  • wow! I haven't seen this movie in so long. My sister hates it. she's like it is so stupid. I thought it was pretty good.

  • The Swan Princess was a better Movie.

  • @jennifernasr They have it on DVD online at WalMart. I got mine from there;)

  • I remember this, it was cute.

  • i watched this last night and fell asleep at the end :D

  • CAROL CHANNING?!?

Haha! I just put the pieces together! I watched the movie several times as a kid on VHS, but I did not for the life of me realize until now that it was Carol Channing!

  • This trailer spoiled the entire film.

  • HOLY CRAP at 1:54-1:59

  • Only a few of those were legitimate rip-offs. Thumbelina's hair was much lighter than Ariel's, Gilbert Gottfried did many other voiceovers after Aladdin, including the dentist in Fairly OddParents, and a magic carpet is a whole lot different than a big bee. I think just saying it wasn't up to Disney's standards would be sufficient.

  • Guess it's time to play the Disney rip-off drinking game:

Han's Christian Anderson story like Little Mermaid- check

    open's through a story book - check

riding through the night sky like Aladdin - check

Gilbert Godfried from Aladdin - check

End's with a stain glass shot like in Beauty and the Beast - check

Jodi Benson playing a female protagonist with Red hair like little mermaid-

    CHECK AND MATE!

there's probably more, but I don't want to be THAT drunk.

  • @chobo500 too bad beauty and the beast and aladdin came out after thumbelina :p

  • @Aquarius2693

    Thumbelina came out in 1994

Beauty and the Beast came out in 1991

    Aladdin came out in 1992.

might want to check your facts

  • @Aquarius2693 umm no they didn't lol

  • @chobo500 The style of animation was almost identical too. Perhaps the same illustrators. Maybe Disney was just too busy to do this one and allowed Warner Bros to take it.

  • @lysjocksan Don Bluth is a former Disney Animator. I don't know why he left but I think it was creative issues. Anyway, Bluth's animation is some the best around, aside from Disney! The Swan Princess movie was beautifully done also, but that was a different director/animator.

  • All dogs goes to heaven director

  • We did a ballet to Let Me Be Your Wings one year. We had saffron wings and sparkley purple costumes :D

  • I was Born when this movie was out

  • i felt like im on acid throughout that entire trailer

  • I miss the old animated now they all CGI shit.

  • * Don't ever wish to be anything but what you are *

Awwww memories! We had the tape when I was younger and we played it till broke :(

  • This reminds me of The Swan Princess

  • This movie has some of the best songs :)

  • Grundel Toad is the main antagonist of the film.

  • @ChaosLoveSmash Yes. And he's the only reason why I watch Thumbelina!

  • DO WANNA WATCH PLZ KAY THNX

  • Not sure why, but Thumbelina used to always remind me of Princess Leia for some reason. :3

  • @JesikkaNicole that's probably because you watched Faerie Tale Theater. Their Thumbelina episode had Leia's actress cast as Thumbelina. She did pretty well, too.

  • This was my all time fav movie as a kid. Better than any disney movie. When I'm really in love these songs play in my head :)

  • My gran had to put up with this movie so much when I was small

It brings back so many memories....

  • I love this movie :3

  • Nostalgia bomb!

  • they ruined the ending completely when they show the clip of her getting her WINGS! morons..

  • my poor nan had to put up with hours of this wen i was little lol sorry nan

  • Never seen this movie but i wana see ih :o x

  • Good. Childhood. Memory!

lET ME BE YOUR WINGS, LET ME BE YOUR ONLY LOVE!

  • Does Li'l Bee sound like a chubby little boy?

  • i loved this movie so much when i was little...

  • one person . . . . . . is an idiot

  • @Alwaysbored87123 Miley Virus!

  • I remember this advert! I think it was on one of my Tom and Jerry videos. It was the part at the beginning that brought back memories "I love, love stories don't you?"

  • Wow! This movie came out when I was born :D

  • I LOVE this movie!

  • 1:35

when was that part? i don't recall it

  • The beginning. "Do you like love stories" was strange.

  • 1:00-1:06 I havent even seen the movie and already that's my fav part! xD

  • thumbelina are you there?

  • why the hell did gilbert gottfried sign on for this piece of crap?!

  • @pixargod THIS MOVIE IS MY FAVOURITE MOVIE OF ALL TIME!!!!!!!! CALLING IT A PIECE OF CRAP MEANS THAT YOU ARE ONE BECAUSE THIS MOVIE IS A GEM!!!!!!!!!!!

  • my fav !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • mommyimhungry everyone read the story so it doesn't matter how the trailer gives entire movie away cause we all know how it ends any ways lol

  • @sachmaster23 This story is quite different from the original because characters that Thumbelina doesn't encounter until the end of the story (Jaquimo, Prince Cornelius) are encountered by her early on and characters that never come back into the story after Thumbelina leaves them (The Toads, The Beetle, Thumbelina's mother) have gotten extended parts to create more of a plot.

  • I love it

  • Was this preview to Thumbelina viewed before Batman: Mask of the Phantasm, We're Back! A Dinosaur's Story, and The Nightmare Before Christmas?

  • I use to sing along to all the songs!!!!!! One of my most beloved movies, just beautiful!!!

  • This trailer was at the beginning of The Secret Garden and I remember every word of this trailer...it's as much a part of the movie as the movie is!

  • The Fieldmouse gets on my nerves!

  • now wht if youre FROM france...... its not tht "far far away"

  • How many days was John Candy dead before Thumbelina was released to the big screen?

  • Oh,yeah.John Candy died that year.

    I was born in '94! ^-^

  • No,but that's sad that John Candy died that year.

  • @tooner1994 Wasn't John Candy the voice of Wilbur from The Rescuers Down Under (1990)?

  • I don't know,but i do know he was in other movis,such as Space balls,Uncle buck,Home alone,etc...

  • @tooner1994 Did you do a Swan Princess crossover?

  • yes.

  • I wish someone like LionHeartCaptain or LionKingRulezAgain would make a fanmake parody of this

  • "In a land far far away".

You've got to be kidding me! That's FRANCE all the way. You can even see Notre Dame if you're smart.

  • @Billythachikk It is far far away from my home....

  • Never actually saw the movie, but this preview was just as much part of the Batman: Mask of the Phantasm VHS as the actual movie for me.

  • @shoutsman

Batman: Mask of the phantasm is a much better film compared to this. I thought it had great visuals and voice acting from kevin conroy and mark hamill. Plus the ending made me feel teary eyed.

  • hey i remember back when i was a little kid having an anime thumbelina movie

the story was a little different as she was actually born big but was turned small by a fortune teller who her mother asked to improve her behavior and then she meets a sugar fairy whos name escapes me she also had magic shoes if anyone knows the name of the movie im talking about could you please tell me

  • ANIME you say? Now that shouldn't be too hard to find... XD I think I found exactly what you were inquiring about - if you haven't found it already. Go ahead it's right in the related videos providence on this page. I think it's called "sekai meisaku douwa oyayubi hime" or falling somewhere between those lines.

  • @hunterthehedgehog1 omg!!

i remembered i had that movie too!

i just googled it, according to wikipedia , the name is "Thumbelina: A Magical Story"

It is a Japanese anime series produced by Enoki Films. It premiered in Japan on TV Tokyo on March 31, 1992 and ran for twenty-six episodes until its conclusion on September 30, 1992.

The series was edited into an eighty-minute film and released in North America on VHS by Starmaker Entertainment in 1993.

  • Thumbelina was a good flick I'm not joking it was good. Again this is another film that didn't do well but I liked it. I first saw it at an old friends house I don't remember which one though. Jodi Benson was the best thing for the main character's voice. She next to Emmy Rossum has a great singing voice. Gary Imhoff did a good job as the Prince and for not singing originally he did really good. I hope kids from the late 90's got a chance to see this.

  • @jazzalex22

I remember Gary Imhoff from spiderman the animated series as the voice of harry osborn. He worked on the show with jodi benson's former the little mermaid co star christopher daniel barnes. As well as veteran announcer and voice actor neil ross.

  • @pixargod Yeah he did play Harry Osborn. I remember now. But I just said for not being a singer before he did really good singing.

  • this has always been my favorite movie no matter how old it is ^o^

  • The Toad who wanted to marry Thumbelina reminds me of the Alligator from All Dogs Go To Heaven. I think it's because of the big lips.

  • OMG XD one of my most childhood faves :D

I was quite surprised that Jodi Benson did "Thumbelina's" voice cause it sounded much more higher than what she sounded in "The Little Mermaid" another Han's Christian Anderson story but she has such an amazing voice though :3 I've always loved it

    Technology XD

  • i love this movie!!!!! its been ages since i last watched it!

  • I don't really remember this movie too much. I heard bad things about it, including that it rips off Disney (Gilbert Gottfried anyone?)

The songs sound pretty good, but that's because it's Barry Manilow (he should do more movie songs).

I don't think I'll see this any time soon. When it comes to Don Bluth, I prefer Secret of NIMH & his other films of the 1980's & Anastasia.

  • Yep, that was the whole movie wasn't it? Haha, I love the movie though!

  • Comment removed

  • Lol the reason I remember this trailer so much is because they had it at the beginning of the Batman: Mask of the Phantasm tape.

  • i like how this trailer gave away the ENTIRE movie. i love it though.

  • hahahaha truuee!!!

  • i havent seen this movie in quite a while...

    more than.. what? 10, 9 years? :p

  • LOL didnt the same guys who played the beetle play Eago from Alladin? and Mr.Potato Head? XD

  • Actulley blooooo100 Mr. Potato Head is played by Don Rickles in Toy Story. And yes Gilbert Gottfried played Berkley Beetle the same voice that played Eago from Aladdin.

  • It's Iago

  • Of Course It's Iago Because Berkley Beetle is Been Played by Gilbert Gottfried.

  • yep gilbert gottfried

  • I liked the other Thumbelina, personally. The one from timeless tales. Thumbelina's relationship wasn't focused on the fairy prince, but on her friend the blue bird!

  • I remember this trailer!!! It was on my old tape of the Secret Garden ^^

  • I give Thumbelina a thumb up

  • i like the part early in the trailer where she hugs someone's thumb cuz...i'll GIVE her something THUMBLIKE to hug on me lol

  • SOMEONE HELP, PLEASE?! Okay, so I've been trying to find a certain movie. I saw it on related videos while I was watching thumbelina. It's about this boy... and while he's sleeping his bed grows legs and he goes to dreamland, or something along those lines. C'mon I wanna see it!

By the way, I really like Thumbelina. She's pretty ugly... but a fun character, I guess.

  • That sounds like "Little Nemo: Adventures in Slumberland"

  • Yay! Thanks.

  • maybe your talking about 'little nemo?"

  • Yep. SMareng said it first!

  • Wow, this brought back some memories!

  • I remember seeing this movie when I was little; I remember the farm scence and when Thumbelina fell into the jam.

And I think that Thumbelina/The Fairy Prince look similar to Anastasia and Dmitri. They both have the same coloring and similar facial structures and features.

  • This movie is my shiiiii

  • This was such a great movie. -Sigh.- I wish they would relase it on DVD.

  • uhhh they did

    it is on dvd.

  • its on dvd i have it i got it at amazon

  • This was my favourite movie when I was little - I've seen it at least eight times.

It's weird though, in the trailer, the prince is like:

    "Who took her?"

And the dog says "A frog"

and the prince is like "A toad?"

  • I used to always think that when I saw this trailer on my Batman (mask of the phantasm) movie

  • The storie Thumbelina is actually Danish but in the real version...Umm...It a lot diffrente! it's like in the real The Little Mermaid, Ariel dies...I like the disney version more then the real! xD

  • Yea, it's a loot more different :) (I'm swedish and grown up with H.C. Andersens stories)

But I love both the versions <3 But I always remember the orginial Thumbelina, when the butterfly dies.

  • wheres that one i wanna see the other one lol

  • Yeah, I love my Danish heritage, but our old children's stories are really depressing at times! xD

  • i remember this movie^^

  • Wow, I watched this movie in theaters as a kid with my sister and I was six. Brings back the memories.

  • who was the person who did the voice in this trailer
