  • About the how to change the file extension I don't know but it has worked for me this way. I just open a normal windows and go to tools then folder options then I go to the "view" tab, then I look up for the "Hide extensions for known file types" and I uncheck it and hit OK then in the file you'll see the extension and in the file when you try to rename it, it'll select the name but not the extension it could be .rar or .zip, I just select the extension and change it to .ipsw and voila!

  • @TheFlameMaster12 try downloading the 4.0.1 firmware and then download the software, tiny umbrella, i believe this only works if your ipod has been on that version(4.0.1)
