@portair12 It's my understanding that you only get the best benefits from grinding then eating immediately. That seems to be the way with lots of foods.
The seeds expand when they hit the moisture in your body and can constipate you; it can be painful and dangerous. Grind what you need for a couple days or week at most and keep in fridge. Chia, or Mila which I have, can be expensive. Flax is easy and cheap to get. Roasting kills off some benefits. The grinding releases the oils, hence the need to refrigerate. Use this for the Budwig protocol for cancers.
If this in not a joke, just stop drinking milk with all those hormones! Avoid all dairy products. Eat only organic meat or no meat at all. All contain hormones. Eat mostly fruit, vegetables, seeds, nuts, legumes.
@CIarKent It can if you take it in large amounts. About 2 tablespoons full should not cause any issues. If you start to have "troubles", take it with drinks or foods that are known to have the opposite effect. I've been fine with it. I'm no expert. Just my personal experience.
I got a great flax seed and chia seed blend on amazon called Fitflax. It's delicious in cereal and shakes, and you don't have to grind it. Great energy.
Thanks ,Mike ,, you said it perfectly ...and guess what ...you just promoted coffee grinders ..how about you getting your own patten and call it the kahunka flaxseed grinder ..... whoola .......thanks again ...
@Swift19850 - On the contrary phytoestrogens like that found in flax have a much weaker effect hormonally speaking than the the endogenous estrogens produced in your body. These "plant" estrogens bind to estrogen receptors and block the more powerful "human" estrogen thus reducing the overall estrogen effect in the body.
Do a Google for this... "Linus Pauling Institute flax estrogen" and you'll find at least one study that supports this.
@kahunka - Xenoestrogens (industrial toxins) are a huge problem and may be responsible for higher estrogen levels in humans but IMHO I think it is wrong to associate these compounds with phyto(plant)estrogens.
If anyone knows a study that show that phytoestrogens cause estrogen-like effects in the body, please show me.
Above all I'm a truth seeker so if I ever though flax could be harmful I would remove this video in a second.
Flax seed has been cherished and consumed since ancient times.
I'm trying to gain clean muscle going from 153lbs to 165lbs I have been eating 2150 cals a day and training for 7 weeks now I have 17% body fat.
Unfortunately I have not gained a single pound what is the correct and accurate way to work out my calorie needs I have been told everything from multiply your body weight by 11 to I need 4000 calories a day, which seems ridiculous. Thanks.
@Talaria7 You don't get muscle from supplements, or any food. You gain muscle by lifting weights because growth hormone is produced from the weight training, that growth hormone gives you muscle growth. The best thing you can do for yourself is better your recovery time. I would recommend Spirulina, Chlorella, Spinach, flax and sprouted grains like buckwheat. You don't need 4,000 calories a day, I get about 1,000 calories a day. With your weight I say 1600-1900. Raw food diet is key.
How do I calculate my calorie needs to gain lean muscle? I weigh 153lbs and 17% bf trying to get to 165lbs and 10% bf. I have been working out 7 weeks now and not gained any weight although I have got stronger.
There's another way to get the ground flaxseed without having to use a coffee grinder and find ways to work it into your food! This product called FlaxFit is a Golden Ground Flaxseed Tablet that just takes the ground flaxseed and puts it in a chewable tablet form. Check it out at flaxfit.com
I like flax seeds and i put them with my smoothies sometimes. I came across this youtube video which said that flax seeds increase estrogen levels, so it is recommended for women, not for men. it's on kevingianni channel.

Hi Kahunka1 Love your videos and your message about live foods!
Just wanted to emntion that I have been reading that large amounts of flax seeds are no bueno. Something about the high estrogene content. any thoughts?
Well Melissa this video is four years old and I just finished eating some ground flax and as far as I know, it has been nothing but beneficial for me through the years.
@chenster420 - Flax contains a variety of vitamins and minerals essential for good health including, iron, vitamin E, the "b" vitamins, magnesium, calcium, sulfur, potassium, phosphorous, manganese, , copper, molybdenum, silicon, chromium, and cobalt, and zinc among others. Flax also contains alpha-linolenic acid which is a plant-based essential omega-3 fatty acid believed to boost insulin sensitivity inside muscle cells. The cells use these fatty acids to build their cells walls with.
@kahunka Oh i see. Do u you know where i can purchase this? maybe in a dominicks or whole foods? And approximately how much should i put in Food? 1 - 2 teaspoons? thanks alot
A very good idea indeed! Never thought of it...always soaked flax seed the night before and gulped it down the next morning. Yuck. So thanks for sharing Michael.
The Budwig diet mentions that the flax oil is not readily absorbed by the body since it is oil soluble. In the Budwig diet you thoughly mix the flax oil and the ground flax seeds with low-fat organic cottage cheese or Low-fat yogurt.. The sulfur content in the milk products convert the flax oil to a water soluble form that is more readily absorbed by the body. What do you think about that?
@bestestbetty absolutly! grind them up if you dont you will poop them all out with our any nutrients! i use the grinder for sunflower seeds too because they are SUPER high in vitamin-D, there really aren't any vegan supplements for vitamin D except those. works good for caocao nibs too.
Flax seed is banned throughout much of Europe and our FDA will not even grant it G.R.A.S. status (generally regarded as safe). I've read that flax can act as both a vitamin B inhibitor and a thyroid interrupter. A far better and safer option is Chia.
I go with a tablespoon of flax and a tablespoon of organic pumpkin seed. Grind these in a coffee bean grinder. Dump them on gluten free cereal with hazelnut milk.
Why does everyone mention that hes got no shirt? He's making videos about being healthy. He's in his 40's and looks amazing. He's showing that he practices what he preaches, and it works.
@Lewis1985 Certainly it doesn't come down to using flax seed or other supplements, dumb ass! The use of steroids is crucial for good results, plus hard work and a decent nutrition, nothing else. Having said so, I also admire this guy and I'm not putting him down.
I like flax, I use it in the same way as him, but I also eat salmon, just in case. I mean, some people say that flax has ALA fatty acids and that they are not as effective as those in fish oil. So, I use both :)
@kahunka I couldn't care less about what you do. I just want information. What you do is what you do and has nothing to do with me or what I do. What you eat has little bearing on your actual "fitness" or a "strong body." You can look fit and healthy in exercise and calorie control.
Wear a tight shirt, it's better than nothing. If that fitness site pays you enough that is.
@martynblackburn1977 - Mostly I do resistance exercises and eat a healthy diet. When I do cardio, I run about 3 miles at the beach barefoot in the softest sand I can find maybe twice a week right now.
u got great pecs dude.. i got some myself .. hell yea flax is awesome.. i got a bag of some ground up flax.. i can eat it with... yogurt.. is best for 1.... i imagine any of that cholesterol ur getting from the yogurt gets flushed right out with the flax....on top of oatmeal makes it dry but its decent.. however flax is way to bitter to eat by itself ide say
I'm allergic to peanuts/nuts etc, so am I allowed to take flax seed oil? Im just wondering if it's related to nuts cause people say it tastes like nutty?
What a great body! Not just hard work and discipline only, also genetics gave his the skeletal structure. Amazing. I hope he keeps making videos, they are very informative. He does have a strange affect, and I hate it when jealous jerks accuse him of being gay because he looks so much better than they do. You creeps better pray that he is gay, cause your wife would leave your sorry ass if she had a shot at him!
Hi Micheal...what are your views on flax meal vs. germinated flax? Do you think we really need to have germinated flax in order to benefit the most? I tried the flax meal ( where it already comes grounded) and its sooooooo good! By the way you have the perfect male body!
Thanks for the video Michael. I've been using flax seed oil since I had laser eye surgery and it really helps for the dry eyes side effects. I didn't believe it would help until I googled "flax seed dry eyes" and saw all the hits. I'm buying in bulk for less than $2 per pound and using the coffee grinder like you suggested. Thanks for the help!
Now why in the hell would one have to do this presentation shirtless? I think someones ego is bigger than their muscles. Good information, but someone seems a little into themself...

@martynblackburn1977 - Mostly I do resistance exercises and eat a healthy diet. When I do cardio, I run about 3 miles at the beach barefoot in the softest sand I can find maybe twice a week right now.

I'm allergic to peanuts/nuts etc, so am I allowed to take flax seed oil? Im just wondering if it's related to nuts cause people say it tastes like nutty?
KyleGrisdaleMusic 2 years ago
I don't know, that is a good question for your allergist.

By the way you have the perfect male body!
buffwahine1 2 years ago 2
Honestly I do not know, I have no personal experience with germinated flax buff, sorry.

Good information, but someone seems a little into themself...
daringgab 2 years ago
1) To get more video views.
2) To show I practice what I preach unlike many of the commenters on here.
