What a fucking shameless rip off of iPhone, just take a look at the little details - weather forecast ( this sun, clouds and stuff... it would be deja vu for every iPhone user) or stock exchange statistics - the switch between time period is just freaking identical, what kinda losers work in HTC that can't even make their own buttons?! I do my best to be not so iPhone fanboy'ish, but how on earth can you not be, by watching movies like that... Shame on you, Apple rip-offs.

If you were to make your own touch phone I bet my life on it that it would resemble iPhone in 40 different ways. Unless you design a phone with triangular screen or 2 touch screens and activate icons with the will power I don't think you can design something that won't look like iPhone. What matters it's performance - and speaking of iPhone... no copy, paste, Flash, Java, no camera auto focus nor video recording - THAT'S RIP OFF...

Wait until this one is out then compare prizes hopefully HTC diamond will get much cheaper 6then buy the Diamond. Diamond is a Great thin phone. If however you can't live with 4 GB internal storage I suggest go for HD. Personally I am going to install GPS on it with maps it'll take up about 2 GB so only 2 GB left for music and videos is a bit on the low side for me.But Diamond is a very good looking and will probably be cheaper.You should find out what you want from a mobile see if it's possible

wait ofcourse. as you have no clue if the prerelease isn't full of bugs. and even if the diamond may be cheaper. you should consider getting a HD, as the touchflow works much better and other bugs are gone. (not to forget all the features )

there is a 512 read only memory on board, but as far as it goes for the rest of the storage it's well kinda unlimited :D Depends on how many micro-SD cards you are willing to buy. There is a micro SD slot so thats a major advantage over the diamond that has no such slot. The HD comes also standard with a 4 GB micro sd card so thats pretty cool you dont have to buy one immediately. I don't think a few weeks would matter, the price is pretty fixed for at least as long as the new phone comes out

On second thought I have to agree with freesky85 on waiting though. The price won't get much higher but you could have more bugs on the pre-released. Now HTC makes updates for bugs but I doubt they'll make updates for the pre-released bugs.

I cant say any different been researching phones for months now and this phone is the best out there. Better than Xperia X1, Iphone 3G, Nokias, etc.... It's pretty much perfect accept for maybe a keyboard. Also would love to install android from Google on it. I bet it would work better than the Google phone from the same company HTC!

i read somewhere that people tried this and it worked. can't proof this ofcourse, but would be cool if it works in the final realease. even if i don't see anything special in android at the moment. windows mobile has got much much more to offer until there is more programming made for android

You CAN run Android on it, also Windows Mobile has a lot more features (Android is the same as iPhone OS X: bad synchronization, no file transfer possibilities, no use as modem and so on).

But, if you absolutely want Android, you CAN run it on the Touch HD.

Multi-touch relates to having multiple fingers on the screen at any one time. What he does is tap the resistive screen twice at one point. On a capacitive screen like the iPhone's, you use real multi-touch, that is a pinch gesture were more than one finger is being recorded by the phone hardware. So no, this doesn't have multi-touch as it only has a resistive screen.

now that i think about it, the iphone rules but the service is crap. at&t blows because you don't get a signal inside of most buildings. it really sux.

strongly consider getting the g-phone and the 32gb ipod touch they just released.

i also considered buying the iphone. after the 3G came out i was close to gettign one. i love the interface and the glass display. really great. the only complain i have with it is that its missing some features i would need. like opening and editing pdf and office files. and other bussines features.

others may not need those. so its just personal opinion. so i think that the touc HD is a real good successor of the iphone 3g in many ways (at least if they don't mess it up ;) )

1:a browser which can handle java apps, as some sites in my university use it.

2: use the phone as a modem sometimes (with bluetooth if possible).

4: when recieving emails, i need the possibility of saving the files that come with it. and sometimes edit them and send them back.

5: beeing able to use the gps for other apps then just google.

6. phone beeing recognised as a usb harddrive or via bluetooth to store files and take it anywhere to other pc's. without the need of special software.

has got everything the iphone is missing, and much more. runs nearly every applikation, has got the better browser with first time java implementation for a mobile browser. and there is allready a great tool out, which lets you rotate every screen on the htc devices with the g-sensor. so you get a full quwerty keyboard while tiping sms and mail or reading pdf docs

oh.. the full rotation is not possible when writing mails or sms. only with pictures, movies and opera. not within ie, mail, sms... but the htc touch hd was only a hardware final sample not software.
