  • Comment removed

  • stfu dude go fuck ur dad -_-

  • @Fruscification you can tell that to john who used a capo when he recorded this song for their album

  • @gally042 Fukin-A man, agreed. Fruscification, your a tool. Change your name.

  • @Fruscification what's the point in calling him a jerk hah? he didnt hurt anyone lol

  • @SweetKooshy sorry i was sick a long time ago

  • Gally it's a good lesson and you make it nice n' easy for us beginners, but, I don't think I'm cut out to play the guitar now. I'm going to get a drum kit instead. Thanks anyway. you rock.

  • are you playing this first time? :D

  • i dont remember

  • this isnt right man....

    make it again:D

  • Hello Gally, just a question, shouldn't the barre chords all be relative to the capo. If the capo is at the 2nd fret, your barre chord is then initially a whole step up, I playd a song with ur theory and it sounded aweful. Can you make it clear.

  • im not sure what you are saying? if you are playin an open formation chord then yes it is relative to the capo, A chord open is 002220 above the capo, if you are playing a G barre chord, you also refer to that as an G barre chord relative to capo, so if capo is 2nd fret, and you play G barre chord it is really an A chord to the ear, but referred to as a G bare chord

  • well the capo basically acts as your 1st finger for a bar chord so it really doesn't matter where the capo is because you cancel it out as soon as you place your finger across all strings. obviously not if you bar below the capo though

  • Good job...once again. I've wanted to play this song for a while. Just a thought...to simplify it even more for beginners that are uncomfortable with barre chords higher on the neck, they can play it as (with respect to the capo):

    D(open) A(open) Bsus2(barre) F#(barre) G(open)

Makes it a little easier, but doesn't sound as authentic. I know you know this, but thought it might help others.

  • hey man, great advice! i appreciate that, i will stick it in the info box, it will help a lot of people

  • My pleasure...glad you found the tip to be useful for students. You've covered so many different songs (300+) in your lessons, it's really unbelievable. I don't know how you find the time while keeping things accurate...

    Keep up the good work.

  • definately, haha i dont sleep as much as i used to haha

  • hey aaron. how do u record ur video cause it looks and sounds great. i have a channel so if u wanna check it out it would be much appreciated.(i use my mobile fone and my accoustic guitar, as a holder between the strings, to record it)

  • hey man, i actually use my digital camera for the video, ill check ur channel out

  • what if i dont have a cappo?

  • buy one lol

  • fruciante doesnt play it with a capo

  • you are right, he does not, this was a beginner lesson which a capo was used because the way he plays it involves much more finger stretching which if difficult for beginners, if you want to learn how he plays it without the capo, go check out justinsandercoe's lesson on it

  • i know how to play it without

and i understand that you were just showing beginners how to play it with a capo

without a capo i find it one of the hardest parts of the song

    nice vid by the way

i never did say that before

  • definately, the intro is definately tough for beginners without a capo, thanks a lot buddy :)

  • in the original studio recording,John is using a capo for the intro :)

  • Hey guys. Frusciante used a capo for the recording of Under the Bridge. The reason why he doesnt use a capo during live performances because staff members back stage gives him his second '62 fender stratocaster that has been tuned down 1 whole step so he could play with out a capo on stage. He does this with Californication too. This is why he plays either californication or under the bridge back to back at most concerts. I know this for a fact because I had VIP passes at Slane Castle in 03.

  • no i mean when u have ur pointer finger on the 7th fret

  • go to my website using the stuff in the info box and the tab is there

  • where do u put your middle finger for the first chord?

  • its a C chord, so second fret D string
