It reminds me of my cousin who was killed in 2009 , she was only two, I don't remember what happened to the murderer but I believe that if we have souls after we're gone they find peace. The powerful message in this movie is, unfortunately these horrible things do happen in this world, to many families-families who aren't 'those unlucky people whom bad things happen to'. She was angry and upset with the world when she was so cruelly taken from it so soon, and she realized a way she could 'hold the world, without her in it.' She matured so much throughout the film. Because despite it being far from perfect, life is a beautiful thing. <3

Although the film is overshadowed by the murder and rape of Susie, the film does have happiness in it, "I wasn't gone, I was alive in my own perfect world" and the fact that love, in a way, does triumph it brings Susie's parents closer together. My favourite film of all time, there is so much more hidden in the film and book then that which is on the surface. :)

I really enjoyed this film, The imagery was stunning, the acting decent and a gratifying ending. I will admit it had me choked up a few times, and on the verge of crying. (23.m.uk) Also a shout out to the actor playing the child murderer, he was awesome and made me feel very uneasy when he came into scene. Not much replay value, but avery good film, What made even better for me is that I was going to watch Black Swan, but missed the first 45 mins so flicked on film four and this had just begun.

I thought that all that CGI magical fru-fru was gonna be too much. I read the book and thought the movie would totally ruin it. but it didn't excellent movie, I cried A LOT and Stanley deserved that Oscar nod....he was such a creeper. & I know it sounds weird and gross but I DO wish that they at least hinted that she was raped too, not showed it, just implied it so that it makes what happened to her even more powerful and makes George Harvey and all the actual scum like him, even more hated.

During the scene where Susie is describing all the victims and details, she mentions that "he" "just wanted to touch her" when describing a young girl who was murdered. Also, it is pointed out his wife died, Which isn't a clear indication he raped, but hints toward it, as he lives alone and has no partner suggests, along with the fact he murders young Girls, it is likely, sexually connected (frustrated). There's a few more too :)

the book is amazing, i loved it... i read it before i saw the movie, and i saw the movie when it was first in theaters... i felt kinda bad though because i insulted the writer by saying to my friend something like 'its weird how she describes the rape, how does she know so much about rape? was she raped or something?' turns out she was and she wrote about it in her book 'lucky' i tried reading it.... it was really insane i feel bad for her, i stopped reading it once they went to court...

this book and the movie did shed alot of light on a problem that's really there. That there are people that hunt down children like the way Mr. Harvey slaughtered susie. It's horrible, but people do need to know these issues. always be aware of your surroundings, and make sure your children or little siblings are taught about being safe outside. Men like Mr. Harvey do lurk the corner.
