Rather than plant in a city park which is just going to get mowed over and gets you arrested, why not work with public schools to have the kids grow vegetables on school grounds? The elementary school near me has many little vegetable patches the kids plant. After school lets out for the summer they lie untended, but some of the crops make it. Starting something legally to get the younger generation into gardening seems smarter than digging up a public park and getting arrested.

Rather than plant in a city park which is just going to get mowed over and gets you arrested, why not work with public schools to have the kids grow vegetables on school grounds? The elementary school near me has many little vegetable patches the kids plant. After school lets out for the summer they lie untended, but some of the crops make it. Starting something legally to get the younger generation into gardening seems smarter than digging up a public park and getting arrested.

Hey guy let go to the park and play "who can/can’t get arrested today” people like you give people like me job security. I just wanted to say thanks for putting my kids thru college. And I apologize to all those people who were robbed or beaten or involved in a hit and run and the bad guy got away because the cops where dealing with these fucktards instead.

This guy is doing nothing more than making practical and good use of land that would otherwise be left unused and monotonous like your life and kids. How many cops rob, beat, and get away with it while in the name of justice (for fighting the bad guys). oh yes bad guys, right continue your love affair with hollywood and the rest of corporate america. Lastly, your job security is a joke there is no such thing when you are a cop.

Nah i'd be stoked! Though there is still a big difference between my personal (occupied) property and private (unoccupied) property. In the case of this, that happens to be a public space that the city probably owns but isn't making practical use of as you see with all the dirt...

@partenbj unoccupied property is everywhere; from the foreclosed homes, to commercial lots, to city properties that are superficially maintained, to blm land. As for your interests the selfish ones that means shit to me, since that can change any day. @lykopis, senate bill S510 can be twisted in such a way to stop gardening. Think back to the early seatbelt laws. You wouldn't be ticketed, you wouldn't be pulled over. Now the actually hold road blocks just for seatbelts. Biospharms are farming and bartering communities outside the nonsense laws in the US that has organic food grown on every mini farm. well of course you're gonna get in trouble for gardening in a public place, like a park, as it looks like this guy did here. if u want to start a garden do it in an appropriate place, like in your backyard, or on your porch, as long as its on your property and its not affecting nearby residents.
just like some pple shouldn't push things like religion. pple shouldn't push other things like organic gardens.

All across America , people have sprawling lawns -- spend huge amounts of money to keep them up -- when they could use that land for food. They will take away our right to grow food -- If we ARE allowed to have gardens at all in the future -- we will have to sign contracts and probably pay a fee/tax. If you control a peoples food source -- you got them completely by the throat.

@safapresley The clue is in the name, it is a public PARK, that means it is for the public to use as a PARK. If they let this guy turn it into his own garden, it becomes HIS garden and not a PUBLIC park anymore. If someone wanted to go for a picnic, they couldn't because he has dug it up, if someone wanted to go kick a ball around, they couldn't. Use some common sense. I like how he interviews the cop but talks over the top so you can't hear what the cop is saying

I'm no big fan of police abuses, but give me a break. Where has it ever been written that a guy has the right to dig up a public park? By doing so he's just looking for trouble.
