scanned the car, got some faults..... there isnt an actual fault code but a description of the problem, Still doesnt help.... any guide or anywhere online to go and speak about that cable.... messaged you a week ago.
QUESTION ISSSS..... Actron or peake? i have a 2004 bmw e46...... Please someone tell me if actron does the job because i love its layout... screen ect...
@XionUnjust Please tell me the name... does it read and dsiplay up to date codes? tbh i dont really want to know the code, i want the machine to tell me exactly what the problem is! have have traction control and tyre pressure fault on dash board.... i dont know why. Please help me out, i really need to buy a diagnostic machine asap.
@tspirit99 Yes, this will tell you codes by SPECIFIC modules on the car, you can check airbag lights, clear them, do coding such as alarm, drl, window up, etc. BUT be VERY careful with what you do. Here is the link hopefully it will show

@XionUnjust I have a 1997 328is. Just visited the link you posted to dealextreme. Will that tool (from the link) reset service warning lights? From looks of it, this diagnostic tool does everything the Peake Research tool and more!
@kmoncada Honestly I'm not sure, just make sure it's for the E36 as well, which it should be. It can do coding, srs lights, codes for each module, etc. I should be getting mine next week. I will make a vid once I get it.

@mss829 Well the car had the fault code, it will go away but it will come back until the problem is fixed. After replacing the sensors the code never came back.
can someone please respond. My 04 E46 seems to have a misfiring, but it is not a constant misfire like in this video. I replaced the spark plugs, and i saw orange circles on all of the coils , seems like the coils are old and have some visible heat damage,or is it a damage or just rust? is it a sign for the coils being bad? seems like it only misfires sometimes, while running normally most of the time. the service light comes and then goes away when the car restarted.
hello i have a 95 bmw 325is..and ive been driving it for a while. about 4 days ago i did a burnout on it and latr my engine light came. idk if this car has a scan port. and idk if something went wrong. it drives just the way it was before. im jus worried about something major. so man help me out. thanks
Hi there Xion, my fog light went out, checked the bulb, and It was good, also the fuse box, and nothing, checked the cables also, another thing I can check? Any suggestions?
@oscarv362370 Sometimes visually checking the bulb is not enough. Is it only one side that is out? I'd swap bulbs and see if the problems follows the bulb or the side where it was out. If the bulb lights up where the other one lights up than the wiring is bad, if the good bulb does light up where the other bulb wasn't on, the bulb needs to be changed.
Hi there Ive got a 2001 525 wagon, I did the brake pads myself and now its coming up with a error message to change the brake linings - can you get rid of that message or do I need to change the sensor?
@heywhatnooo The error is not for brake lines. The light is for a low pad warning, reading your manual helps a lot. If you did no change the sensor you have to. After you replace it, turn the key to position 2 and leave it for 30 seconds and it should turn off.
The actron sux. it only dose powertrain. i need a scanner that will scan my airbag madual bcm ecm tcm and skim maduals. actron cant do any of that. The global 400 can and its can do ten times what the actron can do and its only about 80 bucks more expensive. Well worth it.
hey man i had a CEL so i scanned my car and i got code P9745... i searched the forums and i got this: "P9745: E46 is too hot, mujjuman very cool. Drive fast." I cleared the code and it keeps coming back. Prob cuz I lost the MAF clip yesterday...
hey dude i got a check engine light, and i dont know how to scan my car. i keep getting it and i keep clearing it hoping it solves the problem but it keeps coming back. i even unhooked the battery... any ideas?
hmm i got the check engine soon light , erased the catalyst codes , it appeared again, went to the dealer, they checked the car deleted the codes and now after about 500 miles the light doesnt come up. and the other times it came up after 200 miles. maybe they did something so it doesnt come up? help please. and ur car is sexy.
Only one problem not all ports are in the same location. On my Roadster it's on the passenger side center console.

@mss829 the sensor was bad. I had another code for the other sensor and replaced both

@aleksankazakov you will need to do a procedure for diagnosis.
during the problem perform a
power balance test, that way you can narrow it down to one or just a few cylinders,
analyze compression, cylinder leak down, fuel pressure drop, and spark intensity of the suspect cylinder
this should cover most of the basics for a misfire,

@DKSALMAN I don't think 95's have an OBDII port, I know they have OBDI. Do a google search on that and see how to scan the car with that

I recently got my 323i smogged and after it was smogged the abs, brake and some other yellow light came on. Do you know how to correct it?

It's either a wheel speed sensor or your battery is dying. A DSC module would be last on the list, but most likely it's not that.
