  • The drummer is a "dead" ringer for Keith Moon.

  • love that drums/guitar mix

  • I remember when they played in Sydney - northern beaches, this was the last song, and a chick on some guys shoulders ripped off her top and threw it around when this song came on... and I still managed to see the band... a little

  • *---* LINDOS

  • Best song ever. Doesn't get better than this as attested by the shows and commercials that still steal this song today.

  • the drummer slash singer lookes funny when he's singing

  • In honor of ZhuZhu Pets Quest For Zhu.

  • good 80's music

  • Good music 80's -

  • 50s kicked ass

    60s sucked

    80s kicked ass

  • @SuperKingOfSwing1 ummm wat about the 70's

  • @09elementman I have no clue

  • @SuperKingOfSwing1 Are you freakin' serious right now? "The '60s sucked"? Counterargument: 1. The Beatles. 2. The Rolling Stones. 3. The Who. 4. Led Zeppelin (who released their first album "Led Zeppelin I" in 1969). 5. The Jimi Hendrix Experience. 6. Cream. 7. Aretha Franklin (who released her amazing album "I Never Loved a Man (the Way I Love You)" in 1967). And not just Aretha, but the whole explosion of Motown in the '60s . 8. The Doors. More than enough said.
  • Camp Snoopy!

  • Simple, hard driving, energetic rock and roll! I love it!

  • It don't come easy.

  • This was a great song to stomp and trash a plywood dance floor. HEY!

  • HEY!.

  • 118 people prefer that shitty cover by Lillix.

  • What I like about you singers / rockers you all are so hot

  • To the 118 people who dislike this video -

There's nothing I like about you.

  • @axt947 they dont have a clue what good music is......

  • this song is in every KID MOVIE TRAILER!!

  • wow i'm amazed. I never even heard of these guys before. Now i'm a fan.

  • Damn Jimmy Marinas doesn't get the credit he deserves for singing lead as a drummer. Very few have done it over the years and his name never gets mentioned. Only guys like Don Henley, Phil Collins, Peter Criss, etc...

  • @cleanandsober2009

Ringo Starr was also a drummer who sang lead sometimes. :)

  • yaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!

  • never heard the uk subs tune, but if it sounds like this one, then it also rips off "Cherry Cherry" by Neil Diamond, and he probably stole the riff from someone else! Hard to find anything original...

  • @JClaus1221 No pun intended, but i don't think so.

  • who's song is this originally? just wondering....

  • @CADC103 Your listening to the original. :)

  • @CADC103 This is it, the Romantics were the first...

  • I was thinking they had a lot more hair than this...

  • Gawd this takes me back. I remember seeing these guys live is a tiny hole in the wall bar in Detroit way back before they hit it big time, thinking..."Man, I wish the rest of the country could hear how good these guys are.." Then again there's alot of bands like that here and always have been throughout the years.

  • This song is just a giant rip-off of "Tomorrows Girls" by the UK Subs. New Wave sucked.

  • @zebraattack I went and listened to both and while 'tommarows girls'' did come out in 1979 and (and is a pretty cool song) 'what i like about you' came out in 1980 I dunno. if I was on a jury ready to hand the UK-Subs money for plagerism I'd say you as their lawyer have a weak case. Your right both songs have the same chord structure in the begining.but thats it, now If both songs were exact in pattern, chord structure and had the same beginning middle and end then i'd 100% agree.

  • Geniales todos de l a banda

with this song will always be remembered

  • Better than the Beatles!

  • i prefer the poison's version :3

  • This harmonica solo is the coolest thing since gravity. This song is all that is awesome. Now excuse me, I'm going to go dance in my underwear like a drunken Shaman.

  • classic instantly recognizable jangley guitar intro...great high school memories lol!

  • Danced to this like crazy when I was in college. So fine.

  • Thanks for posting Joyce'…Yeah..xo

  • LOVE this song!!! The Lillix version is good too, but The Romantics version will always be the best. Great to see the original video. Thanks for the post :=)

  • LOVE LOVE and LOVEEEEEE THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • One of the greatest Rock songs of all time!!!!

  • OOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWW

  • the pepsi commercial with the girl danceing in the sand...well put to use!

  • Hey, uh, huh, huh

    Hey, uh, huh, huh wahhhhhh

Hey, uh, huh, huh, hey, hey, hey

    Hey, uh, huh, huh

    Hey, uh, huh, huh, hey

wow, great lyrics, this must have taken a long time to write this song.

  • How the hell can anyone dislike this?

  • amo esta cancion

  • Yay :D

  • Crisp

  • Those Rickenbachers sound AMAZING on this song!

  • You cannot play this song at anything less than CRANKED UP!!

  • GREAT TUNE from the 80's era !

  • @wxmyjnsn Right back attcha.

  • the drummer is intense. hot!

  • drumming+singing=pure talent

  • @mjbeatle94 So odd to see the words "drumming" and "talent" in the same post.

  • @ronshirt Woah... "drummers are talentless" joke... real original.

Go back to your Spinal Tap.

  • @mjbeatle94 drumming+lip syncing= i can do it

  • Great party song.

  • phonetic variable what i like about 'u' ad infinitum. Charles Dodgson Alice in wonderland. Snark attack!

  • i remember the pepsi commercial in the 80s with this song...the girl dancing in the sand...all i can say..sweet sweat...made thirsty to have a frio cervesa con senorita!

  • @Onepersonsopinion I'm not sure where he'd rank all-time...I loved his power style of playing, energy, and passion and I think, he had a great rock n roll voice. Unfortunately, he just didn't have the longevity or body of work of the drummers you mentioned. You are right though...he was entertaining.

  • @ericb36 Merry Christmas. I usually don't like posting comments on Youtube because too often people will respond saying "you are an a*hole" or "shut the f up" or whatever. You were civil and I appreciate that.

    Happy New Year too

  • This song will never fade away. It brings back the fun that, somehow, was left behind.

  • 0:33 i swear that's Justin Long

  • So simple the words, just as The Beatles, but it´s so good!

Saw Wally with Ringo and it´s great!

  • I'm 13 nd I think if real music like this played more often then kids wouldn't act like dumbasses

  • Starring Amanda Bynes as Holly.

  • THIS IS MUSIC!!!!!!!!!!!

  • id be a real treat if i got a few likezies for this little comment of mine...u know

  • great song

  • 0:37 miss swan smile :)

  • The aongs called "what i lile about you". Not "what i like about phil collins"!

  • Ahh, sweet 70s....

  • I like this song!

  • It just dont get, any better, than this!

  • I think if stuff like this played on the mainstream radio, it'd be more popular than any Justin Bieber song out there!

  • These guys are crazy!!! But they are GREAT!!! They just don't make'em like this anymore.

  • Fierce. Try to have this much power in your little rock band, girls and boys. Just try.

  • 2 hits and done..oh well thats was the 80s!!

  • Luvvvvvvvv this!

  • Good song but i've heard it way too many times

  • everithing :)

  • songs like this you didnt need to know the lyrics, you could understand the words, not like of today when all they do is scream.excellent beat and great to dance to

  • @blondie19651 true

  • Temazo *-* lml

  • The First and only Really Cool Video showing the drummer rocking and singing at the same time.

  • @oksooner405 Never seen Phil Collins? ;)

  • @993ti Phil Collins never played and sang like this...not even close!

  • @ericb36 well i like this song but if you want to compare raw talent and amazingness these guys don't hold a candle to phil collins these guys fit their niche and came out with an awesome songs but they can't stand against the pure wave of awesomeoness that was phil collins thats like comparing michael jackson to any other artist you just can't do it

  • @ericb36 How about Peter Criss - Kiss, Kelly Keagy - Night Ranger, Gil Moore - Triumph?

  • @Onepersonsopinion All very talented musicians in their own right....I just think Jimmy Marinos was a very underrated drummer.

  • @ericb36 I forgot Don Henley of the Eagles as well. I'm a fan of the Romantics & I think Marinos is a competent & entertaining drummer, but if I list my Top 50 drummers, he doesn't even enter my mind, just my opinion. Yours is too.

I'm not a musician, but 1 thing I notice about him is with the drum in front of him (snare drum?). He seems to hit it along the side not the middle part. I don't know anyone else who does that. He does it in "Talking" & "When I Look in your Eyes" videos too.

  • Another good song not played.

  • Singing while playing the drums? That's so hard to do, why can't people have talent anymore?

  • @aknightofnee didnt phil collins do that in his early solo career?

  • The Romantics played Trenton State College a few years after this hit. I heard they really sucked. Drummer drummer Jimmy Marinos had left the band and Wally Palmar sang this song. I heard he spit a lot when he sang. I also heard the band came on super late that night.

  • my class is doing this song for our dance!

    XD

  • this is Detroit it's always been here

  • 50 likes and i will sing this at my school talent show :)

  • @awesomeguy2371 or you could just do it anyway? stop pussyfooting around and asking for likes as though your life is empty.

  • @awesomeguy2371

I also want you to take a video of yourself singing it

  • ski vacation 1982--buncha girls rockin out to this in the bed of a pick-up truck

me wonderin--WTF? I wuz missin out! lol

  • Must have been hell doing this song live -- trying to drum AND sing so aggressively all at the same time. It's great though!

  • Great song, nice video but methinks it's lip-synched.

  • @museack Generally, ALL music videos are lip-synched...

  • great dance song...

  • Detroit!!

  • @lsdisposablehero harmonica = in a. these guys are talented as fuck. they master everything and with everything i mean everything. kick ass drummer/vocalist, master lead guitarist (look at the speed of his hand in the beginning, he is def. in the zone) great ryth. guitarist/ awesome harmonica player wally. and a good bass player. i just hate all those fuckers of today, i hate them with every fiber in my body. i really do not understand why people are keep buying their shit.

  • anybody know what kind of harmonica he uses in terms of key or tuning or whatever it is that harmonicas are classified into?

  • Lol he looks like a pirate at 2:36

  • sherylmillerhomes@gmail.com

Don't get scared baby-please, just enjoy

  • WHATEVER HAPPENED TO TALENT LIKE THIS?

  • @beautyjudge These days they're all doing covers at talent shows, trying to impress the juries of former one-hit wonders and the armies of losers who make up their ratings. Sad world we live in….
