This is an exeedingly rare catch... Most former santa fe yellowbonnets solely have smal BNSF logo on the battery box cover. This is the ONLY time i have seen a large BNSF lettering on the long hood side of a yellowbonnet along with a round BNSF logo on the the nose of a yellowbonnett. Well done
the y210 goes on duty at los angeles at 4:00 pm and they can be in Malabar anytime between probably 6 and midnight but it all depends on alot of different variables, i think your just going to need to get lucky :)
I'm a conductor for the BNSF out of Los Angeles this train is called the y210, "y" meaning yard job. It goes daily from commerce diesel facility to the LAJ to our Malabar yard a few miles away on the Santa Fe harbor subdivision.
Thanks for the follow up. Do you have any idea what time the y210 go into the Malabar yard? I've been trying to catch the train go through the wig wag at 49st many times but so far, I got no chance.
I was in a car with someone waiting on someone to pick up an hered the horn from around the corner some where there. Yea I see it was a good area to foam around there, just might go around there when vecation starts.
Wow! Great shot of the BNSF. Nice composition and lighting. It's almost nostalgic to see the early heritage (1?) BNSF paint scheme. Pretty good length train as well.
Nice catch. I've seen the 2472 before on the San Bernardino Local, plus ATSF caboose on that train before. The San Jacinto Local has used a caboose before.
Thanks. This line is one of five top "hard to catch" locals in Socal.(I think #1 is UP Azusa local) I was very lucky to see both this BNSF and UP local at the same place & same time. Yea, I saw the 2472 @ Arcadia & Monrovia too. It's kinda funny because 2472 is not my favorite unit but have seen few times already.
Where do these crews take their meal and rest breaks during the day?
JetMechMA 8 months ago
@JetMechMA hmmm, I'm not sure. they might have lunch box with them.

Heh. That bluebonnet patch makes it the ugliest mother fucker on earth! Why doesn't BNSF keep their engines unpatched?
socalrailfanner 2 years ago
I agree with u on that ugliest BNSf patch and also on Red/Sliver bonnets.
singwith 2 years ago
wowq weird patch on that 30u
Derailedtrain666 3 years ago

BNSF 210 job.
KcBNSFkid 3 years ago
do you know the timetable?
singwith 3 years ago
I never knew they had fake blue bonnets. Looks like they patched over the Santa Fe letters and cigar band on the front. Strange either way.
BoxcarFrank 3 years ago
I don't really care about BNSF letters. Santa Fe is much better.

so how u like pedro? I havnt seen that caboose but I seen a up caboose in mead yard its in one of my videos
slug96 3 years ago
This is not San Pedro, CA. UP named this line as San Pedro Subdivision and used to run through Long Beach before the Alameda Corridor open.

The40MAC 3 years ago
It was around 7PM. I was chasing UP rock train from Aurant to UP J yard and somehow ended up to UP San Pedro sub. :D
singwith 3 years ago
Yep I was around there at that same time.
The40MAC 3 years ago
