I downloaded BFBC2 from steam and although it installed, I got this:

C:\Windows\system32\XINPUT_3.dill is either not designed to run on windows or it contaions an error.

I have an Asus G73JH with great specs...have no clue what the deal is. i reinstalled both the game and steam a few times now. Can someone help me out??

  • hey dude i was just wondering if u could show me how to fix a CI.dll problem

  • Thank you!!! You saved me. Works on Windows 7 too using a XP recovery disk

  • Found this to be help at all.

Extremely difficult for us to understand this accent and spoken too fast and garbled.. had to keep rewinding and repeating.

Came to a halt when referring to the root c:\

It is NOT accessible via any command

We can change directory to access all other drives, but not root c:\

Therefore the delete boot.ini file command cannot find file or directory.

    Can progress no further.

  • @allabarra756 you don't need to access c:\

just do the attrib command three times, one for each of the (-r -h -s). then the delete command will work.

  • do not man i got error failed to scan help pls

  • after i edit the boot.ini file, the computer boot and after the windows loading screen, the screen turns black and nothing happens, what should i do?

  • Woot, deleted a partition during a :inux install and got this error. Cheers for that.

  • Whenever I boot up the recovery console I do not get the option to press 1 in order to acres the cd. Please help! Is it because I have the wrong windows cd ? Thanks

  • It worked temporarily, and reappeared. I ended up running Windows Repair but then I could not get Windows Updats to run. I then ran System File Checker (Clicked Start, clicked Run type sfc /scannow, and then press ENTER) and also uninstalled IE8 and I was able to run updates. (whew!)

  • Very helpful on an HP reinstall, were HP was clueless. The only thing I could not accomplish was editing the boot.ini; it would not let me save, so I instead lower the timer that gives the option for each OS and it's acceptable boot time. Thanks!

  • Can you help with this problem? I boot up my laptop normally, yep whatever. I log in and it loads for a minute and then my whole screen turns light blue like a default windows colour. It just freezes on that screen, doesn't come up with any text or anything, just a blue screen and a mouse.

  • Thanks a lot! it really helped me a lot, after two days of looking for an answer, this was the best of all.

  • what up man
