@zAdrenalizedGamingz Sadly, this is the downfall to WLMM. you cant remove the audio from a video you made in lets say, Fraps. This is the reason there are so many people that are disappointed with WLMM. I miss the Timeline feature...

@vikki961 Find out what part you want to get rid of. Next, use the split tool at the very beginning of the part you want deleted, then do the same for the very end of the section. After you do that, all you have to do is remove your unwanted section from your video.

Select the clip and then go to Video Tools: Edit. On the left hand side of the toolbar, you will see something that says "VIdeo Volume." Click that and lower the volume till it mutes. I'm not sure if there's another way, but this worked for me. :)

This program is total crap. Giant leap backwards from the original. Why is it not possible to have the audio in the video separate anymore? To do this, you have to extract the sound in a separate program an put it where the music track is supposed to be and therefore you have to do your sound and video editing in many runs with subsequent loss of quality.

This is probably the most stupid move in the history of microsoft. This program is free, because it's worth noting.

You have to add music in the project to have music tools. It's apparently impossible to simply split audio from the video. I think the old mover maker could do that though. It's very disappointing that the newest version of Windows Movie Maker is actually less useful that it's predecessor.

You desperately need to make some changes to this software. I've never seen an "upgrade" come out so drastically WORSE ever in my life. What I need:

1) I need the narration feature back

2) I need to be able to separate the audio from one clip so that it can be played over a different clip

3) I need the option of adding more than one audio track at any given point in the video

4) I need to be able to play two different clips at once in a divided or quartered screen

if you have problems with WMML do what i did KLITE CODEC pack Check your version by Trying to install version 7.0.7 UPDATE It will say your version is 6.9.0 FULL Delete it It will ask you to restart Download KLITE 7.0.0 FULL. Custom Install Make sure you Check mark all video and all audio when asked Then Update with 7.0.7 Then try to use WMML Before it took forever to render or would freeze, had issues spliting files, now it works perfect for me Try it and comeback and thumbs up this comment!

@jolka77 just export the audio of the video you want as a sound file, and then mute the original video and put the audio you want under it, now you can move and edit it as you would like.

@jolka77 well there are alot of ways to do it, windows live is not one of them though haha. you can actually get this free program called any video converter and it can convert any video you have to basically any format you want, wav, mp3, .mov, etc. and with that all you have to do is drag the video you have and then export it as either a wav or mp3 file and then there you go. personally, i prefer windows movie maker a hundred times more than live but thats just me.

So with windows live movie maker you don't seem to be able to individually change the volume levels for each clip.... there's just one slidey bar to determine how much audio you get from the videos or from the audio track.... THAT IS SO RETARDED. aggghhhhhhhh

@Minidrags You can change the audio for a clip fro the "video tools" menu on the far left. If you'd like to have audio change throughout the clip, you'll need to use the split to too separate the pieces and then adjust the volume for each. Hope this helps!
