I don't get why Slash gets so may signature models just because he's Slash. His 1987 Les Paul Standard was re-iussed and it was just a Standard with different pickups, and costs more than a used car (that's an expression, just so you know.) And his AFD Les Paul - tried it at a store, sounded no different than a regular Les Paul. It makes no sense to me at all.

Ok in 92 this guitar wasnt around...... That guitar he would use is just a gibson goldtop that was discontinued. Someone stole it from slash a few years later and he didnt get it back so he asked gibson to make another one just for him andd they decided to give him a signature one aswell as putting up the goldtop on the market. So everyone saying he used this guitar in 92 in tokyo is wrong.

Was it a goldtop? Yes.

Was it a slash signature goldtop? No.

I have this guitar , The volume does not turn down when you turn the volume down. It drive's me mad, it may clean up a little but the volume stays the same. Also the second fret on the g-string (The A note) always sounds out of tune when i play the D-chord. I spend 2299.00 Euro's.there was only a thousand made around the world so when slash die's it will double in price. Im selling mine so if you live in Ireland get in touch .

this one has the gibson logo and was made in the usa. i wouldn't say worth the money but the epiphone finishers seem alittle cheesier than the gibsons. but still the epiphone is a great deal and slash supposedly plays both.

To be honest its a great sounding guitar and the value is really on the finnish, electronics and the fact that is slas's.

However, this is not the best guitar to play metal stuff. I actually was debating between this one and a les paul faded. That guitar screamed a lot. Its a question of taste.

I got that price from the mississauga location, but it's all the same. I thought it was weird too, but apparently this one is cheaper than the standard, and it's half the price of the 2008 slash signature. I asked them why but the guy there didn't know.

This model is solid mahogany. The actual Slash Custom shop has a maple cap like all Les Paul Standards. the guys at that guitar shop should have known that. I don't know why people complain about the weight. Les Paul believes that a more dense guitar gives more sustain. The new 2008 models are chambered and light, they ought to call them semi-hollow bodies. I'd buy this model before I chambered Les Paul

sustain DOES come from the thickness of the body wood. thats why a les paul will sustain like 3x longer than a strat will.i HATE the new les pauls, and i think gibson is playing mind games with the customers by offering a standard thats a piece of shit, and calling the guitar they SHOULD be building as the standard the Traditional and increasing the price. i think my les paul is of the last really really good year. 2004. thats was the last time they offered les paul of near 1958-59 quality
