I agree with the reward for each step, the gentleness in handling, and allowing the colt to see the other others not responding to you in fear. I like to take an older horse, already trained, that the colt looks up to, and demonstrate whatever it is I am teaching, then actually teach the younger horse. The bored expression on the part of the older horse is priceless, and the colt wants to be like its older herdmates. I have had them accept a saddle without a single buck this way. Cool!

great video! the doubling of the lead is a great safety tip to avoid ruining the foals experience and/or one of you getting hurt should something go wrong!

How old was this foal at the time of the video? Our foal is used to a halter at one month, but seriously pulls back with any slight pressure.
