  • Trying to get some really nice punchy Periphery/Tesseract sounds out of an amp. Would you guys say that this amp is capable of said tones?

  • @djentonomicon The 1990 is more of an old-school high-gain sound, but I think that if you turned up the lows and maybe boosted the front end with an overdrive or boost, the 1990 would be capable of bringing teh djentz. :)

  • im new to tube amps, does this run on 6l6 tubes and do all tubes have 8 pins on them ??

  • @keza123123123 Not all tubes have 8 pins, but most common power amp tube designs do: 6L6, EL34, KT66, KT88, 6550, 5881, etc.

The 1990 comes stock with 5881's which is a variation of the 6L6 design. Regular 6L6s can run in the original 1990 with a bias adjustment. The 1990-INFINIUM will run on nearly any octal-based power tube you want.

  • Dude, how tall are you? You make that guitar look like a childs toy haha

  • Is this amp footswitchable?

  • @boxingthestars1 the 1990 is indeed footswitchable! :)

  • That clean channel sounds perfect cranked.. Just roll back guitar volume to get it superclean.

But i prefer much less gain on the lead channel haha! But hey! At least it's there if you need it :)

  • goes up to 11? that really stupid. why not just make 10 louder?

  • @LeaveMeTheFkAlone "...but this one goes to 11!"

  • This amp sounds heavenly for the price. What's the catch?

  • @SnackAttackO1 None!

  • @SnackAttackO1 What's the catch? Bugera means "Made in China" ...I owned the 1960 Bugera head. Very loud head...I used a Marshall P100 powerbrake to tame the beast.

Sadly the transformer smoked up after owning it for a little over a year. I don't play out, never left my home. I don't play guitar every day and when I do it's no more than an hour of trilling and messing around.

To sum it up..These amps are very affordable but not made to last. At least in my own experiance of owning one.

  • @JBL8863 Yeah, but what amp isn't these days? Very, very few, even most marshall's, voxes, and even freaking orange, makes most their stuff in China, only the super expensive models from them are made in the UK. I can't attest to the build quality of these amps, but holy crap is it ever temting. from what I hear they mainly save their money on tubes, but again, you would have to re-tube ANY amp after a year or so of heavy playing, soo...

  • @marviosantos So true that just about all the amp companys have gone the way of global out sourcing manifacturing...

I'm not dissing it, they make a killing in proffit when the countrys that make em pay their people pannys per hour.

I will however say that by doing this the over all quality control has fallen...The consumer ends up getting shafted.

I bought a NEW 5150iii head, made in Mexico...pretty sad considering how much they sell for. The NEW 50 watt version is made in China. SAD!

  • This actually sounds great!

  • "Very nice, you get a nice... (plays guitar)" That explains it all haha. I'm sold. Bugera makes some great sounding stuff. Keep it up!

  • are the infinium amps going to cost anymore than the current amps?

  • @EpicLemurz Hey there! The cost difference is around $50 more than the Classic versions, possibly even less.

  • Comment removed

  • I used a Bugera 1990 Classic for all of the Metalcore stuff I played. Check out my random demo on my page. I'm a horrible player but I think it demonstrates some of the lower end capabilities this amp has.

  • @JeffeiShred Thanks, we'll check it out right now!

  • u started it retard. I just said that's not an evh

  • does that head not look incredibly huge?

  • "this amp goes to 11" :)

  • WHAT CABINET ARE USING IN THE VIDEO?

  • @skraf03 It appears to be a BUGERA 212V-BK :)

  • THAT IS A MUSICMAN AXIS NOT EVH

  • @HolyGfunnies actually its an Ernie Ball Musicman EVH. before peavey endorsed EVH, Ernie Ball did, thus, its a Musicman EVH model

  • @TheFunnyzach the musicman evh had the pickup selector switch under the neck pickup not under the volume knob

  • @HolyGfunnies i own a mm evh, bought new, and the pickup selector is in the same place.

  • @TheFunnyzach google image search musicman evh.

  • @HolyGfunnies k then.

  • @TheFunnyzach I JUST WON IN THE RETARDED OLYMPICS... oh shit lol

  • @HolyGfunnies jeez, its not like i care where the knobs are. i figured the guy in the video would know what type of guitar hes using. ALSO the musicman axis IS AN EVH model. they didnt want to stop selling the EVH model, so they changed the name.

  • @TheFunnyzach

The pickup switch was moved from the horn to down next to the volume knob; The axis also has a body bevel on the back, which the EVH does not; The neck width above the twelfth fret is also slightly wider on the AXIS. Pickups are the same as the EVH. The electronics routing on the AXIS is also a little different. If you look on the back of both and compare, the cavities are different..... Axis is an axis, evh is an evh ok?

  • @HolyGfunnies for the love of god... I DON'T CARE! IT'S A FREAKING GUITAR!!!! SAME BODY STYLE!! ALL CAPS RAAAGGGEE!!!!!

  • what tubes are on ths amp? 6L6's ?

  • @myskull54

5881's. British version of a 6l6. Basically the same.

  • what tubes are on ths amp? 6L6's ?

  • sounds like joe satriani tone

  • can this be good for death metal?

  • @myskull54 Actually, we see a lot of DM dudes go for the 6262 or 333XL. Tighter low-end response good for downtuning/palm muting, particularly the noise gate on the 333XL.

  • "cause it goes up to 22, which is definitively more than you'll ever need"

Reminds me of Spinal Tap. :D is this amp a good choice for fast thrash, when plugged into the 4x12'' cabinet?

  • @TheNehetCZ That sounds pretty well perfect to us. :)

  • im so confused which amp to buy between (1960,1990,6260, 333xl)...all sound good!,

  • @bryanarz Consider what sort of music you want to play first, and then take a look at what sort of tonal versatility you need. Do you need to change tones a lot?

  • @bugera i rely on my pedals for a dirt sound, i just need one that sounds good clean, and can do bedroom levels if needed, just like my Bugera V22

  • has this amp clean channel not crunch please tell me

  • @JohnScorp1 Yes, the 1990 has a Clean channel and a Lead channel. The Clean channel will break up at higher settings.

  • @bugera ok thank you i will buy this

  • i will buy the BUGERA 212V-BK cabinet.

  • Hi! Which one of these Bugera heads do you think would give me the best classic rock sound? AC/DC has always been my main-influence as a guitarist.

    I appreciate any feedback!!

    Vegard

  • @VetoGTR Take a look at our 1960 demo too, Michael dials in a perfect AC/DC tone on that one. Cheers!

  • nice playing!

  • This Music Man is not a EVH. The EVH ones have the 3-way switch in the lower horn. This one is a normal Axis.

  • Stop featuring your skills and feature the amp !!!

  • @ivanbravo347 it might be hard to capture the amps features without playing a guitar

  • Does this or the 1960 have a really good clean sound? and how would you get that?

  • Comment removed

  • @dashizzler If you recently bought the amp and it's less than a year old, you're entitled to warranty service. Sorry you're having a hard time! Is it still in the shop now? DM me more information and I will help you out. Cheers!

  • is that before or after a tube upgrade?

  • @mjr2470 Michael used stock BUGERA tubes in this demo.

  • what cabinet are you using?

  • @smashingauzy BUGERA 4x12 cabinet, the 412F-BK.

  • i bet Nigel Tufnel would be happy with this amp "it goes all the way up to 22" :O

  • @usblinux Yep! It's twelve louder.

  • what are the settings for the high gain part in this vid

  • @DiaryOfAMadfan Gain is on around 14.5 (it goes to 22!) and the EQ is set flat.

  • Holy crap that dude can play!

  • @Smee2000 Yeah man, Micheal Ripoll is no slouch. Check out his website and see who all he has played with! Stevie Wonder, etc.!

  • You guys need to do some demos of mixed power tubes with the Infinium! Like 2 EL34's and 2 6L6's together. That's really got some interesting possibilities.

  • @DJGuitarist4God I like this idea a whole lot! Stay tuned...

  • Hell im sold as soon as I get a little extra cash and a new camecorder.

  • @SonicGamer1991 Nice! Post a vid for us with that new camera when you get all set up!

  • I love my 1990. After I replaced the factory tubes it came with, I was blown away with the tone of this amp. Even at lower volumes the 1990 has tons of great distorted tone. Best amp for the money by far in my opinion.

  • could i get a old school george lynch sound out of this amp?

  • @livingdeadbeat187 Yes! You might also be interested in our 1960 as well.

  • @livingdeadbeat187 Yes! You might also be interested in our 1960 amp as well.

  • Tried one at GC it sounded amazing even through a MG 4x12! It is the JCM 900 I couldn't afford, until now.

  • oh ok, maybe you can just private message me and we can do it there

  • @bugera : hey this amp is good for slash tone??? 1960 versione is better for slash tone??? please reply me!!

  • @hondaorido Yep! This is as close as you're gonna get without knock, knock, knockin' on Slash's door to borrow his amp.

  • @bugera : thanks!

  • Dear Bugera, for your consideration, in making reviews, try demo-ing the amp tones that someone would be buying the amp for- in this review, the reviewer seemed focused on the amount of gain the 1990 has on tap. But that's not the selling point of the 1990. You've got the 333/XL and the 6260/6262 amps that have much more gain on tap that shredders are going to be more apt to buy. When showing the 1990, you should be focused on the roaring "Marshall" tones that it can get that other amps can't.

  • I want a nice tube amp that can play metal without spending to much. should i get the 1990 and if i need more gain just boost it with a pedal, or get the 333xl?

  • will the 1990 work with el34's?

Also, ive seen the 1960 with 2 tubes taken out to play with less power, will the 1990 work in the same manner?

  • @lakerblake Yes, the 1990 will work with EL34's, though it will require re-biasing. You will want to consult an amp tech about running on fewer tubes as it will disturb the bias. There's a pentode/triode swich which can give a similar effect to pulling out a couple tubes, without all the hassle!

  • @bugera Good to know! I have asked around other places and they said i couldnt use them. Just wanted to make sure it wouldnt damage the amp by plugging them in.

  • @lakerblake Also, let's get you in touch with service dept: bit dot ly BugeraSupport ... I'm sure they can help with this...

  • @bugera awesome, how can i get a hold of them?

  • @lakerblake Youtube, strangely, won't allow for a full URL... I tried to type the punctuation with words= dot instead of . slash instead of / and bitly is the shortener... BugeraSupport after bit dot ly.

  • @bugera Just plugged in my new el34's, and surprise surprise the amp will not work now. There is no power at all going to the tubes. I hope my amp isnt damaged now...

  • @lakerblake Sorry to hear you're having issues... Were you able to get re-biasing? What did your amp tech say about running on fewer tubes (as it will disturb the bias)?

Did you try the pentode/triode swich which gives similar effect to pulling out a couple tubes?

  • @bugera I didnt bother with running on fewer tubes, since the amp comes with the pentode/triode switch.

I plugged the tubes in as well as my bias probe and when i turned the standby switch on there was no reading on the bias probe. Took the el34's out and put the stock 5881's in and still nothing so far

  • @lakerblake Ok... let's definitely get you in touch with service... bit dot ly slash BugeraSupport ...

  • nice spanish fly van halen lick at 1:31

  • I own one, for me the lead channel makes too much noise, at home only a VOL 3 and GAIN 6/8 and use the volume of the guitar to drive the level of distorsion for single coil... I think this channel is very bad done like in the JCM 900 not usefull.

Despite the Clean channel is really good for clean and crunch. The global tonality is dark like all amp of the brand.

  • GREAT AMP!!!!!!!!!

  • FYI that's an Axis not a EVH guitar...

  • @racrboy fyi the axis is what replaced the evh model when they stopped producing them

  • great demo!!!

  • can i switch channels from the front panel...with my ..tc electronics g system ??????

  • @Vetof1 Yes, you can. While it will work I'd recommend trying it out in a store first. We've heard reports of minor lag in the switching device.

  • @bugera

    thanks guys ... i´ll do that ...

  • I had this amp for a couple of months and I could not get it to sound this good. It was to thin and I couldnt get any clarity or bottom end out of it. I really wanted to like it, but I just didn't dig it.

  • @LucasCollins93 Maybe it was your guitar, I have this amp, and i know sort of what you mean, it really doesn't like the Hot Rails in the bridge of my strat, but with my Les Paul this thing fuckin rips, and it's not really built for heavy bottom end, This amp really lives in the midrange.

  • @noremac91 It definitely wasn't my guitar. I was mainly using my Les Paul and my ESP. I also used two different Vibrance Guitars which sound godly on any amp and smoke any of the Les Pauls i've ever played! The amp just wasn't right for my playing style. I mainly play Mastodon, Amon Amarth, Opeth, Killswitch, etc... I needed the bottom end. The top end was also way to bright and shrill for me. I guess it just wasn't my style...

  • @noremac91 BTW, look up Vibrance Guitars and you can see those guitars I was talking about. This is actually my fathers guitar company.

  • @LucasCollins93 gotta crank the volume dude

  • @andrewkadar Trust me, I did! I cranked it to very high levels often. It is a cool amp, don't get me wrong. But it just didn't fit my style.

  • @LucasCollins93 Then i guess try the 6262 or the 333xl

  • I really dig all types of music, and I play ALL types of music, but at the same time I like my distortion how bands like Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, and Uli Jon Roth era Scorpions have their distortion. Which amp would be the best choice for obtaining those tones? the 1990, or 1960?

  • @ironsabbath18 i think the 1990 is best for the combination of vintage and modern. 1960 might be a little too vintage sounding

  • got this amp and when it worked i loved it but i dont know whast rong with it its not the tubes or anything like that no one knows

  • Dude, killer sound but that is a AXIS not an EVH.

  • if your going to play that guitar thorw in some VH chords

  • buzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

  • seriously, this video series is baus XD

  • haha, look at his face around 2:49

he's thinking in his head, "yep.. too much gain"

  • @thePlunkett

Is thinking... oh s**t i've missed a note XD

  • Sounds good but too much noise even on clean channel.

  • I cant Wait when you will review amp behind you ;) the V55... im thinking about buying v55 combo. please Play on it ! ;D your reviews are very usefull... its great when I hear more playing and sound, less talking ! Sorry for my eng... Keep it up !

  • Nice, as always!
