The 10% of the brain thing is a bit misleading. We have different types of brain cells, some of them are actually just there to protect the other cells.
The exact quote is "face to face with the reality of Jesus."
In other words, in my searching I concluded that He actually was who Scripture claimed Him to be. I would certainly love a personal visit some day but thus far, it has not happened. Sorry for the confusion.
Not at all need to apologise. Actually I find your willingness to engage in further explanation and clarification quite refreshing. However, I do have a slight misgiving with regards to the idea of you claiming to have an exacting knowledge of the reality of Jesus, it is a very broad term (I understand that often the short time span of YouTube videos can be limiting and may cause confusion with regards to exacting definitions). What is this reality?
Is it completely divorced from your own subjective interpretation of reading the text of the bible? If this is the case, how do you achieve this interesting vantage point? How is it possible to create a completely objective understanding of these matters? Also, if this is NOT the case well it kind of shoots holes in the main claims of your rather well written script. Get back to you about this tomorrow. Thanks for taking the time to answer my questions.
You seem less arrogant than the majority of your Christian YouTube friends its quite a tonic. No need to worry Jim I am actually quite respectful assuming I am grated an equal measure of respect. Kind regards,
Arrogance in a Christian is proof that they have not learned humilty as our Lord teaches. If they truly follow Him and mature in their faith however, they will learn one way or another.
Much of my experience is subjective but not all of it. The idea that you can get to a place of belief in Christ without an ounce of faith is ludicrous despite many an apologists efforts. However, when I read and researched the various pieces of evidence that is available, I became convinced. Its a bit like sitting on a jury where the only evidence presented is circumstancial and no smoking gun is in the inventory. However a clear verdict can still be determined in my opinion.
As you've gathered in comments below, perhaps the disconnect is in my use of the English language. All this statement was meant to convey is that my former view of Christ was shattered as I came to investigate and personally conclude that he was not just a man but rather a very significant, supernatural redeemer. In my opinion my former view was grossly in accurate and my new view is the real one. Hope that helps.
Please forgive me I am form the UK. We simply fail to understand the intricacies of Americanisms. Looking forward to your response. My warm and kind regards,
