i use Sony vegas with setting: Field order > progressive Scan and deinterlace method interpolation and result is better then this video... many people wrongly set field order and then frames makes ghosting or bifurcation. Or After Effects is good, but more complicated for someone.

I also have the XR520 and I love it.

I have uploaded a couple of vids myself of low light footage.

YouTube does not do this camera justice at all. Worth every penny!

As some says sony cameras and this camera especially will support softwares only sony vegas is that true? v cant use any other softwares to edit the film when v use sony HDR-XR520 is that true? please clarify my doubt... am in big confusion to buy sony HDR-XR520 or Nikon d 3100... @JayaseerlourdhuraJ , the Nikon is a great DSLR not a HD camcorder.

The still pictures from the Sony are ok but not DSLR standard so horses for corses mate. I have used Pinacle Studio with the footage from the Sony and it works fine but I do use Vegas as I prefere it.

Does this play back perfectly on your computer or hd tv 8truelife? im getting latency delays + small screen disruptions even though the actual image quality is perfect. Im considering buying this camera, any idea how the XR520 video quality performs against say... the Canon eos 5d m ll? is the quality difference massively significant or is it worth saving a lot of money and getting the XR520? would anybody say paying more than double for mk II is justifiable? Any replies GREATLY APPRECIATED :)

Only iMovie 08 and 09 support AVCHD, and if you want to load HD's, I think your Mac must be Intel-powered. Hope this helps. : )

For what I want its more than enough... But it can take a sec to focus after fast movement. My main issue has been the file type that the camera produces... (.m2ts). But I've now discovered that Premiere Pro CS4 supports it... So issue resolved :)

I always encode my m2ts into something else more managable. Premiere Pro seems to have a hard time editing and replaying AVCHD on the fly.
