thank you for this, i am 21 years old and there is a little girl on her way. About a month ago test results for the 2nd trimester screening came back, they said i had a 1/99 chance of having a baby with down syndrome. This video helped me to understand how much the doctors don't think about the small percentage of us that would not terminate our pregnancy, or even risk causing a miscarriage. I've chosen not get get poked with a needle and thank you
I just wanted to tell you that your video is a god send, just yesterday i got a call from my doctor saying that my blood test for down syndrome came back abnormal, she said that there is a chance your baby may have this problem, She wants me to go to another doctor that does the amniocentesis and i have made my mind up and im am not doing it i feel the same way about this situation as you do. I will love my child anyway that god gives it 2 me w/or w/out down syndrome. God bless you and ur baby.

They offered it to you because it's their job. 90% of women will abort a fetus with birth decfect because a lot of people feel selfish bring a sick child in to the world just so they don't feel bad. When you're under 30, 1:44 is a high risk and the miscarriage risk %1 but each to there own.Your right women sholudn't feel forced in to it but I think some peoples comments here are so out of line.
Omg they said the same thing to me about my oldest daughter said that she had a 1% chance of having downsyndrome but they did ask if i wanted the amniocentesis and of course i said no than she asked me if i wanted to abort the pregnancy and i told her no mama i want my baby so if she is born with something wrong i will deal with her because she is mine!!! but she is fine
That is good you declined. When my mom was pregnant with my sister they suggested her to take that test because they thought my sister had a birth defect. My mom refused and my sister is now a healthy 16 year old making staight A's in high school. So continue to trust in GOD not man.
I am glad you made this video. I was i guess a lil clueless w my preg at the time ( my son is 4 now) I didnt go for the amnio test because it was raining heavy and i cldnt make my appt and just never went back. I was preg at 27 too ... he is a healthy handsome boy and i wldnt want anyone poking my tummy either. Goodluck with everything...... blessings :-)
