Why do you dislike bots so much? Some people enjoy certain aspects of the game and bot things which they do not like doing, i dont see what is wrong with this. Some people actually have to go outside and do things and cannot sit inside all day playing on a game, so don't you think that it's unfair that the people who can play on the game for longer can level up faster and get an advantage?

Do you think it's fair for the legit players to have their accomplishments devalued? Also, people that achieve these goals are pretty good at time management. There is no way that they can get rid of all the botters. I think that jagex should be going after the gold farmers. They are the ones that cause all the prices to go down. Now there are a lot of players that are using bots. however if you eliminate the gold farmers, there will be significantly less bots.

there was a thing on my local news a few weeks ago 2 16 year olds were arrested for creating a bot program that was widly used and disributed. Jagex charged them for violation of terms and agreements and won. shuting down all people using that bot. so jagex is fighting and i think winning some but its not "national news" its just a local news kinda thing

Then they rise the price of membership because ALL those banned bots arent paying for the P2P creating the price of membership to rise more then 'a few cents', most likely more. If they did that prices would be too expensive for the package you get, Depending on how you pay instead of paying $5 or $6 you ALREADY have to pay up to $15.

jagex releases these letters every so often to just make us think that they are actually doing something to stop the bots but the real problem is the bots make jagex way to much money about 1/2 of the players who are logged on are bots every time there is an update the player count goes down over 50% from what it was before the update so it is not like jagex has a real issue with stopping the bots it is just jagex does not want to stop them they make them to much money for them to stop them

Raising membership fees is not practical. People WOULD complain. Pretty much everything Jagex does, it is accused of money-grabbing, and considering thatso many people were against the "money-grabbing" updates such as Loyalty Rewards and RAF, how could they possibly agree to Jagex simply forcing them to pay a higher price?

The donation idea is is something which I think Jagex should consider, though it would only be for PR, since they already spend a huge amount of resources against bots

Alos, Captchas have been discussed many many times on the forums and they DO NOT WORK. They had them in Classic and the bots got round them. Randoms in fact work much better. Bot busting is an inefficient means of banning bots, and of course actually finding out if someone is botting can be more complicated than it seems. Spotting them "just by the gear their wearing" is moronic in my view as many, many legit players would be banned without actually investigating them.

Its 10k coal botters that produce so much coal the price drops so low legit players cant make money off it. Thats what destroys the RS economy. Banning 1000 bots a day is definatly possible, but 1000 x 10 members is obviously 10,000 times that by 30 is 300,000 in a month as there isnt that many active players per day but anyway times that by like $5 and thats a massive loss for jagex sort lf makes sense now why they dont do anything like this, they have loads of really smart people working there and people think they dont think of stuff like this? I feel the legal action taken by Jagex is inadequate. Yes, bot developers and runescape gold merchants/seller websites have been taken down, but is this enough to force them to pull out of the industry? No. They move on to the next domain, carrying on. Jagex needs to realise something here: they've brought back free trade to gain players again and thus money. However the legal cases require that money. I feel that runescape with free trade is stupid as it's begging for people to sell GP again.
