@DarkonMK That's not what you think it is. "Marionation" comes from the word, "Supermarionation" (a portmanteau of "super", "marionette" and "animation"), a puppetry technique devised in the 1960s by British production company AP Films.
Perhaps most people outside of Japan aren't very interested in giant robots, and just want a few things featuring them like the Shogun Warriors comics and toyline, Voltron, Super Sentai/Power Rangers and Transformers.
But that was less-Japanese than the ones I mentioned.
When the first four games in The Legendary Starfy series were released in Japan, Nintendo of America and other worldwide divisions didn't want to localize them, because they were "too Japanese", which is probably one of the reasons why Chosoju Mecha MG was never brought oversees.
@RocMegamanX Not the character, the content throughout the game. If that's not what Nintendo means, then they probably meant "Too much translation required".
I actually like this version better than the Brawl version... this one reminds me of boss confrontation music in Fire Emblem games. It feels like calm soldiers facing subtle peril -- a calm before the storm.
That's just a coincidence. It's called "Marionation", because it's related to "marionettes", which are string-controlled puppets, like the ones seen in the television show, Thunderbirds. This game is about controlling giant mechs based on the style of other giant mechs seen in several Japanese shows like Godzilla, the tokusatsu version of Spider-Man, Super Sentai series, Voltron, Ultraman series, etc. The controls are moved around on the touch screen using the stylus.
And why is that? Is it because you don't like the original version as much as the SSBB version, or is it because you like this version and you are happy about the DS game earning its own arranged song in SSBB?
It is nice that the song got remixed, and thus thrown into the american community. I like brawl's version a bit more only because it sounds a little more realistic.
Well, not every arranged or remixed song is better than their original counterparts. Most fans of the original Mega Man fans prefer the original version of the Wily Castle theme even over vocal, metal and Genesis/Mega Drive versions of it.
Except there are some soft parts in the SSBB version. The original version sounds like it's coming from a microphone, with a touch of techno and bass.
When two people (you and a character in the game) start fighting each other using mechs called "Marionation Gears" (MG). This song doesn't play when fighting some other kinds of mechs, like the ones with one, spinning arm. I'll probably upload a video of where this song can be heard at in the game.
The robots or mechs in this game are called "Marionation Gears" (MG), and that blue one is called the "Warrior Mech Gauss". It's more like a cross between that character from the Super Robot Wars series and the Transformers, because the Warrior Mech Gauss can transform into a race car, as well as slash and shoot energy blasts with its sword. Also, it can add heat or energy to its sword to make it more powerful by twirling it as fast as possible for a short while.
Is it wrong that im into this game, nintendo did it RIGHT.

Kinda looks Gundam Seed-ish from the boxart.

Shame though it could be a Club Nintendo release.

Nothing is too Japanese for some people.Atleast Nintendo could try like what they did with Stafy.

@1983parrothead Starfy couldn't have been THAT Japanese. If Kirby could make it here, why couldn't Starfy?

RoboCommander's use of capitalization gave me an idea:
Isn't it weird how the word "Marionation" contains both "Mario" and "Nation"? Mushroom Kingdom?

So, what does "Chosoju" mean?
GigaNerd17 3 years ago
Chōsōjū Mecha MG (超操縦メカ MG) roughly translates as "Super Control Robot MG".

I heard that they were going to release this game in america. Is this true? (please reply!!)
AcidTyphoon 3 years ago
That's probably a rumor.
1983parrothead 3 years ago
They probably won't but hopefully they will. There is always room for wishfull thinking.
I they do they should call it MarioNation Gear that would be awesome It is because that is what the robots are called
RoboCommander 3 years ago
It probably is rumor, but seeing how Smash brought over Fire Emblem, there's a SMALL chance that featured music could raise interest in the game.

That happens alot actually.

I mean completely made by Nintendo, or was it just developed by a third party and published by Nintendo?

Well it's got trophies, music, and stickers in Smash Bros. Chances are, yeah Nintendo owns this license.
