  • Where do these crews take their meal and rest breaks during the day?

  • @JetMechMA hmmm, I'm not sure. they might have lunch box with them.

  • If you get a chance to get to az go up north towards flagstaff and williams area and catch the saligman sub

  • @TheMsautobodyman yea, I'd love to go there someday.

  • This is an exeedingly rare catch... Most former santa fe yellowbonnets solely have smal BNSF logo on the battery box cover. This is the ONLY time i have seen a large BNSF lettering on the long hood side of a yellowbonnet along with a round BNSF logo on the the nose of a yellowbonnett. Well done

  • @7nordic Thanks!

  • hey, we got to meet cause I wanna go and see this :)

  • @aaron316sa It was lucky catch and I have not see it since.

  • Sorry, typo in my last comment, I meant head, not hed.

  • LOL, BNSF 2472. Lets see if we can double hed her with SP 2472.

  • lol...

  • nice video,i love the sound of a lash up

  • Thanks!

  • yea they work Monday through Friday

  • tx!

  • hey, last night, I finally saw the y210 job.

Btw, the 49 street wigwag is working with no light. Do you have any idea that anybody can fix it? Thanks, Snuffy

  • the y210 goes on duty at los angeles at 4:00 pm and they can be in Malabar anytime between probably 6 and midnight but it all depends on alot of different variables, i think your just going to need to get lucky :)

  • One time I have waited there until 8PM but the train never showed up. Are they working on M to F?

  • I'm a conductor for the BNSF out of Los Angeles this train is called the y210, "y" meaning yard job. It goes daily from commerce diesel facility to the LAJ to our Malabar yard a few miles away on the Santa Fe harbor subdivision.

  • Thanks for the follow up. Do you have any idea what time the y210 go into the Malabar yard? I've been trying to catch the train go through the wig wag at 49st many times but so far, I got no chance.

  • Never seen loco like 2472 before. I would like to see it on Trainz Railroad Simulator 2006!

  • Heh. That bluebonnet patch makes it the ugliest mother fucker on earth! Why doesn't BNSF keep their engines unpatched?

  • I agree with u on that ugliest BNSf patch and also on Red/Sliver bonnets.

  • wowq weird patch on that 30u

  • I know... they tried to erase all Santa Fe letters.

  • BNSF 210 job.

  • do you know the timetable?

  • I never knew they had fake blue bonnets. Looks like they patched over the Santa Fe letters and cigar band on the front. Strange either way.

  • I don't really care about BNSF letters. Santa Fe is much better.

  • so how u like pedro? I havnt seen that caboose but I seen a up caboose in mead yard its in one of my videos

  • This is not San Pedro, CA. UP named this line as San Pedro Subdivision and used to run through Long Beach before the Alameda Corridor open.

  • 5 stars and fav

  • Thanks!

  • great catch i never seen an atsf yellow warbonnet engine with bnsf letters

  • Thanks! Yeah, that was cool.

  • me either

  • this may have been the engine involved in the wreck this last week.

  • well, I filmed this video few days ago.

  • Cool Snuffy what time were you there because I was around there an heard the same horn on the same day but didnt see it.

  • It was around 7PM. I was chasing UP rock train from Aurant to UP J yard and somehow ended up to UP San Pedro sub. :D

  • Yep I was around there at that same time.

  • where were you? you did not see anything? It's very interesting area.

  • I was in a car with someone waiting on someone to pick up an hered the horn from around the corner some where there. Yea I see it was a good area to foam around there, just might go around there when vecation starts.

  • hey buddy nice video that blue and gold or yellow color reminds me of the CSX engine

  • Thanks! Haha, I want to see some CSX engines.

  • Was that a repainted ATSF?

  • I think so.

  • It sure looks like it LOL!

  • What was the train crossing at the bridge?

  • what are you talking about?

  • When you turned around the train was crossing something.what was it crossing?

  • you mean Caboose?

  • NO!look at 1:30 at the bottom. The train and the road was crossing something on that bridge. What was it crossing?

  • no idea. I don't see anything. The train is crossing the bridge and what else?

  • the LA river is under that bridge if that's what you mean

  • man, I didn't think he was asking for the L.A river. I thought he saw UFO or something! LOL

  • A river

  • nice lash up and caboose, damn graffiti!

  • Thanks and it's hard to find a clean graffiti free caboose in Socal.

  • i recently took the metrolink to LA and saw a clean santa fe caboose in pico rivera yard!

  • really? But it won't last though. sadly, soon or later, all clean RR cars get tagged.

  • Awesome lash-up!

  • Thanks!

  • WOW!! A bluebonnet BNSF! Awsome, just like the locomotive from the show "Numbers" nice catch.

  • Thanks! I heard that bluebonnet is one of the last BNSF paint scheme.

  • Wow! Great shot of the BNSF. Nice composition and lighting. It's almost nostalgic to see the early heritage (1?) BNSF paint scheme. Pretty good length train as well.

  • Thanks! Yea, all BNSF paint scheme and that's kinda unusual to see in this area. (usually I see combined with Santa Fe geeps.

  • Nice catch. I've seen the 2472 before on the San Bernardino Local, plus ATSF caboose on that train before. The San Jacinto Local has used a caboose before.

    MW

  • Thanks. This line is one of five top "hard to catch" locals in Socal.(I think #1 is UP Azusa local) I was very lucky to see both this BNSF and UP local at the same place & same time. Yea, I saw the 2472 @ Arcadia & Monrovia too. It's kinda funny because 2472 is not my favorite unit but have seen few times already.
