two violin concertos, and Heifetz is said to have played (if not recorded) everything Achron wrote for the violin.
