You don't need soil. Check out my own video to make your own automated sprouter, which also grows wheat grass spledidly. The constant influx of fresh water keeps mold from forming. Just pull out the sprouts within 6 days.
hello, i started growing my wheat grass 2 weeks ago and only a few have sprouted a little bit. Im using organic compost and the right sprouting wheatgrass as it came in a starter kit from "go green". Im watering it enough, but were not having much sun with it being winter!! is this why ist taking so long or could i be doing something else wrong? how much compost should they be covered with after putting them on top of the compost do u know? thanx
late reply on your comment but. i suggest you get a buld and put it near your wheat grass since its winter and if there by a window the cold might also frezzee the seeds in the soil killing them
Its mostly on the seeds, but also moving up the grass im gonna juice the top and toss the rest. I had 5 trays mold on me, Although they all started strong they ended up molding.
I got mold on my wheatgrass.. Im growin it indoors under lights and i knoticed the seeds are molding after the grass reaches a certain height. Any suggestions should i not use peat moss?
I am sure we don't need to go to extreme RAW or VEGAN diets. Just cut out excess sugar and other carbohydrates will do the trick. Go back some 30 years to what our grandparents ate. Sure there were junk food then, but NO Macers or KFC etc. Fast foods were not affordable, so we ate home cooked simple meat and veg meals.
I grow them in metal trays, not in styrofoam and i never use commercial soil. when you see the commercial wheatgrass, they just look so dense and perfect, but mine is completely home grown in best possible way.
i grow wheatgrass in the nutritious soil and put them outdoor in sun and use drinking water to water them. moreover, i use kelp in it and that's the best way to grow healthy wheatgrass. i don't like to buy them from outside, because, those factory growing wheatgrass are very different. if you guys live in north jersey and interested in my wheatgrass, i'll be happy to provide you that. but i can't produce too much of that, because this is real work.
Wheatgrass juice is packed with nutrients. Wheatgrass itself is a very healthful addition to a smoothie, but it won't chop up fine enough to drink unless you put it in a very high powered blender, such as a vitamix, blendtec, k-tec, waring, etc.
Wheat grass contains a probiotic called L. acidophilus which enhances the immune system. In addition, it has been shown to do the following: * digest food
* alleviate digestive disorders * prevent bad breath * enhance synthesis of B vitamins * improve calcium absorption * promote anti-tumor and anti-cancer activity * improve tolerance and digestibility of milk products * fight vaginitis and candidiasis
Probiotics are especially good if you've taken anti-biotics.
