@wakyuz I'm not exactly sure why, however, i imagine he would have been pissed off with being screwed over by his government, being forced to kill his mentor/lover, for no reason but to retain neutral with the USSR. Furthermore, when he established MSF, he done so, that soldiers could not be used by the world Givernments to be exploited for mere purposes. He only shook the Presidents hand because he pretty much had to as a sign of respect.

When I first saw this ending, I was silent. Because everything in the game came together at this exact moment, all of the questions you still had were answered. How The Boss had to take the fall for politics, that's it. I think that's why Big Boss (Snake) was silent at the end. That's why he did not talk to Signet, Para-Medic, or Major Zero. He KNEW what the future held, and what he might have to do. The American government that he fought to protect, he now had to fight against. That's it.
