  • Fucking brilliant.........that's all I have to say!!

  • Loved your comment, Shifty. This is Pink Floyd - they made their own category of music - they put the t in talent - damn good group

  • This song pretty much displays everything I could ever aspire to be as a musician.

  • Nice music for a night ride on bicycle

  • There is nothing like closing your eyes, putting on the headphones, listening to Animals. its cosmic.

  • We married in 1979 and this song was the introducing music in the chapel were we married. There were a few people that recognised it, but my wife and me (I?) were very excited that we chose this number!! After 32 yaers we are still together! Perhaps because of this band and there music; P. F. A very mature music! I keep on listening!!

  • Great sound recording for 1975!! Must have been done directly off the sound board........... Big time Pink Floyd fan, but love the visual too!! I'm from NYC and know exactly where everything was filmed, from Midtown Manhattan to DUMBO in Brooklyn.............surreal, like Floyd!!

  • I was actually at this very concert at the Sports Arena! I have always remembered it as my favorite concert but since i was about 17 at the time I figured I was just romanticizing the past. But hearing it now I realize how great it was. I have seen Floyd and Roger Waters shows many times since but this one they were in it. Wish You Were Here wasn't even out yet- we went to see Dark Side. Only sad thing is I was kicked out for smoking hash and missed the encore which I think was Echoes. :(

  • Pink Floyd: Life, Death, Alienation, Madness

  • 11 people made an error in judgment.

  • Who the fuck dislike this masterpiece???

  • The Rat race .

  • Where can you find this concert recording?

    Anyone?

  • 03:22 what's that faint sound that sounds like human shouting?

  • Happy birthday Richard Wright. May you rest in paradise!!!

  • Nice recording and fucking solo !

  • *exhales*......and passes the joint....

  • maybe i am an oldy, but this is really good to hear, anyway I didb't know this version, and yes it give more to hope/believe or whatever in whatever, it makes me happy ...

  • @5jerry1

yeah man i like all oldies like skynyrd and stuff like that but pink floyd is my all time favourite band and i can never be tempted to listen to the mainstream! but these people at my school dont do it to antaginize me (well maybe thats part of it) but they really do listen to that shit and the only reason that they like that kind of music is because of the beat (and because when they were young they didnt shine like the sun lol)

  • probably one of the greatest songs ever licked.. but the video makes me a bit nauseous. much <3 though

  • this transports me back to being a 15 y.o in my bedroom hanging out the window to have a sneaky joint then collapsing onto the bed to listen to a cassette with wish you were here on one side and animals on the other. i still get the same tingle now. good times.

  • wots wrong with rogers voice?

  • Not that bad in g#

  • someone should speed this back down to original G-key...

  • @waterloo13

It's probably sped-up to help ensure the whole piece is uploaded, save that little snippet in the beginning that was taken out

  • If i had been there, hearing SOYCD for the first time with the pink floyd sound on stage in front of me, my fucking head would have exploded.

  • Hastasıyız dedee...

  • Check my profile for the Pink Floyd Inspired Concept album I wrote!

  • Maybe Im alone with my oppinion, but this is the best atmospheric video I've seen for a Music Video especially for this great moving Song, New york fits great...

I imagine, A drugged person sitting in on of the corners of the street and seeing this people on the street.

    Fantastic :)

  • Syd=godman

  • memories of music that will never return ... This song takes me in a nice oblivion, and my eyes are going to cry to think that if one day I will have children and they may not understand this music

  • It's funny that this kind of indulgent music could fill an arena back in the 70's, and I don't mean that in a bad way it all. It's like they're unaware of their surroundings and just in a room creating something totally transcendant. I'm not gonna say this doesn't happen today, because I know it does, but this is the pinnacle.

  • The whole "bike messenger" cam thing works with this song, who would have thought...? This how I'd like to tour New York,...and now I just did. I thought you might get your camera and bicycle "jacked" at the end, I must admit.

  • The boys done good!

  • This is an incredible bootleg, thank you so much for this. My first Floyd concert was the wall, but I still like the earlier stuff the best; maybe a little less political. However, that said, I was 16 years old and the wall blew me away. Always remember it...they are the most original, tight band of that era, and nobody can top them even today.

  • Who sings lead? It sounds like Waters' scruffy voice to me...

  • @danslatente That is Roger on lead vocals.

  • @chrisocony Thanks for the memories. I was at this concert. The show began before the music started and continued even after the last chord was sounded. Pink Floyd will always be artists for the ages.

  • I hate with a passion, those rotten kids at my school (im 16 by the way) who say that my music sucks because its too slow or it sounds "weird" or whatever! And then their music, which is rap and hip-hop and techno and i say, very sarcastically, "wow you know it takes alot of talent to say the same words over and over again and just add a bunch of swear words to it and apparently its music, oh and especially the fact that they dont play any instruments is awesome..." i love pink floyd!

  • @ShiftyStealthy

I was your age in the 1970's and there were a number of idiots who didn't get it then either. I was 14 and in 9th grade when "Animals" was released (winter '77), and a few of us saw it for what it was but a lot of my classmates were into Skynyrd, Styx, and Neil Young. I think a lot of it came not from personal dislike, but from being jerks who only wanted to antagonize me. But seeing what's out there now, a lot of kids just don't know what they've missed; you know what's good.

  • I'm an old-timer.... when Wish You Were Here came out in 1975 I was in college. After DSOTM my friends and I waited and waited for another release. It was two years and seemed like forever. I will never forget where I was and what I was doing when I bought the WYWH album, removed the dark blue shrink wrap and put the record on the turntable.... And here I am 36 years later still listening to it.....

  • 7 people dislike this... how's that possible???

  • @marcogalway

That's because they do NOT know GOOD music when they hear it!!!! lol

  • if this is all u know ur clueless

  • driving through ny while listening to pink floy by night...must be an awesome feeling =)

  • I know you needed to edit the song, but I must disagree with your statement that the keyboard intro is nothing of note. What makes this song spectacular is you're taken through the many moods of Syd B. The intro creates a melancholy but peaceful state that 's shattered by the signature theme. Stravinsky-like, it stirs up a disturbing shade of tension & beautiful incoherence. Without a build-up beforehand, that dischordant theme loses it's impact. In a sense, it's like sex without the foreplay..

  • wow, this whole band's 'bang' at 1:40 is 'the shit'!

  • A sincere thank you from all the Floyd fans around this wold. Perhaps the best recording from an under-appreciated era. Peace friends.

  • Ummm. I cannot thank you enough for posting this. Hats off. Love it.

  • why is this 1/2 a step up?

  • @telecasterbear

Probably to fit the whole thing in and without cutting more out of it than already deemed necessary.

  • cut.......¿????

  • this is such a great live recording. Million times better than any recording in PF/RW separated times

  • many bands like beatles queen zep doors hendrix the who the stones the floyd etc etc their music never grow old cause they treated music as art and a way of life not like today with that fake heartless manufactured crap this generation listens too. SO BLESSED TO BE BORN IN 1977 WHEN MANY OF THE BANDS FROM THE LATE 60'S AND EARLY 70'S WERE SO POLISHED AND AT THEIR PRIME

  • 6:30 Eek. Tough note Roger

  • I was there! Also one other of the shows of that stint at the LA Sports Arena. An amazing concert that I still think about even after all these years.

  • this recording is absolutely stunning, one of the very best live recordings...hard to believe that a near riot was going on outside...

  • i hate short guitar solos that are just played to have a guitar solo in the song. today i hate some guitar solos i loved earlier, because now i know pink floyd. i was introduced to this song in 2008. and when i heard the solo which begins at 4:41 i stopped to breath, i thought heaven touched me or some shit. and i couldn't believe that there did exist such a fucking awesome solo. now i'm choosier in listening to guitar solos. angus young is boring if there is a man like david gilmour

  • @loehly I too highly rate David Gilmours playing but to say Angus Young is boring is nonsense, he's probably the best showman in rock, anybody that has seen AC/DC live would agree. Pink Floyd/David Gilmour tend to rely on lighting and stage props to make their live shows interesting, otherwise you'd just have a bunch of guys playing on the spot like the Eagles tend to, no matter how good the music, shows like that can be boring.

  • It depends whether you're there with a passive mindset to be entertained, or it you're there to participate in the experience. The latter requires you to 'get into' the music & let your own emotions & imagination get carried by the sounds the band is making. To me, AC/DC is about entertainment and having fun, with a good dose of Guitar-god worship (I love AC/DC & Young's playing!) PF, on the other hand, is about immersing you in the music - inviting you into their abstract intellectual world..

  • @Davetheruinner I was not talking about his ACDC shows (i've seen them live too and it was probably one of the best concerts I was on) but about angus young's playing. sure he himself is not boring but his playing (to me) is.

  • @loehly this is so true what you are saying! The same happened to me, this song was introduced to me in the radio, and it was only the inicial solo and the rest of the song! David Gilmor is the true underrated guitar man!

  • @loehly Gilmour's playing is heavenly, but there is a time and place for Angus Young too. He is the sonic equivalent of a horny, rude lad.

  • @mahajohn did you bump your head anus young ain't #@!$%#%^&

  • @bjbuschman2 shut up man, angus young has just another style of playing. does every guitar player have to sound like david gilmour?!

  • @TheShaolinKid you shut up i never said anything about anus young this is pink floyd you jack wagon

  • @loehly And thanks to Allmighty God, everything came back to happy ending! Bravo, boy!

  • As much as I like Guy Pratt's bass work, he cannot hold a candle up to Roger Waters.

  • Were you on acid on this urban bike ride?

  • when was this boot released is it brand new? Is it off a cd or vinyl...

  • loved

  • oh, WOW! when the band entered at 1:40, i was amazed by the depth of sound of this boot!! jaw-dropping!

  • Szkoda, że nie ma oryginalnego filmu z koncertu, ale dźwięk unikalny. Dobre

  • Tape speed too fast? Pitch is a half-step sharp.

  • Man were they on that night! Nice vid too... especially like it when the "bouncing light" appears from 8:22 through the end. Great juxtiposition.

  • @curiousgeorge555 only fags ride bikes!

  • @sascwky what a stupid thing to say you troll. Go guzzle some more gas.

  • @sascwky Only idiots use such ignorant vocabulary. Grow a brain.

  • this song is so crazy

  • Great recording! Excellent!

  • who ever shot the video here did a nice job

  • Great version of Shine..Pink Floyd forever!!!

  • hurbanhistoria pinkfloyesca, chido carnales, saken, saken.....

  • LIFE WITHOUT FLOYD SUICIDE ,,LIFE WITHOUT ROGER WRITING AND SINGING ,,,,,,DEATH FOR THE HUMAN RACE

  • @deansusky Extreme comment dude. LOL

  • 6:43 on nice lens flare...

  • Comment removed

  • After hearing this, I realize that I actually prefer the raw, live Floyd to the sterilized album Floyd.

  • Modern day mozart, This is Music Not the shit out today!!!!

  • its wild hearing waters singing this song.

  • @wannacadeadbody I think Waters sings this on the album version as well.

  • pink floyd, transport me to another world, i lose my mind and relax when i listen this song great song yeah!! PINK FLOYD FOREVER!!!

  • Hey Mrs. Jó

Im am beautful crasy dog, hello my friends.

    Your last,

    Plese!!!!

  • I would have liked to have heard the ambience, man...

  • Roger's bass sounds so tasty in this recording.....actually I lied, EVERYBODY sounds tasty!

  • superb recording and excellent video, great way to see new york city. credit to uploader

  • On April 26, 1975, I sat in the LA Sports Arena wondering about this song having never heard it before. It just kept going on and building. I didn't realize I was hearing a masterpiece by the Floyd as I read the program that had the words and all. Wish I'd kept it. The song blew me away.

  • Thanks chriscony. I remember the opening was really long and slow. My friend and I wondered where this tune was going. We were familar with "Meddle," "Dark Side of the Moon" and other tunes, but this song really another Floyd experiment. I think they played more of "Wish You Were Here," too. My girlfriend even embroidered the logo of their latest album on a shirt for me. Still have and treasure it. Shine on you crazy diamonds.

  • NEW YORK BABY!!!

  • one of the best version of Shine I'd never hear..Girmour's guitar makes celestial sound!!

  • thats not gilmour on guitar thats roger waters band performing this song.I dont know the name of the guitarist in hes band but I personal dont like it

  • @IvoCro1053 You obviously don't know Gilmour.

  • floyd = boss

  • Awesome video. For someone who wants to go to New York it makes it not seem so scary or hard to get around.

  • The best bootleg ever. Thank you so much for sharing this.

  • Greatest song of all time in my opinion.

  • Great audio. Great bootleg.

  • fuckin great song.

  • Cool video...I almost felt as if I was biking through the city myself.

Echoes From The Past : Platinum Edition..awesome bootleg...best of 1975..I don't understand why the Boston Garden bootleg of the same year gets all the praise..It's not good.

  • This song makes me want to cry, R.I.P syd.): you were a legend. And gave us this awesome band, and sound.. for me. you've saved my life.. for without pink floyd. i dont think id be living at all atm. I remember when i watched something, roger called dave said "something is wrong with Syd.. and one of the things he said was "Now theres a look in his eyes, like black holes in the sky" R.I.P richard wright.

  • amen

  • is that the twin towers at 6:15 ? crazy awasome recording by the way

  • I doubt it. This was recorded in 2008.

  • yeah I think too

  • I actually prefer Roger singing this as he puts more feeling into it. I get the sense that he really is mourning on stage.

  • good quality sound for to be bootleg records.

    five stars!

  • orgasmic!!!!

  • Roger sang lead vocals on the studio version (on the album Wish You Were Here).

  • This is great. Its great to hear a version of this with Roger singing it. I know Gilmours voice suits the song more and all but we've all heard that a million times before so i really like this one. Always kinda niggled me a bit that such a heart felt song gets sung by someone else. I know he was a friend of the whole band but they are Rogers words after all... Great post!

  • wuuuauuuuu¡¡¡¡¡

que cancion.... la mejor de todas:)

  • COOLlllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll :)

  • fkn awesome, thank u

  • how did you find this album??? i want to buy it somehow please tell me how to find

  • WOW!...Just WOW!!

  • Thanks for this; very good sound, best i've heard from the 75 tour; saw them that June in Hamilton Ontario, Canada. They did Echoes as an encore, with a Dick Parry Sax solo in middle which shocked us all!

Sorry you couldn't post opening keyboard solo on this; would love to hear it, big Richard fan.

Could you please repost opening with all keyboard? A serious request from a serious fan....

    regards, wordofgord

  • Another vote here for posting the opening/closing keyboard movements. I saw them also on this tour, it was the last tour where Gilmour and Wright could cut loose (before the distraction of Roger's extreme self-indulgence on the next 2 tours). Rest in Peace Richard!

  • definitely Logel!

  • this music makes the city look dangerous and mysterious lol

  • Who sung verses?Roger or Rick?

  • i think its Roger Waters :). Pink Floyd forever

  • Roger.

  • Roger

  • Amazing video. This song fills me with emotion. Love it.

  • i love this version

  • one of the first songs that got me into Floyd, great video man.

  • Nice video. I'm SO glad I don't live in NYC though. All the traffic would drive me crazy.

  • I saw them at the Usher Hall,Edinburgh in November 1974+also had a bootleg called Winter tour 74,Shine on was one piece lasting 24 mins,Ravin+Droolin&You Gotta be crazy. But some mean Bastard Stole all the bootlegs I had.

They did a similar set at Knebworth the following summer, but had split up Shine on,did Wish you were here& had Roy Harper sing Have a Cigar.

  • If i were in this audience and heard this song for the first time, i would probably freak out...

  • Wonderful text Roger, wonderful music, David and Rick.

    R.I.P Richard Wright

  • fucking awsome man this is psychedelic

  • That is some nice bass tone Mr. Waters...

  • Soons Fuck

  • OMG they just don't make music like this anymore......

  • that about half or a full step UP

    :O

  • Yep, half stup up than album, strange unless the audio was stepped up during transfer .. :-)

  • wow pretty fucking cool man.... like the tone of gilmours guitar too!... this was probably one of their first shine on performances

  • well by the sounds of the intro... probably. looks like the album hasn't even come out yet

  • They started doing Shine On on their British tour of 1974, about six months before this performance, which is supposed to be April 1975.

The audience of that British tour would also be the first to hear Dogs and Sheep -- although in very different shape from the versions released on Animals over two years later, especially in the lyric department.

  • This is a stunning video

  • 06:30 lol :D, but refrain in combination with gilmour even sounds acceptable :)

  • they did make it half a step higher, but i have this stuff on my pc and i can make it half a step lower, so i did, it sounds very very nice, its in G and everything, sounds beautiful, realtek HD audio manager i think it is. but yh try it, it sounds great.

    5 starsss

  • 4:41 begins my favorite DG solo of all time. Play this and know me.

  • Fantastic ! I've never heard this version! and the music and video worked well together !!!! top marks!

  • ride through NYC was taken on my birthday, one of my favorites song in this video, what more can one ask for?

  • This reminds me of when you were heading down to a concert, with this song cranking in your ride! Man those were the days. Truly amazing band.

  • This was incredible.

  • A Stroll through NYC

  • best video on youtube

  • Cool video!!!!

  • the rawness of his voice gives it a tortured perspective that this song has in lyrics

  • THIS IS THE BEST TRIP EVER!

  • i wish i was born 40 years earlier...

  • agreed

  • @deep0red0pink0led That is the beauty of Pink Floyd, the music was so ahead of it's time. And now it is timeless and does not feel old. You fit right in, no matter when you were born.

  • Comment removed

  • @kimblers but i'm so sad that i can't go to a pink floyd concert! and most of people (my age) now listens to lady gaga, rihanna and stuff like that... Most of people thinks i'm little wierd because i listen to music that was made 40 years ago. well actually most of them doesn't even now what pink floyd is.

but anyway...this music is amazing and timeless and idontknowenoughenglishexpressionstodescribeit... And i can't wait roger water's concert in zagreb in april!! :D

  • @kimblers so true :)

  • @kimblers i think you knew them withb waters

  • @kimblers If it was ahead of its time, then how could it be written at that time?

  • @navesele Its ahead of its time, period.

  • @navesele Some things can't be explained. Think about it.

  • @kimblers I wouldnt say ahead of its time, what they were doing was certainly creative and expressive, but there were alot of bands doing similar things
