Brainwashing? I am actually experiencing all of this. I am a Hungarian from Szabadka(Serbia). Hungarians are beaten up on a daily basis, and the police doesn't do crap. I know some young people from Romania and they tell me that the same thing is going on in Kolozsvar, or Nagyvarad.

They speek a very old dialect of Hungarian language (before the neology), we used to speak centuries ago... This dialect is similar to the Sekler Hungarian, but Seklers live close to other Hungarian People in Transylvania, and Csangos live in the ring of Romanian People for a very long time. So they have learnt the modern words from the Romanian neighborhood. And I think you also know about the assimilation politics of the communist Romania. That's what make them forget their dialect...

They are not Magyar and they are not Romanian. You are talking about preserving their culture but you come over to teach them Magyar and thus make them forget their dialect. In my grandmother's village still live some old csango, very kind people.These people consider themselves Csango and not Magyar like the Seklers. Let them be and stop spreading hatred in their community.

Dude, there is no such thing as csango language. They are hungarians, and the only reason that they dress, talk differently is simply cause they live in a different region.

The Csango language is an archaic form of Magyar which has developed on it's own. I am not talking from hearsay i grew up with this ppl. Their taditions are diferent also. Why should one have to change their language under the pretext of improving it? I agree that they should have schools in Csango but not in Hungarian as this way they will loose their language. They have been living in their places since at last 500 years and they are fully integrated within the community.

Man nobody wants their dialect to disappear. On the contrary. We want them preserve it. It is the romanians who want to assimilate them, by not leting them use their own languege at church, and by banning hungarian from schools. You probably got the wrong picture. Where are you from?

Neamt county originally. Who said that they shouldn't have their own schools? The majority are catholic so it's a small problem with the Romanian Catholic community which refuse to grant them service in Hungarian. Dunno why.

Well students are banned from church if they take hungarian classes. If you don t belive me check for yourself. Dunno why?? Because the romanian government wants to assimilate them. Just like Ceaucesku.

Buddy what does the government have to do with the church? This is not Iran man relax. The issue is that the teachers of Hungarian language are usualy extremists and teach hystory of hungary alongside the hungarian classes and we all know the controversy that ensues there. This silent war began when the seklers had the ideea that the csango areas should become autonomus. this generated a wave of speculations and paranoic responses from within the csango comunity and of course the romanian one.

Some of the csango have been offered money to go study in Hungary and when they return they have a very diferent attitude towards romanians as well as revolutionary ideeas which disturbs the balance that existed since 500 years or so between the moldavs and them. Look, we moldavians love the csango and so do the hungarians i suppose. But the way things are going some of them will become Hungarians and the rest will not want to be called csango anymore as they'll be ashamed.

Man you got this all wrong. You are talking as if hungarians were the extremists. Hungarians are beaten on the streets in Romania,SErbia,Slovakia. Have you ever heard of the Serbian radical party? THe Greater Romania party? The Slovakian shovinist party? None of the kind exists in Hungary. You have no idea about csango-hungarians. They are not a separate nation. They are Hungarians. Try to live with that.

Buddy i transited Hungary many times and found that the ppl are very nice and not at all what i expected. I suggest you do the same exercise and visit Romania to see for yourself. Don't believe all the stories you hear and never generalize based on single incidents. You think we are extremists and we think you are-LOL

The old people speak hungarian. the middle aged understand it, but don't use, The young people can't speak hungarian at all. Why? Cause it is banned from school and church. And since they don't need it, they don't use it. Exactly what romanians want.
