We sat about twenty feet from Eddie's side of the stage and they were having serious sound problems. We could see the monitor guys trying to fix things. As far as it being rushed, it reminded me of when I saw the Ramones, no breaks, bam bam bam. No stupid banter to break the pace. Stage banter is overated! Wanting Sammy back? He can stay in Cabo. I had a great time at the show but I'm not sure it was worth the $150 ticket price.
Sam, Dave! That is what it boils down to with some VH fans. I like them both. Mainly because I am an Eddie Van Halen fan more than anything. All I know is I will not pay to see VH with Dave again. For the price I paid I could have seen them twice with Sammy and gotten twice the EVH solos. At this point I'm hoping Eddie branches off and does a project with Wolfie and loses DLR. I hate saying that too. I love old VH, but it will never be that way again.
row 9 seat fourteen and still had my dreams crushed watchin eddie play out of tune and off time alex and wolfgang were the ones holdin the show together sadly i waited my whole life for this show. Was let down but it is still one of the best concerts i've seen
Yep, I feel the same way. I heard they were much better when they played here in Iowa. I'm not going to let one bad performance spoil my view. Eddie is still the best guitar player ever, in my opinion. I still feel Michael Anthony should have been there. He got a raw deal.
I was at this one and I totally enjoyed it. Yeah they screwed up a few times but who cares? I got to see them play all the classics. Once in a lifetime.
This show Rocked. Period. Do you really miss all the slow songs with Sam? I agree Sammy has a better voice, but come on...this is Van Halen. So it was rushed..big whip. Would you rather listen to Sammy rattle on about starving children or Cabo? If Van Halen has any kind of a future it's with Dave.
Agree....the show rocked! It might have appeared rushed with no Dave talk in between....but they did a lot of classic VH which is what I'd rather hear. Great show by the greatest American band ever
I was there and sorry...it blew. 5th time seeing VH and I thought the whole show was rushed..they just wanted to get off. Dave barely spoke between songs and a one song encore. Never thought I'd say this...I want Sammy back
Exactly how I feel. I was so pumped to see this show, and about half way through it I just kinda stared at them. It was rushed, and they did act like they didn't want to be there. Glad I'm not the only one that felt this way. I was hoping it would be like stepping back into 1978. Would have been great to have seen them in their hay day but I was only 5 then.
Is there any video of the moment when Dave told Ed he was an asshole or he mouthed the word asshole to Ed? I know this happened I just wish there was video?
I was at this one, and this song was one of the better ones of the night...overall, this was barely VH...The whole band was off most of the night, and it did seem rushed, like they didnt want to be there. Makes me wonder if the St Louis show is even going to be rescheduled
I was there, and there is something wrong with this video. Dave didn't sound like that at all. It sounds likes hes fucking ozzy or something in this video.
These guys are moving liek they always have. Dave is still kicking (literally) and eddie is jumping around like a dragonforce concert or something.
THis was definately not up to par with the rest of the tour so far...FACT. Something was definately wrong that night. It was a little disappointing, but dont be fooled you Sammy fans, the real Van Halen is back and Dave is singing as good as he ever has live without a doubt...there were just several weird things about this K.C. show
I wanted to like this show as much as the next VH fan. I had never seen them with Dave. Seen Sammy 3 times and he produced every time. This wasn't the worst song either. There were several songs he had trouble doing. Over 300 bucks for me and my wife to see this show, it damn well oughta be the best show ever. Not the case.
I agree, there were many things way off that night...monitors for Eddie, Alex was having problems, but I think its time to admit that this aint the DLR we remember. That guy is gone, that band is gone...they do look in amazing shape, i will give them that. I want Sammy back
that's sad to see such a great band at one time try to do it again. I heard this show sucked in many different cities not just KC. Look at roth he doesn't even move anymore can you say boring!!!
I'll have to disagree a little bit. Eddie will never have to give anything up. He is the best guitar player in the world. Dave on the other hand sounds like crap. Sammy Hagar's voice still sounds the same as it ever was. He is the only front man that could put out any new and GOOD music with Van Halen. They need to get this tour over with and get Sammy and Mike back.
I was there and it rocked. Thanks for your useless opinion based on a grainy freakin' cell phone video. Here's an idea...put down the Cool Ranch Doritos and Playstation joystick, get off your beanbag chair, get out of Mom's basement, and get a job so you can afford to see great shows in person instead of living vicariuosly thru youtube.
Van Halen is like kiss, and metallica, who i love by the way, but they ahve stayed in the game way too long, just like motley crue, and alot of other bands, just retire, with a shred of dignity left, they are gonna work themselves into such a hole, to where no one likes them anymore, its sad to say but its true, i respect the music, but give it up while you still have respect!!
i agree to a point on this...this is why I dont go see KISS or Metallica anymore. I would pay to see Eddie play anything anywhere, but I think I just learned a $150 lesson in getting caught up in the excitement. The 8th row seat was great, the show wasnt
I was there, good show. It did seem rushed, but they pulled it off well. Wtf was with that opening act, who the hell was that? I went there for rock, not bs rapper group. Show rocked anyways.
I was a little dissappointed in his singing. I didn't know Dave was sick. Eddie was having trouble with his guitar during Cathedral, but he still kicks ass.
they suck dog nuts people get over it they are a fuckin has been
