  • nice try but nobody can deke like datsuk. check out granlund's attempt vs sweden. even he can't do it

  • Soon as that net comes off the Moorings, whatever happens afterward doesn't count... Geez, not only do they screw up Interference calls (which is too broad of a rule anyway), but they blow this blatant one too.

  • i wuz there when it happened...

  • good call

  • shit nice goal

  • Ok, just so everyone knows, the puck was going in either way, if the net was off or not, the rule states that.

    SHUT UP AND READ

    Thanks :)

  • @x30xSabresFan But, if and when the net is removed from its holders and original position the play is imediatly blown dead even if the puck, "was" going to go in, it must be in.

  • @djshibbz If the net comes off of the posts, and the shot was already taken, and the puck goes past the goal line, where it would of been "legal" if the net was there, its a Goal.

I remember that because I ref as a job (Canada is where Good payment is btw)

  • @x30xSabresFan you're on glue, are you a house league official?....A shot is taken from the other end of the ice and then the net is pushed into the corner, according to you, if the puck crosses the goal line where the net would have been it's a goal??? You must be on glue

  • @whoisstingy If the net is taken off, As the shot was already taken, meaning in mid "flight" and it goes in where it would have with the net in place, Its a goal if the net was taken off accidently.

    Go read the rules.

Wtf is up with you and glue?

  • @x30xSabresFan No. The player's right skate nailed the mooring and knocked the net off BEFORE the puck even left the ice.

  • Here is why the goal counted for all you people who really don't know the rules. YES the net came off... we can all see that however he had beat the goaltender any way and shot the puck before the puck cross the goal line. GOOD GOAL!

  • that was actualy a sick move

  • @NYR1926 yea dude and go RANGERS lol

  • what happened the goal counted?

  • and if you don't beleive me look in the ECHL official rulebook on page 103 section 63.6

  • why is two legged horse in suggestions...

  • that was such a filthy move

  • it was still a pretty dirty move..

  • Must have been a Russian ref.

  • there isnt enough advertising on the ice

  • @rockerseven nah in some places there is only a miximum of 1meterx1.5 meters of white ice at a time

  • @rockerseven I agree. Way too much white.

  • I agree. not enough ads. need more ad rape.

  • Wow, at first I was saying to myself "Oh boy, ANOTHER bad call video that thinks it's the worst one." This REALLY is a candidate for one of the worst calls!

  • !!BRUINS!!

  • regardless of whether the net came off or not, he beat the goalie clean...In the spirit of competition it was a goal and the ref got it right...Just like the Brett Hull goal against the Sabers for the Cup winning goal...I don't care what the rule says or if his toe was in the crease he beat Hasek clean.

  • i think he got the goal simply because it was an outrageous move.

regardless of whether or not it shouldve counted... it was an awesome deke.

  • Everybody has to stop nagging on the ref! Ok he made a bad call, get over it, does a Goalie get nagged this much if he makes a mistake? And no one takes in the concideration that he/she is at a different angle, maybe he saw the puck go in before the player hit the net?

And its not that refs job to Tell if the puck stoped/went backwards, its the other ref (other side)

  • @x30xSabresFan Not all mistakes are equal. The mistake the referee made here is NOT like a goalie making a mistake by allowing a goal.

And the angle excuse you came up with is bullshit. Referees are trained and required to watch for these kinds of things. If he's going to explain his mistake by saying he was at a bad angle then he's admitting incompetence, which is just as bad.

Oh and BTW, refs CAN face repercussions for making such blatantly bad calls, sometimes by demotion or even being fired.

  • @LordDisQo Yes but you do know their are 2 Refferees on the ice right? And they both can over rule each other with evidence? Look where he is, not where you are, at the time of the goal the ref was at a wierd angle, he was BEHIND the player. Now you get down there and tell me its alittle more difficult, have you reffed? And I mean for something with accual speed? Its not easy to get every call right, refs are human so there is human error, And he could be fired, if this WERE Blatantly a bad call

  • @x30xSabresFan Are you serious? No matter where you stand, you can EASILY notice the net getting knocked off. Furthermore, he is responsible for being in a position to make proper calls. Even if his position was a valid excuse (which it's not), then he made a mistake by standing in the wrong spot to properly observe the play.

And this is the ECHL. They employ only ONE referee for games, not two. Shows how much you know.

EVERYONE knows how bad this call was, except you. Says a lot about you...

  • @LordDisQo he never saw the net come off. Ive talked to him. He was so focused on the puck to where he didnt notice the net come off and b/c the other 2 linesmen were not in a proper position to see this they couldnt help him and now they actually changed ps procedures to where the back linesmen now stands at center ice instead of between the benches. Everyone makes a mistake. do you think hes happy w/ this. they still made the play offs by 1 point so i dont see why everyone still rips on this.

  • @LordDisQo lol demotion

  • i don't care about the call, that was a great move lol

  • i'm not a fan of the rule in this case because he wouldve scored if it was moored but it wasnt and the rule is there so it's no goal

  • lmfaoo

  • nice deke

  • even if the player didn't hit the net, the puck appeared to be brought backwards enough to call it dead. bad call. must have been kelly sutherland.

  • It would have been a sick goal it the net wasn't knocked off

  • @oilersman95 But this is not a regular goal, look under penatly shots. I had a situation like this in the game. Shoot out, goalie ACCIDENTLY knocks the net off. I should have awarded a re-shot. The Rule you are commenting on refers during the game. In fact, if you read on in situation 7, it clearly states "...mooring, except under Rule 4.9 (b) - Penalty Shot..." Case and point. The proper procedure is to stop play immediately and order a re-shot. Also read situation 1 for Rule 10.1.

  • I'm going to make a educated comment.

Section 10 of the Hockey Canada Rule Book (most rules here are the same and universal in all leagues of hockey) Rule 10.4 states that "Any goal scored, other than covered in the Official Rules shall not be allowed." Situation 7 of this rule states that "No goal is to be allowed if the goal off it's mooring whether or not the goal was deliberately knocked from its mooring" Correct call: No goal.

    - A Hockey Canada/ Alberta Official

  • that was a nice move by the player. never see it before

  • i was at this game bullshit call.. it was about the second time they pushed the net off

  • @TheRedman206 you guys are so clueless its been a rule since the lockout if the net gets knocked off the mourings and the puck goes in where the goal post would normally be,its still a good goal

  • @xlxRAPT0Rxlx that was a terribly blown call you are correct that a goal can be awarded but only if the goal is displaced by the defending player, in this case the individual taking the shot is the one who disloged the net and therefore it is a no goal

  • The net was of for like 3 seconds before he shot. that no goal!

  • thats a goal!! wtf?

  • No matter how the net get moved off, it;s no goal.

  • was it also scored inside the crease?

  • you cant score after the net is moved. terrible call. he also slightly interfered with the goalie.

  • @Finalflash50 Bad call, but he did not touch the goalie though...

  • @XXDemonXSlayer13XX Yeah re-watching it I noticed that. Bad call.

  • lol this is a bad call. player moves the net, and gets the puck in after the net is off. horrible call XD

  • Coz as sey....

  • That was so not a goal.

  • worst call ever: i scored and it went off the netting on the top inside of the net. everyone stopped playing including the goalie and he called it no goal... i was fuckin chapped

  • the skater was also behind the goal line.

    Least legal goal ever.

  • i love how some idiots argue over someone else's opinion?

    like isnt it an opinion?

i understand the disgussion, but name calling and stupid little things like that are called "trolling"

sometimes, especially in Hockey vids, it just gets out of hand

  • i'm not sure about the net coming off. in my opinion it should not be a goal, but i don't know the rule. however, it should not have been a goal because clearly forward progress stopped.

  • Goal

  • great move

  • no goal.. but a hell of a move

  • @stevio321 yeah, for sure. retard

  • anyone calling this a goal just straight up knows absolutely nothing about hockey and if you play, do us all a favour and quit now

  • That's a goal! Great call!

  • Who cares if it should have counted or not, that was a sick move.

  • Still a goal

  • @cwellington54 ur dumb

  • for all of you guys who think this is no goal, you dont know much about hockey, therefore must be americans... if the net never moved the puck still would have went in and its up to the refs discretion.if there was an empty net chance and the puck was going straight in and a defensemen purposely pushed the net off its pegs ( this situation wouldn't really happen) it would still count. fair goal the net moving didnt effect whether the puck went in or not, this player undressed that goalie anyway.

  • yo its his signature move, give him a break...

  • What a fucking idiot obvously it's not a goal

  • god what an awful call. player hit the net before he shot, no goal. enough said

  • thats a goal and a sick one at that!

  • i know you can't stop forward motion so (regardless of the net situation) does that count from a motion perspective??

  • at 12 seconds puck is on stick and net is off

  • the ref is allowed to decide. the player clearly beat the goalie and was going to score completely within the rules of a shootout since there is no direct rule against the act of the shooter knocking off the net the ref is allowed to call a good goal for a shooter who had the goalie clearly beat and put it square in the net. the net had nothing to do with whether or not the goalie could make a save yall are retarded.

  • According to the ECHL rulebook, the attacking player maintained forward progress as outlined in rule 24.2. (not exactly a spin-o-rama, but the same intention). Goals are allowed during play when the net is dislodged by the defender as outlined in rule 63.6. The problem is, the attacker dislodged the net. This exact scenario is not addressed and therefor is implied that this is NOT a goal. Again, rule 63.6 only says its a good goal if the defender dislodges the net.

  • If this happened in the NHL, it would be NO GOAL - Net off moorings. As this isn't the NHL, I don't know about this.

  • this is actually the right call in a way.. i'm not sure to rules in a shootout tho.. so...

  • Go Nailers :) I got nothin to lose

  • r u an idiot the net was way off b4 he put the puck in

  • that was a bad call

  • Really doubtful if it was in...

  • Depends on the league rules. Some leagues rules state that if the net coming off had no impact on wether it was a goal or not then the goal stands. Others state that as soon as it is off it is dead. Different leagues, different rules. Plus forward momentum WAS kept throughout the play. The only thing I can think of is that this must not be too strong of a league since it looks like they have beer league pegs in the net to keep it from moving.

  • That would have been a sweet move if he hadnt knocked the net off.

  • Hey REF!!! Are you pregnant? Cuz you just missed 2 PERIODS!!!!!

  • hey everyone here saying its a good goal you are crazy... if the goalie takes the net out then the ref can decide its a goal if the opuck would ahve continued into the net. in this instance the PLAYER takes out the net, thus no goal

  • GOAL! It went in before the goal was loose!

  • Comment removed

  • how is this a good goal?

the player moved the net the goalie didnt.

  • If an attacker knocks the defending net from its moorings without being forced by a defender then play is whistled dead and a goal, if scored, is disallowed. The ref blew the call.

  • WE WANT THE NAILERS IN JOHNSTOWN!!!!!!!!!

  • @FlyersBIATCH You people really need to read. The entire damn league reviewed it and the goal was NO GOOD. The ref was all but fired.

  • @Aggort you cant fire a ref for making a bad call, if he continually makes bad calls I guess.

  • @Aggort it is no goal net was off wayyyyy before in

  • @Aggort You don't get fired for a bad call, Do Goalies get fired if they have a bad game? No

Why should the refs be any different, They call what they see on the Ice, you have a better angle 99% of the time, he might be seeing something different from his angle.

Maybe it looked like the puck was in before the net came off? You don't know

  • @FlyersBIATCH typical flyer dousche... dont know the rules. lol but u keep thinking your right and dont look up the rule cuz thats just what u tards do lol...

  • @FlyersBIATCH how isnt it a bad call he knocked the net off before he shot the puck you ass licking cum target

  • @FlyersBIATCH Yea it was ... the net was off before the puck was even in the net.

  • @FlyersBIATCH The net was off before he shot YOU RETARD... therefore no goal. flyers suck

  • @FlyersBIATCH you obviously dont know shit about hockey if you think thats a clean goal. The player moved the net with his body before he took the shot....Therefore no goal. If the goalie would have moved the net in this case, the goal would have counted.

  • @FlyersBIATCH this is a bad call learn hockey before u talk bud

  • @FlyersBIATCH he can't skate back, its a hockey rule

  • @James76012 Well I'm not sure about this league but if it's the same as NHL the player can skate backwards so long as the puck continues to travel forward. Looks to me like the puck stopped moving towards the goal line and it should have been disallowed.

  • dude.... he was in the crease, AND KNOCKED THE NET OUT OF PLACE WELL BEFORE SHOOTING IT IN THE NET....

  • @FlyersBIATCH lol are u blind or u god some shit in ur eyes damn

  • @FlyersBIATCH come talk to us after u know the rules of hockey

  • @FlyersBIATCH dude how can you even call yourself a flyers fan, net comes off play is dead, end of story, net is off before shot is released

  • @FlyersBIATCH you have no idea about Icehockey rules don't you?

  • Good call. Good goal.

  • it's agood call. the net was moved that doesn't matter in this situation. it doesn't impair the goaltender, who was already beat.

  • pause at :12 and all questions will be answered

  • I remember this. There was so much trash on the ice after that call. Now they have a ref and a linesman watching the shooters now.

  • no fucking goal. the puck reached the net just after the player moved it

  • i was there that night all hell broke loose. defiantly the worst call in hockey history!

  • If you look, the player shoots the puck UNDER the goalie, IMO, goal

  • @mr0zip0 the goalie didnt knock the net off. the player hit it it his leg. you need to get ur eyes checked or somtin

  • It's the wrong call but it's not a huge deal of a wrong call or anything. I had to watch it twice to realize what happened and the ref doesn't have that luxury.

  • that is a bad call, skater moved it not the goalie. Ref u suck, ref u suck, ref u suck!

  • Problem is the player moved the net, not the goalie.

  • @Aggort

it doesnt matter. if the net was moved incidentally, the ref can decide whether it would have gone in had the net not moved (this would have) and can rule it a good goal. You basically only get it if the net was knocked off in the motion of the shot. The missed non-call here came before the goal. The skater stopped his forward momentum then took the shot.

  • @SilentStryk07 Rules depend on League and as far as I am aware the moment the opposing player comes into contact with the net it's ruled dead. The player also took the shot on a MOVING net thus not allowing the goalie proper defence. When the ECHL reviewed this they came down on the ref hard.

  • @Aggort ah that makes sense. i've become too used to the NHL rules.. guess i'll have to make my way to some K-Wings games next year

  • @Aggort what i seen. it also looked like the player was passed the red icing line before he shot the puck.

  • @SilentStryk07 he didnt stop forward motin though. he spun into a backward skating position in the exact same trejectory never actually coming to a complete stop. so he never stopped and it would have been called a goal all the way. there were no objections

  • @SilentStryk07 This IS a bad call. At least for NHL standards. I dont know about other leagues rules, but in the NHL, the rule is if the net gets dislodged before the puck goes in, it is no goal PERIOD. It doesnt matter how the net comes off its moorings, but if it does before the puck goes in, no goal.

  • @SilentStryk07

You are wrong, according to NHL rules, that only works if the person who does knock the net off is on the team that gave up the goal.

  • @SilentStryk07 uuhhhhh, nooo. if the nets off the nets off simple as that and its no goal, it was a great move and he kept forward momentum the whole time.

  • @SilentStryk07 Hockey Canada Official Rule Book, Rule 10.4 (h):" Any goal scored, other than covered in the Official Rules shall not be allowed." Situation 7 of this rule states that "No goal is to be allowed if the goal off it's mooring whether or not the goal was deliberately knocked from its mooring", Period no discrepancy there.

  • @buua19 problem is we dont play by your imaginary world rules. if the net is moved its just like regular play NO GOAL and NO RESHOT

  • @buua19 what r u talking about the player is the one that moved the net not the goalie and if the puck was in the net before the net moved then its a goal but the net moved first then the puck was in the net so noo goal

  • @buua19 No, no, no! Under Hockey Canada rules the instant the net if off you blow the play dead and order a reshot! Rule 4.9 Situation 17. It says that if the net being dislodged is accidental, immediately award a re-shot. UNLESS the puck went into the net OR the shot was complete before the net became dislodged.

  • @JesseFC101 Not exactly, this deals with the goaltender dislodging the net, if the player does it a different rule applies, Rule 10.4 (h) see my comment above.

  • BS the shooter hit the goal with his leg

  • Oh it is very hard to catch, especially at my angle. I was so pissed cus it was my 21st birthday!

  • No he wasn't and that was the problem. On our local news that night they had a replay from behind the net and the ECHL ruled it as well stating it was the players skate.

  • Is that Auger reffing?

  • that could have been a sick move

  • he entered into goalkeepers area first with his skates (can u do this in Canada by the roles? ), afterwords he fired that puck by him displaced net which is goal must be disallowed !

  • Holy shit that ref should be fired. OUT OF A CANNON!

  • Towards the sun.

  • i am a nailers fan that was a bad call it was ruled a goal because ref pointed down at the ice

  • Somebody tell me- was it RULED goal or no goal?

To me it is NOT A GOAL.

  • @noex100 it was ruled a goal.

worst call i've seen in a ECHL game.

that ref wasn't allowed to officiate in wheeling for the rest of the season..

  • It was ruled a goal, and as far as the rest of the season goes as far as I know he wasn't allowed to ref this season either. A big reason why, he had so many people outside wait for him and threaten him he was afraid they were going to hurt him!

After the video the crowd went insane and began throwing items onto the ice! It got ugly!

  • my question: did the puck go in before the player ran into the net? Nope. Then it's no goal.

  • i remember this game. this is the game where everyone in wesbanco arena stood up on their seats and through something on the ice. curtiss darling went after the ref... directly after the game, greg puhalski(coach) followed the ref into their locker room. intense game!

  • forward motion all the way, but net was knocked off well before puck went in by SHOOTER! Should not have been allowed.

  • usually on videos like this, i would defend the referee. I just can't here.

  • lol, goalie got undressed bigtime.

but that was a horrible call, net was off,

& he was behind red line

  • red line doesnt matter. Only the puck cant go behind the line. the player can. I dont wanna defend the ref, but that goal was going in whether the net was knocked off or not... However, that was pretty bad. If the goalie had knocked the net off, then yes, it's still a goal, but the player did! He should get an extra penalty for ebing so damn stupid when he already had the goal!!

  • Maintained forward motion, but jesus christ, how can you let that go.......

  • either that was a right sick move, or the goalie for the other team just sucks major dick to get undressed that bad....

  • frynew: not even remotely close to how a penalty shot or shootout attempt is called

  • what a retarted ref the net was off...he was prabably looking at his boyfriend in the crowd

  • yea thats pretty bad

  • LOL that ref is out of his mind.

  • clearly he knocked the net off before scoreing, although he coulda score without knocking off the net :P

  • You think that's bad? Take a look at when the ducks played the Red Wings. That was a playoff series. THAT was a bad call (as was this one).

  • lol your fucking blind thats a no goal lol

  • lol no goal
