@cloudvszell Well to be fair about it, Paul Martin cut the transfer payments to the provinces one hell of alot to balance his books. That was a very bad time with most provinces going into debt heavily. If the liberals had maintained the transfers like the conservative have, they would have been in a large deficit.
Never the less, the current conservative government is not conservative enough, all government programs have to be reduced by about 20% and union pensions by 40% to help.

What we need in Canada is a real conservative movement to cut government spending and reduce the wasteful government programs before we end up like Greece.
We can not increase government spending by 6% per year when our GDP only goes up by about 3%.
The conservatives are bad but they are the best of what is around at this time, the liberals and NDP would have spent double.

@cloudvszell Well to be fair about it, Paul Martin cut the transfer payments to the provinces one hell of alot to balance his books. That was a very bad time with most provinces going into debt heavily. If the liberals had maintained the transfers like the conservative have, they would have been in a large deficit.
Never the less, the current conservative government is not conservative enough, all government programs have to be reduced by about 20% and union pensions by 40% to help.
