  • this is the energy i wanna hear

  • I actually did not really have much interest in Hilary Hahn up until I heard this. Wonderful, thanks for uploading.

  • 2 persons missed click.

  • FASTA! FASTA!

  • I got the book, fom my teacher, without CD, but I'll find it on the library (: THANK U!

  • Hi, I play the violin myself, and I have to play this piece with a boy on my age, I have to play he second violin, but can't find a place, where you can listen to that, and only that. Is there a chancce that you could upload this part, with only second violin? -It doesn't have to be good quality... (:

  • @TheTMillard The double concertos are in the suzuki books. i believe the second violin part is in book four but im not sure. If you figure out what book it is in, you can buy the book with the CD and the CD has a recording of just the second part. Thats how i learned it =]

  • I rather enjoy the upbeat tempo. I suppose there is a place for different interperetations. This is quite sublime.

  • Too FAST TEMPO: BACH WITH NEVROSIS IN TIME OF ECONOMIC CRYSIS

  • my 5 year old daughter loves this!

  • @kelts11 and ? He can't even feel it...

  • @kelts11 and ? He can't even feel it...

  • @kelts11 and ? He can't even feel it...

  • Are these girls violinists or a runners?. The right tempo? Why is to defy the consensus a merit? To play perfectly is to play with feeling, not to show virtuosism. And here there is no feeling. This is badly played. Sure Bach would dislike this.

  • Normallly when Hilary plays I can differentiate it from other violinists, but in this compose she sounds exactly Nigel Kennedy.

    watch?v=0dwgIadE3IM&feature=related

  • Yes!

  • This is the RIGHT TEMPO!!!! Well done for being brave and defying the consensus.... Bach shines through! If you ever need a pianist who can keep up look me up!

    Koteche McIntosh!

  • @TheKoteche The "RIGHT TEMPO?" ....Well, Papa Bach is fortunate to have you as the keeper of the eternal truth of tempi. Tell me...do you descend from a long order of Guardians of the "RIGHT TEMPO?"

  • Que prisa!

  • dont you think its too fast? at this speed, tho incredibly beautiful, its hard to catch all the beautifulness of this song, it should be more of a reflexion song than one that one have to focus all its attention just by hearing it

  • i love how fast it is. =]

  • I really like this....many may say that its too fast, but i really love this tempo for these two violinists. its works out perfectly for them and i think it would drag a little if it were any slower

  • mucho ruido y 0 nueces....

  • a ver si es posible por favor tocarlo como el doble de rapido ok?? por que es que aburre, es demasiado lento...me cago en la ostia...pero donde coño vais?? esto no es fernando alonso cojones...

  • Faster than I've ever heard it played, and yet, still so clean, precise.

  • Fast and non musical

  • Can you upload the second movement, please?

I don't think it's been uploaded, is that right?

  • @melodyofLeCygne2 Of Course =)

  • Ja, wie alles gesagt, das war sehr schön, ausgezeichnet, aber zu schnell.

  • Hilary played Bach with a beautiful tone!

  • This is only 3:16, but it feels like an eternity. I love it.

  • This is the way I like it, definately not too fast!! Just the way it should be played! Hilary is just awesum!!!

  • this is a double violin concert, she try to keep up rithm and the

    the orchestra

  • Is too fast but the performance is so great.

    Love it!

  • For my taste, it's played too fast. But it's still impressive - you can hear every single note she's playing. Great Hilary!

  • Don't you wish you could play this fast ans still perfect-she can and how.

  • Is she in some kind of hell bent rush to play every single tune in the entire repertoire as quickly as humanly possible?

Hopefully she will continue in this vein and her career will end as quickly as she plays...

Just terrible. Machine like. Absolutely zero expression is possible at this rate of notes.

Who is advising her to do this? She'll end up with a catalogue that later generations will laught at!

    260 bpm, BTW

  • @jeff77hatt was tempted to agree but found that, miraculously, on 3rd and 4th hearing what hiterto seemed aloof and carelessly machine-like became joyously demure and understated: there is hardly another interpertation of the double concerto where I had the impression that both violinists stood back to make room for the music. I like it now. Maybe you want to try listening again?

  • @1972sissi I have done. This tune is supposed to last roughly four minutes, yet she plays is so very fast that it loses almost 45 seconds...! Thats quite a lot isn't it? It's a vivace and so it should be lively, not frantic, as this is to my ears.

I can play it this fast, but only without thought - it feels as if the song is trying to pull itself back to its normal, natural state of being. I think rather than displaying passion here, she displays utter boredom with her own virtuosity.

  • @jeff77hatt I hear ya! And I appreciate the fact that you are willing to argue your side and that you have a strong argument regarding the vivace which is ultra-vivace, so much so that I do see your point. After all, there is just no arguing with matters technical. It isvery fast. Luckily, for me, this doesn't jar in my ears as much as it seems to in yours. For me, after the initial shock of hearing this in almost double speed to what I'd been used to, the clinical detachment worked.

  • I can just feel the energy coming from her instrument and her bow strokes. It seems almost tangible. :)

  • too fast - but exquisite playing!

  • what a piece of crap

  • as far as I'm concerned they can play it at what ever tempo they want .... beautiful

  • slow down ladies, what is the rush? She does sound a little like Isaak Stern here which is a high complement indeed. The second is a little inarticulate though.

  • everyone can notice that she is very talented, but she's playing it too fast for my taste.

  • @rodrigocuquejo I play it faster. Definitely not well though :p

  • Terrific! Accurate rhythm and intonation drawn out one after another. I like it!

I just felt passion in it! and the tempo also suits me. It never makes me get tired....I love it!

  • she kind of looks like a vampire... she would make a good cast of Twilight

  • @TempoFurioso aha! LOL

  • ooop, somebody's on acid!, there was no need to make it this fast.

  • Heifetz.. Yes, I love him, too.. He plays it faster than Oistrakh and Menuhin, but slower than Hilary Hahn... but.. she does play it very well..

  • Thank you cantante53 - I love Hilary Hahn's playing and regard her as one of the top violin playing talents of the last 50 years. I used to play this with my teacher and he used the 1950s recording of the two Oistrakhs as the model and Heifetz and Heifetz (an early version of someone playing both parts!). They played it slower then Hilary!

  • yes.. you can add issimo to any adjective in Italian to make it a superlative

  • Beautiful playing but for me, too fast! Just because you can play it this fast doesn't mean you have to. Even Heifetz plays it slower! This movement is allegro they were playing "allegrissimo"! (is there such a word?) HA!

  • @tachuman I agree.. Superb and moving, but the speed detracts from appreciating rich melody.. I love this piece!

  • @cantante53 and Oistrakh

  • @tachuman This is actually a Vivace, not an Allegro.

  • Hilary totally understands Bach.

  • The number 33 has presented itself to me a lot lately.

33 five ratings. Obviously a message from higher sources. By higher I mean more expanded, less dense, more rarified, more fresh, less with a brown, red, orange, yellow color, more with green (heart), blue (throat), indigo (brow), violet (top of the head, spiritual perfection in physicality). Spirituality with an attitude. Imagine the star of David in its heavenly glory, you victims of post-modern conditioning! :)

  • who is the other soloist?

  • @Arch5280 --MARGARET BATJER, violin II--in LOS ANGELES CHAMBER ORCHESTRA

  • i just got the sheet music for this for both parts, i can't wait to learn both parts!!

  • This is SOOOOO fast!!!

  • Yeah, now I think this is the best speed at which to play the piece. I'm totally used to it now :) THIS IS SO WONDERFUL!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't wait for her new album :D

  • She playes this really fast!

  • This is played hellla fast. But perfectly

  • @xXJohnnymac16Xx Yes, perfectly said.

  • @xXJohnnymac16Xx I wouldn't say its too fast, however it is a little above tempo. Still played beautifully.

  • This is amazing.

I really need to find this album.

And I really want to see this live now. haha

  • Seeing this live would be great.

  • YES !!! I FOUND IT !!! :D

    Amazing. 5 Stars.
