  • I have this movie with english caption. This movie was made very well and i have seen it many times.

  • 『天と地と』 (ten to chi to) "The Heaven and the earth" I just watched this film pretty epic movie... love this end sequence so beautiful

  • Comment removed

  • what the movies name?

  • @Syronz90 zzzzzz IF YOU WATCH THIS VID. YOU SHOULD KNOW IT ALREADY!

  • @Syronz90 『天と地と』 (ten to chi to) "The Heaven and the earth"

  • @Mr Waffles. That was because of Bushido! the way of the warrior. they fought several battles after this one was fought and each man respected the other. in fact I think Shingen sent salt to help Kagetora's people one time.

  • KEIREI!!! SALUTE!!!!! Those guys fought like tigers! Those were MEN who fought!

  • The best movie about Samurai warfare ever filmed. Period.

  • thank you for sharing

  • tokugawa ieyasu and his master oda nobunaga could never beat these military geniuses

  • Damn that was BEAUTIFUL!!!

  • Holy shit that swordplay is horrible. No samurai would EVER contact blade against blade. You block with the side of the sword.

  • I love the music that plays in this scene. The soundtrack is one of the reasons why I love this movie. ^^

  • samurais wore plate armour? O_O

  • @doyouknowmeidont Sumrais looked for always novel fashion.

They got interested in the exotic design of plate armors which European mariners had, and referred to it.

  • i watched this movie being made when i was 10 lol love it!

  • I find this scene to be very cathartic.

  • Never seen this but I do want to see it now!

  • At the end, why do all the Takeda infantry part and let Kagetora and his cavalry run through? Shouldn't the Takeda soldiers fight him? Sorry if this seems like a dumb question, I haven't seen the whole movie yet....

  • @MrWafflesMcWafflesx7 Takeda was the aggressor. There is so much death at this point in the film. Kagetora was a just ruler and he was only defending his lands so when he and Takeda met with their swords the loser could admit defeat and there needn't be any more death. That's my understanding anyway. I'd love to see this movie again someday, it's been a long time.

  • this is so hard to find in England (Region 2), can anybody help please.

  • I wonder.. Usesugi and Takeda were great warriors.. why did neither ever unify Japan?

  • @kempaku982 busy killing each other when your opponent is equally as intelligent as you are it usually ends in a stalemate this was the only pitched battle they fought in the sengoku period 4 others were minor skrimishs they both died of old age

  • @Trolleymctrolltrolls Actually neither died of natural causes.. Shingen were fatally wounded by an arquebus while beseiging an enemy castle, while Uesugi died from stomach cancer or even wounds inflicted by a ninja attack on him in his toilet

  • lol

  • just hit his horses fucking head.... dumb ass

  • Takeda ftw!

  • Hold the guiness record for the most horses used in a movie if im right

  • @MADWOLF2012 I agree this movie is good, but for that record, you must check out Chinese's three kingdoms movies. They use at least 2000.

  • CG aint got nothing on this.. not even Avatar

  • Thanks for uploading this. Saw this as a preteen on Bravo (when that channel was good) and I was blown away by it. To this day it's still one of my favorite war films, and led to my love for Japanese history.

  • sword fighting here is good.. its uncutted unlike many other american movies

  • this mkes me wanna do a Takeda Campaign, anyone wanna be my ally/enemy in cmapaign ? as the Uesegi ;)

  • @quezcatol i might be interested if u want i prefer toukugawa bbut hey well see u mean shogun toal war 2 right ?

  • its amazing how many actors are on screen and in formation. this makes cgi animation look like toys

  • only 1 will become shogun .

  • I love Kurosawa's movies. I know this one is not from Kurosawa but could you tell me who was the director please ? (I'm french so i'm sorry if I commit mistakes)

  • Nice post rudbwoy74, I fell in love with this movie when I was 19 or 20, still don't own it but regularly scan the net for pieces of footage.

  • do they do the tortise formation?lol

  • when did this movie come out? many years ago i watched this movie, same one?

  • Awesome fight, with such a beautiful song to see it happen to.

  • This is the best part of the movie, Both sides saluted each other at the end! It was Glorious!

  • where is the bowmen?

  • whats the story behind kagetora and nami

  • Shogun 2 Total War.... Enough Said...

  • @Gulliman01 LOL quoted :-)

  • @Gulliman01 Graphics are the same as the game so yes.

  • 經典!

  • TEN TO CHI TO

  • I saw this in 1998 and I loved it, I also love the music in this scene. But ever since then I've been trying to remember the name to this film.

  • I love the samurai so much i am learning Japanese.

Konichiwa Hajimimashite Nixon Darwin desu dozo yoroshiku.

    How am i doing?

  • even the gods likes this movie .

  • shingen fought on foot with a steel fan, not on horse with a sword.....o well,

  • @jaha111

that was an isolated incident that turned into a legend.

  • 0:56 lmao ! scared face much? =p

  • I was in Japan and i wanted to but like a Japanese Sangoku series and they costed like $1000

  • ...Red ants vs. Black ants :)

  • One great movie

  • Amazing, I just love Shingen and the Takeda army. Pretty epic music and fight, Uesugi Kenshin sure was a impressive warrior, not just a competent leader.

  • Uesigi Kenshin vs Takeda Shingen at the fourth skirmish/battle of Kwanakajima...epic......just epic....

  • Great Film! Wish it was available on DVD.

  • i have it on dvd you just gotta look around:D

  • Where can I watch it.

  • @rudbwoy74 I cant even find it on DVD online

one of the best Samurai movies ever made

one of the best war films ever made

one of the best love movies ever made

truly epic in every sense of the word

  • @M40A3 where i cant get it???

  • @william91pr go to ebay and type in Ten to Chi to American DVD

    I found a copy for 6 bucks

  • @M40A3 LOL thanks, what languages are aviables in dvd??

  • @william91pr Only in Japanese but the movie includes English subtitles

its pointless to watch a foreign movie in anything but the language it was filmed in.

when this movie came out it was $78.99 on VHS

  • @rudbwoy74 Can you tell me whats the sound track?

  • @eliskander It is available on DVD. I bought mine off Ebay many years ago. Someone took it so I have to go buy it again now!

  • Kenshin and his nemesis Shingen.. awesome

  • Japanese Samurai have different color and amour back then. just for F Y I and it is japanese fashion. This is old time and the Spain people give them guns and cannons. Japanese did discover this till later on. Wait they did but didn't know how it works when Kobu Khan try to take Japan

  • @Nankony not Spain Portuguese.

  • I just saw this movie the other night for the second time that I can recall. And as always enjoyed it. Though there are things that I don't completely understand about the samurai and the way the think and behave, in battle. The movie was a superb war epic. Wished I had in my collection.

  • epic movie, watched this many times in different feudal japan classes I took.

  • Hello mindenkinek!

Tudja valaki, hogy ehhez a filmhez honnan lehetne magyar feliratot letölteni?

  • The body armour worn by the samuai i silver black looked like Spanish style in the 16 centuries, quite differ from traditional Japanese fashion.

  • You could make an argument based on the fact that they imported tons of crap from the Netherlands/Spanish empires. To have a full suit of armor like that is a symbol of his rank, amongst other things.

  • Can't we all just get along?

  • i have a weird feeling i saw this movie before...

  • I LOVE THIS MOVIE

  • Kagetora and Singen is a boast of Japan.

  • LOl someone was swimming in the river? LOL..

  • Takeda Shingen?

  • the bad side, the ones on the horses

  • My Dad was in that movie, as a samuri

  • which side he's on?

  • Greatest war classic ever.

  • get of horse finish him then do one

  • love the music

  • 北方の守護神 毘沙門天の化身

    生涯、義を貫いた名将

    上杉輝虎公 素敵です!

  • Bull-shit-do at its best

  • Got to agree.. i always liked this film, but thought this 1v1 scene was horribly done. It's the epitome of what goes wrong in epic movies when you have to guys who are just slapping nerfbats around and trying not to crack up =/

  • The sword play and fighting scene are horrible. The costumes are incredible though.

  • truly a masterpiece

  • This is a great movie!

  • LOng Live Takeda Shingen the Master of bushido

  • One of my favorite Samurai movies along with Ran. I would like to watch it again online.

  • I found the dvd for Ran, but i don't like it. I like this better when i watched it in the 90's. More fight scenes.

i do hope to be able to find the dvd or torrent for heaven & earth.

know anywhere to watch it already?

  • @GioNToji they got it on isohunt as a torrent

  • Thanks rudbwoy74 im downloading it as im typing this.

Wow...never expected that my 7 months old comment are to be replied by anyone lol

    -Appreciate the info :)

  • @GioNToji hahah sorry for the lateness:D try dl ran and kagemusha on that site:D

  • Of course, in the true Senkoku history, Kenshin's lost almost 30% of his army as he decided to retreat from the battlefield of Kawanakashima when Shigen's reinforcemnet had arrived to save their lord. But as we consider purely about the scene, Heaven and Earth is no doubt the classic, not only the movie itself, but also the history of two heroes!

  • stop ruining this movie with your "truth" =)

  • すばらしいですね!

  • This movie is a classic!

  • low budget LOL ... had to be enxpensive like hell

  • yeah I heard the expenses were pretty ridiculous for that time

  • where i can watch full this movie and ran also ?

  • Is the title of this movie Heaven and Earth? If not, what is the title?

  • thats the english title the japanese title is "ten to chi to"

  • I love this movie but the guy in silver at the start looks like he is fighting animal from the muppet show... sorry but thats the first thing i thought of when I saw his bright red-orange hair wig....WOMAN...WOMAN,,,,,,,

  • hahah thats funny thats takeda.. lots of warlords look up to him back then the way he governed his land.. if only he didnt die early it would have been a diff story

  • I love this movie and the historical figures, but my mind jumped to the muppet memory, I cant help it. Next time you watch this think of animal on the drums.

  • will try next time hahahahaha have a nice day

  • does anyone know any over films like this ?

  • try "RAN" you might like it or "kagemusha"

  • great movie. I loved watching it.

  • 【毘沙門天】の化身

  • Takeda Shingen, the beast.

  • i never see this film! hmmm kagetora ... kage mean shadow and tora mean tiger ...

  • i really like the music they had in this movie, really fit well with the movie

  • This was & is an excellent movie. I truly enjoyed the cultural aspect of it. The first time I watched this movie was in 1994. It was on cable tv in Okinawa Japan. My family & I had just recently arrived and we were staying in a military TLF named "SHOGUN Inn" on Kadena AB.

  • Yes.he is called the god of war.

  • kagetora Nagao (Kenshin Uesugi) is the strongest this Warring States Period general

    of the part.

It is thought that he is the strongest even in history of Japan in the war in Japan.

    Genius of war

  • Yet it was the political acumen of Tokugawa that led him to victory even though he wasnt as accomplished militarily. Oda made the cake, Hideyoshi baked it but it was Tokugawa who ate it as the saying goes

  • Shouldn't it be Kenshin instead of Kagetora

  • never mind thats him

  • AWESOME I am sooo waching this!!! did the make this with English subs?

  • YEs.

  • What's up bro? Why did you leave that comment on my page and then block me from responding. What's up with that. Kind of a pussy move wouldn't you agree?

  • awsome black samurai armor

  • This movie reminds me of my Heritage and its warriors...Greetings to the samurai and honorable Japanese ....From the Turkic world

  • i love the music in this

  • This movie is a fucking legend.

  • @spectergohan

I can't find this movie anywhere to buy, and I live in the UK >.< wtf, i want it!

  • @arkadian87 i feel your pain ... such a great movie .. i saw it from the library 10 years ago and now i wish i stole it

  • Can anyone upload this movie on youtube or cruncyroll? Love this movie... I search Heaven and Earth but come up chinese. Damn it...!

  • if u use utorrent u can download it

  • i tried but its licensed man-_-"

  • great music

  • kagetora damiyo of enchigo useugi kenshin

  • LORD SHINGEN!

  • Why does Shingen's army let Kagetora ride through?

  • the battle was over and it looks cool for the film

  • Because it's a pretty famous legend that he led a charge through Takeda lines straight into his camp, unless I'm mixing things up.

  • Never mind, I see what you mean now. I have no idea.

  • it was just kagetora and his bodyguard that whent throw and he meet shingen and roud by him and swang his sword shingen def him self with his fan and then he left

  • The fourth battle of Kawanakajima was a considerable fierce battle.

The number of soldier of Takeda is 20,000.

    Uesugi is 18,000.

60% or 70% was killed or injured each other.

  • Shingen's outfit looks like from the PS2 game Samurai Warriors 2..xP

  • this movie was released in 1990 so im sure that koei desided to use this outfit for shingen takeda also his outfit wasnt the only one i noticed at the start of the movie there was a sword that looked exactly like kenshins sword in SW and sometime later after nami passes away the outfit kagetora had on looked simular to kenshins in SW that leads me to believe that some ppl from koei did like this movie alot

  • actually, Shigen outfit was suppose to look like that and Kenshin outfit was what look like in Nobunaga Ambition 11 and 12 , the one where his head had to cover with white cape like what it was in original painting of the 16 century .

If you go on Wiki, you will see even the statue does resemble what I am talking about :).

  • great movie, the music is also great.

  • Classic Movie...

  • You can catch the entire movie on free US movie channels like Flix once in a while..

    Great movie..cinematography is unbelievable!

  • i wanna watch this any sites that have the full movie?

  • Try buying the DVD instead.

  • almost impossible to find this kind of movie where i live

  • hu was dat fighting wif shingen takeda???

  • uesegi kagetora

  • Although not entirely accurate I enjoyed this film. Some of the music I could have done without but the final music as the two fight and as Kenshin rides thru Shingen's army is great.

  • ive been lookin for this ost.. you know where i can find em?

  • ost?

  • yes:)

  • uh, what's ost? You lost me there.

  • the one that you like:) the ending song.. do you know where to get it??

  • oh, didn't know that was the name. Sorry haven't a clue. The movie doesn't have wide distrubution I'm afraid so the soundtrack is probably even more difficult to get a hold of.

  • thansk anyway ive just been lookin everywhere for that ending song ;(

  • historically, yamamoto kansuke is supposedly rides out to defeat the uesugi charge.

  • i so wish i could own this film

  • easy just go to ebay:)

  • iv looked on ebay and amazon and i cannot find it anyware . ile look in a few months i suppose coz i do want to own it

  • I bought a VHS copy from Amazon

  • Some beautiful imagery.

  • SHINGEN!!!! i love shingen

    he rules

  • I thought Shingen was seated when Kenshin attacked.....plus Shingen should have a metal fan...

  • IMO the best theme in the movie was that their destiny was to NOT destroy each other. This movie needs to be remade.

  • why is it kagetora not KENSHIN....??

  • His original name was Nagao Kagetora. He changed his name to Uesugi Masatora. when he inherited the Uesugi family name in order to accept the official title of Kantou Kanrei. Later he changed his name again to Uesugi Terutora (上杉輝虎) to honor the Shogun Ashikaga Yoshiteru (足利義輝), and finally to Kenshin (上杉謙信) after he became a Buddhist monk.hope this answers your question:)

  • Love that movie. How did you get this on the computer? did they realise a dvd or something?
