to deny gods gift and refuse something so precious and beautiful as a growing foetus in my opinion, is wrong. as a teenager myself i do think that it is easy to give in to temptation and have sex at a young age, but sex is meant for a purpose, to reproduce new life. i don't believe in birth control and killing a baby just because i wasn't emotionally ready for the responsibility, i believe you should be ready for the responsibility before giving in to temptation.

@harriettewinslow Actually, theres only a few days out of each cycle where a woman can get pregnant, that reduces the odds, and consider the fact that most rapists now wear condoms to avoid leaving dna. Also, most abortions take place because the baby would have been an inconvenience to the mother, far fewer abortions are because of rape/incest. the rape argument is a very poor one and doesn't justify abortion in my book.
@harriettewinslow but you brought up a good point with how girls can be uninformed about this stuff, so maybe the solution to the problem isn't promoting abortion, but promoting education, comprehensive education that covers everything; sex, pregnancy, birth control, adoption, parenting, and abortion.
@davidakadb I know there's people out there that don't like abortion, but I can understand it if a misinformed girl already had sex, gets pregnant, or a smart girl that gets raped and ends up pregnant, and neither girl wants to go through the pregnancy. But yes, we need more of that education you described so kids can learn this stuff when they hit their teenage years to see what they could be getting themselves into. We need more parents out there to teach this stuff to their kids as well.

@harriettewinslow Actually, most abortions take place around 12 weeks. by that point, an unborn baby looks like just that, a baby. It may only be 2 inches long, but everything is there. A beating heart, measurable brain activity, internal organs, arms, legs, etc... That all sounds very human to me, so I do see it as a serious issue.

It's hard to feel a connection with your hubby about pregnancy. They just really haven't the slightest clue, nor do I think they can ever grasp the miracle and beauty of birth. Not saying they won't find it a miracle or beautiful, but we mothers experience it, every ache and pain and emotional roller coaster we endure to give birth to a life that breathes, feels, thinks and learns.... It's just amazing!

@harriettewinslow Actually, theres only a few days out of each cycle where a woman can get pregnant, that reduces the odds, and consider the fact that most rapists now wear condoms to avoid leaving dna. Also, most abortions take place because the baby would have been an inconvenience to the mother, far fewer abortions are because of rape/incest. the rape argument is a very poor one and doesn't justify abortion in my book.

They might even have been raped, or they could have a health problem that causes them or the child to suffer.
