  • I saw this on TV when I was a young girl (yes they used to show foreign films on TV before there was cable!) and still remember the tears turning into diamonds. This was my first French film.

  • The moment I saw the arms I would have screamed and ran lol.

  • Them statue heads boy... Lol

  • i watched this in first second and third grades so happy someone posted this

  • even though i don't speak French, it is still such a beautiful movie. I was iffy about watching it because of the language barrier. but give it shot!!! this film surprised me in that way!!!

  • When the hand poured him a drink my very first thought was, "Why thank you, Thing."

  • @CheerfulxLotus LOL!!!

  • Would have preferred no subtitles but can't complain. Haven't seen this wonderful film in years.

  • "That dutchess is a smart woman"

    AHA!

  • Ps mon français n'est pas excellent lol

  • Ahhh LA BELLE ET LA BÊTE CE MON FILM TRES FAVORITE 3

  • why does an innocdent duke and prince be punished by being married to them?

  • Uprated and shared. I am a real princess so I like this especially. Bises!

  • the castle scene with her poor lost father at the beast's mansion, the armed candelabra showing him the way to that massive table, with the roaring fire, the smoking statues all staring at him is one of the greatest visions in the history of film.

  • they have this dubbed in English...but the French makes it sound so romantic!

  • @MrShaun42088 I speak French, and I can tell you that the subtitles are less than accurate I'm afraid.

  • My God ... that actress who played Belle is so f**king beautiful. I lover her right now!

  • I adore this film!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I wish I spoke French so I could understand exactly what they say. I love the subtitles, but I always prefer the original words.

  • "Un singe! Je voudrais un singe."

    Her sisters are hilarious.

  • 8:45 FREAKISH MOVING HANDDD! XD I'd have run.

  • Which of the candle holders is Luminere?!(jk)

  • Yea I'm not sure if I would have run from the house screaming or stayed and have not made a sound but I would definitely not drink the drink! Good movie though

  • @SpringOverdose @happytyler41892 I completely agree!!! That has got to be one of the most terrifying things I've ever seen!!!

  • I would love to live in a house like this.

    I simply adore candlelight.

I know I would be very happy here.

    R.W.

  • best movie ever

I'll bet that hand pouring the wine is where they got the idea for "Thing" on the Addams Family

  • This castle is amazing!!!

  • omg that castle is creeeepy!!!!

  • 7:00 they are reversing the footage on the candles to make it look like it's being lit! i just noticed that. lol

  • How would you fall asleep in that situation?

  • 8:41. I really wish i had someone to do that for me!!! =O NO FAIR!

  • *:41. I wish I had people to do that for Me!!! =O

  • the marble heads are amazing!

  • ok first time seeing this film and I gotta say that this part (with all the candles and hands and absolute silence) was terrifying. More scary to me than most horror films in their entirety. God, this was film-making at its finest.

  • I never knew Belle was sarcastic. Damn, those sisters is not close to pretty or even cute. But this Beauty and the Beast version reminds me of Rose Daughter by Robin Mckinley, in contrast, the book portrayed the two sister are really pretty, while bele was called beauty but ironically lacks it. T'was a good version. :)

  • that last fireplace thing was cute lol

  • yes

  • where is this "HQ" located? I can't seem to make anything work...Thanks.

  • T-T this one is really narrow. too. Part 1 is fine, but the rest are all narrow. Could you plz try to reload it? THX!!! this movie is great!

  • I only got the gist of that, but it was kinda funny. xD!

    Drole. :D

  • The castle is gorgeous. What a perfect setting for the story. Love the candle arms.

  • i know right!! its so magical

  • OMG, There is NOTHING like the art of bitching in french! I'M SO IN LOVE, HAHA! I wish I could run in, throw my gloves down and give people what for in parisian french, haha :)

  • Mon film favori...Tom (Marseille, France)

  • Une scène vraiment magique et innoubliable!!!

  • CREEPY w/the candle arms!!!

  • Fabulous!!

  • you're right it is creepy! the moving faces too!!!

  • Jeu merveilleux de Marcel André (le père)dans cette scène au château de la Bête. Il y est merveilleusement dirigé par Cocteau. C'est vraiment là le coeur du film.

  • I love this film! We studied it in my French class as a part of cultural film history!

  • The sisters are mean, but at least they're realistic. I don't know a single girl, whom, upon finding that her father can dig them her out of poverty, would ask for a flower.

  • Have you noticed that this is a farytale?

  • thank you so much!!

  • I hate the sisters! They're so mean!

  • OMG it's the candle holders from Phantom of the Opera! That is so cool

  • i think you will find phantom copied this

  • thank you for posting this movie.
