Atheist rather take their own destiny at hand. They don't let themselves be deluded of what is obviously and logically correct.
Religion require lies, lies which are comforting, which attracts the masses and provides a promising prognosis for their life. BUT NONETHELESS are still lies. Their religious document/s contradicts itself and logic does not agree with theism. Theist playing the 'emotion' card is the last resort they have to attract new followers.
My "soul" is the group will of the cells that make up my body...they will return to the ecosystem and become part of some other life...in this way we will all live again. Do not label me.
Well im a former Christian that became an athiest while researching religion. Im not depressed im not hopeless. I find life to be extrodinary especially without a ridiculous belief system. I would rather except the truth and beauty that I am insignificant than embrace a religion that has caused thousands of wars based on their imagined self importance.
@v01741r31 You know I do have some unrest, but it is not because im uncertain about religion. It is because people still believe this ridiculous bigoted BS. The Omar Khayyam said it best.....and do you think that unto such as you, a maggot minded starved fanatic crew, God gave the secret and denied it me, Well well what matters it...believe that too.
@Serg13majik Since you ended your message with "..." that implies that you trailed off and did not finish your statement or that there is more to come. As one who agrees with you perhaps I could finish this message for you.
Picking up towards the end, "that doesn't mean that your [sic] right...even though you have science, facts, history, fossils, and overwhelming evidence. You forget that we [true followers of Jesus H. Christ] have a little thing called FAITH."
4:23 = this man should do some research. Yip Harburg wrote Somewhere Over The Rainbow. How about Verdi, Berlioz, Brahms? With just a small amount of research you will find that Atheists have contributed a large portion of our favorite music. The Entertainer (the song the ice cream truck plays) written by an atheist Scott Joplin.
"The universe is cold, bleak and empty [..] build your life on unyielding despair" <- Huh? What has he been smoking? (Or maybe he has simply been indoctrinated by religious people.)
The atheists I know enjoy life, are happy, find pleasure/happiness in learning about the marvels of the cosmos via science, and take moral issues seriously.
I don't see what this religious guy thinks he will accomplish by such a talk. Is it a kind of "scare talk" to get free-thinkers back into theism?
@0debug I assume by "free-thinkers" you mean the freedom to only believe in naturalism and atheism? All atheists in the world could be infinitely happy, and that would still have ZERO to do with whether God exists. You would do well to treat Bertrand Russell's work with respect, he puts your "four horsemen of atheism" today to shame.
@KrashOmnis "All atheists in the world could be infinitely happy, and that would still have ZERO to do with whether God exists."
Yeah, just being an animal addicted to life based on the replication of a DNA molecule. Too much saddness in the world. Disbelieveng in a God is a "gateway" to that.
@0debug you can call it a scare talk but the pain is real. All of that happiness is subjective and when one takes a look at life as it is, you see the suffering and you see the feebleness of something like happiness and how maddening it will pick at anyone's rational mind. That's the reality when you denounce something like God and you don't have to be a nilhilist to see it.
What a pity.. at first I thought the person in the video was really eager to talk about things, but -as usual I might say- misrepresentations and outright lies are used ... want to hear the ugly part ? start at 3:30 ... and as fellow atheists, ask yourselves if this properly represents your views.
The problem with fatalistic views is that people have to make up personal preferences in the face of the logical conclusion. Why do you prefer to continue to live if life is ultimately meaningless? Personal preferences have meaning but those preferences are meaningless as well in the fatalist view. It's to believe in a view that seems to have no burden to prove and enables people to feel justified in delving into deep forms of pride/selfishness which in turn cause more suffering. It's absurd.
Why is it that we take atheism so seriously? Because they themselves consider to be the only "Bright" ones? Atheism is nothing more than a religion because its not a fact, you act militant against those who don't believe in what you do, and you waste your life trying to "evangelize" on youtube when its the ONLY life you have so logically WHY WOULD YOU WASTE YOUR BREATH COMMENTING ABOUT A GOD YOU DON"T BELIEVE IN ANYWAY?
*insert passive aggressive plagiarized atheist comment here* or *ad hominem*
@Diachi26 Wow, really? Atheism is single position on a single issue, not a religion. Really, look up the definition of religion. It is a position of disbelief. So how could we lash out at those who don't believe what we do? Atheists comment about gods we don't believe in because it has effects on us personally. If it was kept private and didn't spill over into other peoples lives it wouldn't be an issue. By the way there is no evidence for any gods so it's closer to fact than any theistic claim.
Dumb christians don't seem to understand that atheistic world view is depressing only AFTER your hopes have been set rediculously high with religious BS. Atheism is depressing only from the point of view of your NARCISSISTIC world view.
What Driscoll fails to realize is that a cold, bleak, empty universe does not imply a cold, bleak, empty life. The earth is not cold, bleak or empty, and neither is life, if we only choose to live it.
@sirusvilla That "life's what you make of it" speech is only subjective meaning, which makes it meaningless because without an OBJECTIVE meaning the reality of death is still inevitable. Just saying if your an atheist, don't waste your life commenting on youtube if it's really that important to you.
I have absolutely no faith that Bill Gates will come to my house tomorrow and give me ten million dollars. Does this make my whole life a living hell? No, only people that believe that Bill Gates is coming to their house could possibly come to that conclusion.
How is not believing in an afterlife horrific? If this is the only life we have then doesn't that make it more precious? Knowing that we are finite means we should make the most of the time we have to enjoy life and to do things we won't be able to experience again.
But if according to Christians the only point of this life is to 'wipe our feet' before God takes us to paradise. Doesn't that make life meaningless since this life is only a test for you to get a good afterlife?
You don't have to watch the rest of these videos, I'll sum it up for you: secular thoughts scare me because I my ego is incomprehensibly giant and I need my imaginary friend to comfort me when I'm sad. Lets all go hide in the corner with Jesus.
A horrific way to live your life is to pretend that you can do anything you want in this life and as long as you repent in the end you will enjoy an eternity of bliss.
It's no wonder so many people in prison are religious.
I prefer atheism to be honest, I think the consequences of the Biblical God existing and billions upon billions of people burning for eternity is worthy of far more despair than the lights going out and everyone going to sleep. If our life here is ultimately based on believing the right thing and repentance for our 'eternal destiny', I dunno, that seems much more depressing to me.
I am not a Christian. I mispoke in one line there. I think that Christianity breeds idiots, and those who are smart use it to get money or votes from the true believers.
Ummm...all Christianity does is offer up the idea that "Daddy" will take care of everything when things get really bad. Atheists have compassion. Compassion is biology telling you to take care of the species for propagation. We are perpetually moving forward, and so I don't reject God, but I do reject Christianity creates docile halfwits. This guy is not presenting a fair case, only using Christian scare tactics.
Yeah, life tend to suck, tend to hurt, tend to be rough, but indeed, so what? That makes it all the more important to create some joy and pleasure in it, instead of waiting for some divine entity to come and do it for you. I'm so tired of religious people claiming that atheists can't be happy. Just because they can't imagine living in a world without divine purpose, dosen't mean we all are like that.
Dear Christians, please stay out of all hospitals whenever you have ANY ailment. Just stay out and pray that god will save you, after all, he's far more powerful than modern science.
Your statement is problematic. First off, it's not always God's will for us to be healed on earth. Many times God allows sickness even unto death. He works all things together for our good.
Of course, there's these prosperity "gospel" preachers who claim that every physical ailment is the work of the devil and if you're sick, it's due to lack of faith.
It goes ALWAYS down to the will of God. We must pray God's will. He knows better. Nice try, though.
@JuzziBurnsRed how do you know it's not god's will for us to be well?
How is it that you know so much, you even claim to know what's going on in the mind of the infinite creator of existence? and why are we so dependent on god's will?
Read again. I didn't say it's not God's will for us to be well. God has given us His written Word, so that we may know His perfect will. (See Romans 12:2 & 2 Timothy 3:16 for example)
Obviously, while on earth, we'll never know fully or even close to that, but what I was talking about is a very basic thing that is often taught wrong.
You may think I'm arrogant, but if I know something, it's only because Christ Jesus speaks through me.
@numbersCH31vs17 Dear ignorant non-believers, you do not understand who God is by that statement alone. For our faith allows us to discern by God's spirit what it is He would like us to do when acting on ailments. He has given us knowledge and understanding of the human body by divine insight and allows us concrete ways of healing our sicknesses through His Science and his blessed gifts of their tools to create healing products.
@knucks360 We all have faith, you in science theories and I have faith in Jesus. Faith. If you want to be ignorant that's fine by me, but I just prefer faith since ignorant isn't a synonym.
@knucks360 That's such a ridiculous definition of faith. Faith is just belief. Whether your base it on evidence or not, it's still faith. If you have more evidence, you have more reason to have faith. Faith is acknowledgement that you can't know anything for sure. I agree, faith that is based on no evidence is ignorance, but I disagree that there is no evidence for Christ.
@JLITE08 Random online dictionaries. There's two main definitions of faith typically: 1) trust in something or someone. 2) belief in a religion or God without proof.
By the first definition, you trust something because you have good reason to trust it, whether by testing or observation. By the second definition, you believe in a God without hard, cold proof. There's no doubt that there I can't prove God exists, but there's plenty of evidence for a God.
@jselvrom "He has given us knowledge and understanding of the human body by divine insight and allows us concrete ways of healing our sicknesses through His Science and his blessed gifts of their tools to create healing products"
so you support stem-cell research, bc god has revealed to us the power of stem cells and the technology to use them..
@numbersCH31vs17 I understand how amazing embryonic stem cell research is but that does not negate the factors of conception and how we are taking possible 'intended life' and killing it. I am all for however non-embryonic stem cell research which is having fantastic breakthroughs. Killing after conception is 'biblically' considered murder.
@jselvrom wait, I quoted exactly from your comment to me. If knowledge of medicine is divinely revealed by god for us to use, why shouldn't we use it?
where in the bible does it say that killing after conception is considered murder?
@numbersCH31vs17 Yes he can divinely heal us but in the same breadth He has already given us a way out of our 'crutch'. Through this understanding we now must realize whether God will commission us to us the gifts of the spirit that are upon us or if he would like us to use His gift of hospitals. It comes down to whether one action or the other will glorify the Lord more through our intentions at heart in using Him through Divine treatment or hospital treatment.
@numbersCH31vs17 We all want God to 'Divinely' heal us, yes, but we must not be ignorant to the blessings He has already bestowed. Take the parable of the man lost at sea. He swims around praying that God will save Him for our. A man in a paddle boat comes by and asks if He needs help. The man in the water replies, "No, I'm waiting for God to save me'. This happens two other times varying until the man tiers and dies.
@numbersCH31vs17 When in the presence of the Lord He asks, "Lord, why didn't you save me?' God replies, 'I tried you wouldn't allow my help. I sent three different people to rescue you from the water...' I think you get the point by now. We realize God can heal us divinely if He wills it or we can accept that He has already given us the cure that He created for such a disease.
@RabornTau You would try to say this but it's not true. We were given rules to follow where everything would be pure, if we strayed away from those rules in our actions then implications would arise because we were not following the things that would help us survive.
@RabornTau Like a mother telling their child don't eat too much food cause it's bad for you, then the child eats it and gets obese and dies. The child strayed away from the rules. You say He shouldn't have created a world where we could die. He didn't we created it by wanting to live a life that could kill us instead of the one that was secure for us as a creation.
@RXdash78 That's a pretty good statement. So then I'm assuming you believe God does exist because the man didn't get into the boat. Faith makes you trust in the Lords divinity, however there are ways through biblical teachings that let us understand how God works. We take Him for advantage everyday by thinking a lighting bolt will come down and save us when really he has sent, say, a man already capable of giving us help for our needs, like the ones in the boat.
@numbersCH31vs17 Some people do, and if they told an atheist what happened they wouldn't believe it. However, I don't wake up in the morning and pray that God will put clothes on me. We can use the abilities and technologies he has given us, that's why we have them.
@numbersCH31vs17 Actually we are instructed to live in this world because we are human just like all humans we bleed we hurt we have problems just like anybody else. the only difference is the fact that we dont look to ourselves or humanity to explain humanity.. We go to the Creator of all things to get an understanding of all things with that understanding comes peace in all circumstances, emotions, and experiences in this present life.
@kennethv139 god works through people? because he can't do it himself?
Let me get this straight--god doesn't necessarily want us to be well all the time, so that's his will, and he won't allow it. So if i'm sick, it's bc god wants it. When I get help from a doctor, that too, is god working through people.
So what the fuck are we, his finger puppets?
yeah, some reason to worship him. YAY PRAISE BE TO MY PUPPET MASTER!!!
Originally mankind was created to exist in total peace. Humans messed that up in an event commonly referred to as "the fall." This pattern of sin has continued to affect every aspect of civilization. The tragedy lies in the fact that the atheist knows and sees all this and yet has no solution outside of himself. I may get sick or even die young, but I rest in the assurance that "all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose."
@numbersCH31vs17 There is nothing blasphemous about medicine, in Jesus' parabol of the Good samaritan, one of his lesser known ones, lol, the good samaritan takes the poor man to an inn where we can infer that he was taken care of with human designed treatments.
@numbersCH31vs17 God does heal. God heals through doctors as well. What he is saying is that with no hope life is pointless. How is that how one wants to live. Christians believe God can indeed heal and its not always supernatural. Sometimes He uses others to do it. And here's the difference, IF I am not healed its ok because I know something better is to come. Atheists have this crappy life and thats it (so they think). I dont. and yeah Hes more powerful than science
@numbersCH31vs17 Yeah I can. I have SEVERAL people I know personally that were not cured by a doctor or science but somehow they were. I can verify it because I have SEEN it with my own eyes-solid proof. It doesnt have to be a crappy life. Im sure you have many great moments and times--but your happiness is conditional. Mine is not. Yes I have bad days but I know this life is as bad as it gets. For you its as good as it gets. Look if you dont know God you dont get that
@numbersCH31vs17 My mother's ovarian cancer dissapeared after she was prayed over. The church laid their hands on her, and the cancer was gone. Oh, and we got the X-ray results on Christmas Eve...
I'm here for enjoying life and contributing to human society;
*I* can save myself;
'Might makes right' is an irony towards the tendency, not a philosophy;
Only the fittest survive - yes, but the survival is by species not persons, human's strenght is their cooperation;
my pain is for progress - what???
Propaganda and lies. I'm very happy with my life and I know - I can change it! And I'm not inferior to men unlike Christians who's husband is their head!
Two of the major things to overcome, (and even some scientists fall into this trap) are 1) the desperate need to find a meaning to life; and 2) a destination for it.
I am here for the same reason as a leaf, or a stone, or a planet, and my destiny is the same as those things.
That makes me happy enough. Despite my importance today, and my sentience, I am no more than a transient happening.
We wonder because the universe is wonderful. But it is not magical

@StrumstickJoe Philosophical arguments are fine, but ultimately, neither side is ever right because it's a matter of what your view on life is. To argue that there's no god because I think there isn't one is the same as arguing that there is a god because I think there is one.
The question I have is whether or not Jesus existed, whether or not what was written about him was true and whether or not he resurrected. There's ample evidence for all three.
@StrumstickJoe Your happiness is meaningless then. Your assertion that there is no God is also meaningless, which mean it is logically inconsistent for you to think for even 1 single second that anyone SHOULD or OUGHT to believe the same. So in effect you've said nothing.
@KrashOmnis Things like feeling don't have to be in recognition of metaphysics, though it makes it seem to be subjective in it's pure circumstance externally and relative in this horrible existence of sentient life...
yes it depends on prefference, but according to atheism suicide should not be nothing morbid , you cant say to noone that he is wasting his life. We do not live like that.
"the pain is unbearable, I just want to go to heaven and end it"
yes this is possible option, but i think you go to hell for suicide, or let me rephrase, you continue living in hell in eternity. So its not really a way out.
"and not to injustices to others for it is the only life we and they have"
this is arbitrary, you can chose to do what you want if you dont get caught
"“Might makes right” -> no it does not, not in our society"
dude where do you live? You get equal rights if might makes it happen, if not there is no equality. Where is justice for Muslims killed by smart bombs?
"I’d be more depressed being told I am and evil person with no morals and no chance in hell ... " this is true
My niece is a Psychiatrist and has worked exclusively with the mentally disabled for over twelve years. Every single one of her over 200 patients are fervent Christians. She told me that mental disorders and or a low IQ almost always guarantee the sufferer will be devoutly religious.
"There are various ways of seeing God. We've changed ours a lot, particularly since the 1960s/1970's. Our misogynistic roots and practices were to blatantly obvious to the public during the sexual revolution, so we swept them under the carpet for a little while. Now we wait till we've fully completed psychological conditioning a new Christian to our way of life, to let them know the truth about why they should hate women".
If I need comfort, there are usually places to go besides to the Divine. Then again, the Divine is in all things, and so then the Divine IS comforting you. Obviously, I'm not an atheist. Honestly, though, Atheism builds some pretty bad ass people. My last boyfriend was an atheist, and he was pretty bad ass. He didn't depend one anyone, and he knew his own worth. He didn't need anyone to tell him who he was or how awesome he was, because he already knew.
Finally, after wasting so much time on my novel of comments, I will simply say that this entire video is filled with the common and biased argument that atheists have no hope, which is completely false. Pastor Mark's claims are backed up with no facts, regardless of the length of the ideas that his ass creates. Mark simply makes assumptions, and that's what this video is: assumptions.
I don't know many atheist in my life who are happy about death and taxes. the only things known to happen in human life. So from experience he is dead on.
@finessewes9119 I don't mean that atheists are "happy" about death. In the end, no one really is. My argument is that atheists live life to its fullest just as anyone else that wants to, because in their minds that is all they have. He is far from "dead on".
7:14 How is it unbelievable? Because Mark is close minded. He can't think of hope other than god. It is not certainty of our death. Life is certainty of our death: we will all die. We atheists find hope in real things, not millenniums-old fallacies. We live for purpose, truth, and reality; not for god.
@finessewes9119 Yes, I live for reality, because life is reality, but though life is what you make it out to be, reality is simply reality; unchangeable.
6:35 I wouldn't tell them that either. I would give them hope other than god. That's right. Hope OTHER than god, because god is not the only hope. Some may find hope in god; that's okay. But I, personally, don't. That doesn't mean I can't be "saved". No, that is not what happens to the unfit. That's what happens to someone that got unlucky and gained cancer. That's it.
...I used to cut myself when my mom yelled at me. Not once did I ever come close to thinking, "there is no god... I'm going to kill myself". No, I thought, "she can't accept me the way I am... I hate myself for that". However, I found it in myself to love myself for who I am, and believe that she truly does love me.
6:12 I doubt he actually prayed for someone "just an hour ago". No, teenagers do not kill themselves and cut themselves because they don't believe in a god. Teenage girls cut themselves because their boyfriend broke up with them, and homosexual teenagers commit suicide because people refuse to accept them, thanks to religion, that taught that homosexuality is wrong...
...Theists are more afraid of death than atheists, and I have witnessed this. Theists can't accept the thought of "nothingness". That's far too scary, so a god will make that much better to think about. Accepting nothingness, however, commonly leads to living the best life you can possibly live.
@Xreaper2070 not necessarily. i live a life not for myself. a selfless life. putting other ahead of myself because i know that there is more to living that getting to the finish line with a smile on my face and a long list of successes tied around my chest.
5:52 No, atheism does not result in suicide. Considering atheism is a monority, the people committing suicide in the US alone are most often theists. Again, suicide is caused by depression, which is caused by events in life, not belief or disbelief in a god. No, atheists don't think the way he believes they do. Atheists think that because there is no god to determine my fate after death, then they must make their life a good one while they can.
...Most atheists are far more peaceful, and almost all wars are caused by religion. Entertainment... what? A consumption culture? No. Many futurists, many atheists, wish to make the world far better by ending overconsumption. The USA is a conspicuous overconsumption country, filled with some of the most obese people on the world. Guess what? It's a "Christian country".
5:36 Self medication begins by various events that happen in life, not beliefs. Drugs are most often started by peer pressure-- same with alcohol. Sex is also started by peer pressure, drugs, but most of all hormones-- same with pornography, which is also caused by money. Shopping isn't bad at all... shopping is caused by greediness.
...What a close minded idea, that the only hope in the world is god. Clearly, this man finds no hope in his friends, family, or in humanity. I do, and I am an atheist. I am an atheist with hope, just like all other atheists.
5:06 Depression? Depression is caused by many things. The depression would be caused by the events in your life. Belief and lack thereof in a god changes naught in terms of depression. No, people do not need antidepressants because they do not believe in a deity. Antidepressants are often misdiagnosed, especially with teens that seem "depressed", but aren't really. He states no backup argument for that false claim-- because he couldn't...
3:16 Build your life on the acceptance* of "unyielding despair".
4:23 You're saying atheists don't have great songs-- a biased opinion-- because they don't believe in something you do? Plenty of atheists make fine music, and so do plenty of Christians.
3:56 Yes, pain is for progression, to grow stronger and withstand more pain. The progression will be lost, but it was good for the only time you had it, making you great for using it. For example, if I beat a video game and never played it again, I wouldn't care if I lost my hard earned file, for I had finished it and need not look back at progression that was lost, but stilled stayed true.
3:47 "Might makes right", and "only the fittest survive"? Far from it. Again, the quote says quite the opposite. Acceptance of the truth makes right, and no one survives, but understanding will let you live.
3:52 Losing what? No one can lose at life. Everyone simply lives differently.
3:30 Emotinally deadly? Far from it. The thought has never depressed me at all.
3:34 No one can save me? Mark couldn't be more wrong. Again, I have my friends and my family. The real people of this world that do love me can help me. Besides, what saving do I need? What did I do wrong? Oh, right, I was born, and thus I am not innocent.
2:21 What? No one to help me? I have my friends, my family, the world, myself, even to be there with me. In other words, REAL people.
2:31 Never did the man once say that life is despicable. In actuality, he said the opposite: that life can be great, as long as you are willing to accept the truth and make a future because of that.
...Only by accepting this, however, can a person truly be saved, to live a good life. This man is a perfect example of the opposite of this; that we need to live a "good" life because we are told to-- which ordinarily is not a good life at all.
2:11 Obviously, Sir Immature did not understand the quote. Yes, the quote stated that there is no god. No, that is not all that was put forth. Mr. Childish only picked up on one part of the quote. The rest of the quote stated that yes, there are depressing things to come...
I can sum up this entire video in just one sentence...
"OMG tharz no gawd all hoap iz lawst!"
I'm just going to waste my time pointing out the numerous flaws and ignorant statement that constantly make an appearance throughout the course of this video...
So what have we got here? Some projection/appeal to emotion: "If I didn't have all the things I've deliberately put my in my god box I'd feel horrible so they must, too. Yeah, Christianity makes me feel good (to say nothing about if its true or not)." And then some lies and cheap shots at evolution sprinkled throughout: "Atheism leads to suicide and depression." "If he dies he wasn't fit to survive (to say nothing about his omniscient, omni-benevolent creator allowing it)." *sigh*
Most athiests I've tried to share the Word with have used all the evil in the world today to prove that God doesn't exist. God didn't cause the evil in the world. Man did, with our sin. If you're beaten, raped, murdered, God DID NOT do it to you! Men did! If you get cancer, think, maybe it's all the junk in the food and water. It would explain why cancer has risen so sharply. God gave us the ability to make our own choices, because He didn't want a bunch of robots.
What I dont like about this guy is that he seems to be mocking everything that is different from what he believes. Sadly, this appears to be very common for christians. I wish they would pay more respect.
4:41 " when your life really hurts, you're strugglin, you're hurting, you're physically injured, you're diagnosed with cancer, your marriage is in shambles, your loved one has betrayed you, your children are wayward, your boss fires you,....life on the earth is just very difficult for you..."
Bertrand Russell isn't saying the human condition is unyielding despair just how the natural world works. It does not mean we have to work the same way, we as a species have bypassed that and have conquered many of natures problems. Also in the words of Monty Python "You know, you come from nothing, you're going back to nothing. What have you lost? Nothing!"
I'm Atheist and I don't see how it could be depressing at all. People need to live their own lives and fulfill their own goals rather than running around pretending that some invisible being in the sky has greater plans for them and that their rewards will come after death. People should be proud of their own achievements.
The whole bit about having no one to comfort you in your time of need basically shows that the idea of a God exists mostly to comfort people too afraid to face reality.
@LancelotSE Well both of my parent know people that have died and saw god. I one of the cases when this lady was dead god told her don't let the doctor cut off your leg and when they brought her back to life she told them this but they insistead on cutting her leg off. A specialist just happen to come in for another case and save her leg. There are buddhist, atheist, doctors professors ect that had a different experience they saw hell
@LancelotSE And you believe that we were apes talk about a fairytale. You can't change a monkeys genetic code into a human genetic code. Also how come scientist can't replicate the big bang theory. A cell can't live without oxygen or a scientest taking care of it. A cell would have died without a body to give it oxygen. Darwin had a delema it was called the cambrian explosion which proves that life came rappidly and not by a slow process

It's not as simple as "this life is all we got." It's that nature is alive. And nature is constant and emergant. And we're simply a part of it. I find that far more beautiful and hopeful than being selfish and individualistic.
@renoo27 Then why weren't you just made a tree from the beginning? I mean, why go through life's struggles, just to become the paper of someone else's suicide note? You have purpose my friend. something far more beautiful then being garden feed for a tree. far more beautiful.
@brandonbaca45 We all have a purpose. Or rather, a duty. A duty live, and give to nature, as it gives to us. We help the plants to live, they help us to live. And the sun and water let us all live. That's how it is, that's how it's always been. Nature is one global unity.
@desasterz so you've got "I'm okay, Jesus loves me I have Jesus. Jesus is the "cure for cancer". Why should I help anyone else? I'm set" vs "Myself and everyone else only has once chance to live life, we should all work together to try to make that one life the best as possible".
You Christians don't care, you're all set this life and the next. Why do you care? you're at the top with Jesus?
Atheist rather take their own destiny at hand. They don't let themselves be deluded of what is obviously and logically correct.
Religion require lies, lies which are comforting, which attracts the masses and provides a promising prognosis for their life. BUT NONETHELESS are still lies. Their religious document/s contradicts itself and logic does not agree with theism. Theist playing the 'emotion' card is the last resort they have to attract new followers.

@0debug I assume by "free-thinkers" you mean the freedom to only believe in naturalism and atheism? All atheists in the world could be infinitely happy, and that would still have ZERO to do with whether God exists. Tetzukai 2 weeks ago

Your statement is problematic. First off, it's not always God's will for us to be healed on earth. Many times God allows sickness even unto death. He works all things together for our good.
Of course, there's these prosperity "gospel" preachers who claim that every physical ailment is the work of the devil and if you're sick, it's due to lack of faith.
It goes ALWAYS down to the will of God. We must pray God's will. He knows better. Nice try, though.
JuzziBurnsRed 4 months ago
@JuzziBurnsRed how do you know it's not god's will for us to be well?
How is it that you know so much, you even claim to know what's going on in the mind of the infinite creator of existence? and why are we so dependent on god's will?
what ever happen to free will?
numbersCH31vs17 2 weeks ago 2
@numbersCH31vs17
JuzziBurnsRed 2 weeks ago
@numbersCH31vs17 Dear ignorant non-believers, you do not understand who God is by that statement alone. For our faith allows us to discern by God's spirit what it is He would like us to do when acting on ailments. He has given us knowledge and understanding of the human body by divine insight and allows us concrete ways of healing our sicknesses through His Science and his blessed gifts of their tools to create healing products.

@jselvrom Faith is just another word for ignorance. It's a way to believe something without justification or evidence.
knucks360 3 months ago
@knucks360 We all have faith, you in science theories and I have faith in Jesus. Faith. If you want to be ignorant that's fine by me, but I just prefer faith since ignorant isn't a synonym.
jselvrom 3 months ago
@knucks360 That's such a ridiculous definition of faith. Faith is just belief. Whether your base it on evidence or not, it's still faith. If you have more evidence, you have more reason to have faith. Faith is acknowledgement that you can't know anything for sure. I agree, faith that is based on no evidence is ignorance, but I disagree that there is no evidence for Christ.
andrewccal 3 months ago
@andrewccal By faith,I meant faith in the supernatural. We all have faith in something, but superstition is what I'm addressing.
knucks360 3 months ago
@andrewccal how did you come up with this definition for faith?
JLITE08 3 months ago
@JLITE08 Random online dictionaries. There's two main definitions of faith typically: 1) trust in something or someone. 2) belief in a religion or God without proof.
By the first definition, you trust something because you have good reason to trust it, whether by testing or observation. By the second definition, you believe in a God without hard, cold proof. There's no doubt that there I can't prove God exists, but there's plenty of evidence for a God.
andrewccal 2 months ago
@jselvrom "He has given us knowledge and understanding of the human body by divine insight and allows us concrete ways of healing our sicknesses through His Science and his blessed gifts of their tools to create healing products"

numbersCH31vs17 2 weeks ago
@numbersCH31vs17 I understand how amazing embryonic stem cell research is but that does not negate the factors of conception and how we are taking possible 'intended life' and killing it. I am all for however non-embryonic stem cell research which is having fantastic breakthroughs. Killing after conception is 'biblically' considered murder.
jselvrom 2 weeks ago
@jselvrom wait, I quoted exactly from your comment to me. If knowledge of medicine is divinely revealed by god for us to use, why shouldn't we use it?
where in the bible does it say that killing after conception is considered murder?

jselvrom 2 weeks ago
@numbersCH31vs17 Yes he can divinely heal us but in the same breadth He has already given us a way out of our 'crutch'. Through this understanding we now must realize whether God will commission us to us the gifts of the spirit that are upon us or if he would like us to use His gift of hospitals. It comes down to whether one action or the other will glorify the Lord more through our intentions at heart in using Him through Divine treatment or hospital treatment.
jselvrom 4 months ago
@numbersCH31vs17 We all want God to 'Divinely' heal us, yes, but we must not be ignorant to the blessings He has already bestowed. Take the parable of the man lost at sea. He swims around praying that God will save Him for our. A man in a paddle boat comes by and asks if He needs help. The man in the water replies, "No, I'm waiting for God to save me'. This happens two other times varying until the man tiers and dies.
jselvrom 4 months ago
@numbersCH31vs17 When in the presence of the Lord He asks, "Lord, why didn't you save me?' God replies, 'I tried you wouldn't allow my help. I sent three different people to rescue you from the water...' I think you get the point by now. We realize God can heal us divinely if He wills it or we can accept that He has already given us the cure that He created for such a disease.
jselvrom 4 months ago
@jselvrom The disease he created so that he could sell us the cure
RabornTau 3 months ago
@RabornTau You would try to say this but it's not true. We were given rules to follow where everything would be pure, if we strayed away from those rules in our actions then implications would arise because we were not following the things that would help us survive.
jselvrom 3 months ago
@RabornTau Like a mother telling their child don't eat too much food cause it's bad for you, then the child eats it and gets obese and dies. The child strayed away from the rules. You say He shouldn't have created a world where we could die. He didn't we created it by wanting to live a life that could kill us instead of the one that was secure for us as a creation.
jselvrom 3 months ago
@jselvrom Sounds like he didn't do anything to me. If he didn't exist the guy would have gotten in the boat anyway.
If anything your parable shows how faith makes yous stupid.
RXdash78 4 weeks ago
@RXdash78 That's a pretty good statement. So then I'm assuming you believe God does exist because the man didn't get into the boat. Faith makes you trust in the Lords divinity, however there are ways through biblical teachings that let us understand how God works. We take Him for advantage everyday by thinking a lighting bolt will come down and save us when really he has sent, say, a man already capable of giving us help for our needs, like the ones in the boat.
jselvrom 3 weeks ago
@jselvrom And exactly how does your magic man get credit for something that is entirely explainable through natural normal means?
Protip: If you can easily have something happen without god, there's no reason to attribute it to one at all.
RXdash78 3 weeks ago
@numbersCH31vs17 Some people do, and if they told an atheist what happened they wouldn't believe it. However, I don't wake up in the morning and pray that God will put clothes on me. We can use the abilities and technologies he has given us, that's why we have them.

Originally mankind was created to exist in total peace. Humans messed that up in an event commonly referred to as "the fall." This pattern of sin has continued to affect every aspect of civilization.

So from experience he is dead on.
finessewes9119 5 months ago
@finessewes9119 I don't mean that atheists are "happy" about death. In the end, no one really is. My argument is that atheists live life to its fullest just as anyone else that wants to, because in their minds that is all they have. He is far from "dead on".
Xreaper2070 5 months ago
7:14 How is it unbelievable? Because Mark is close minded. He can't think of hope other than god. It is not certainty of our death. Life is certainty of our death: we will all die. We atheists find hope in real things, not millenniums-old fallacies. We live for purpose, truth, and reality; not for god.
Xreaper2070 5 months ago
@Xreaper2070
truth?
so you live for reality. I can get that. i can rap my small closed mind around that.
but purpose?
finessewes9119 5 months ago
@finessewes9119 Yes, I live for reality, because life is reality, but though life is what you make it out to be, reality is simply reality; unchangeable.
Xreaper2070 5 months ago
6:35 I wouldn't tell them that either. I would give them hope other than god. That's right. Hope OTHER than god, because god is not the only hope. Some may find hope in god; that's okay. But I, personally, don't. That doesn't mean I can't be "saved". No, that is not what happens to the unfit. That's what happens to someone that got unlucky and gained cancer. That's it.
Xreaper2070 5 months ago
...I used to cut myself when my mom yelled at me. Not once did I ever come close to thinking, "there is no god... I'm going to kill myself". No, I thought, "she can't accept me the way I am... I hate myself for that". However, I found it in myself to love myself for who I am, and believe that she truly does love me.
Xreaper2070 5 months ago
6:12 I doubt he actually prayed for someone "just an hour ago". No, teenagers do not kill themselves and cut themselves because they don't believe in a god. Teenage girls cut themselves because their boyfriend broke up with them, and homosexual teenagers commit suicide because people refuse to accept them, thanks to religion, that taught that homosexuality is wrong...
Xreaper2070 5 months ago
...Theists are more afraid of death than atheists, and I have witnessed this. Theists can't accept the thought of "nothingness". That's far too scary, so a god will make that much better to think about. Accepting nothingness, however, commonly leads to living the best life you can possibly live.
Xreaper2070 5 months ago
@Xreaper2070 not necessarily. i live a life not for myself. a selfless life. putting other ahead of myself because i know that there is more to living that getting to the finish line with a smile on my face and a long list of successes tied around my chest.
finessewes9119 5 months ago
@finessewes9119 Sorry, that comment in particular was a bit biased. Please excuse me, I was tired.
Xreaper2070 5 months ago
5:52 No, atheism does not result in suicide. Considering atheism is a monority, the people committing suicide in the US alone are most often theists. Again, suicide is caused by depression, which is caused by events in life, not belief or disbelief in a god. No, atheists don't think the way he believes they do. Atheists think that because there is no god to determine my fate after death, then they must make their life a good one while they can.
Xreaper2070 5 months ago
...Most atheists are far more peaceful, and almost all wars are caused by religion. Entertainment... what? A consumption culture? No. Many futurists, many atheists, wish to make the world far better by ending overconsumption. The USA is a conspicuous overconsumption country, filled with some of the most obese people on the world. Guess what? It's a "Christian country".
Xreaper2070 5 months ago 3
5:36 Self medication begins by various events that happen in life, not beliefs. Drugs are most often started by peer pressure-- same with alcohol. Sex is also started by peer pressure, drugs, but most of all hormones-- same with pornography, which is also caused by money. Shopping isn't bad at all... shopping is caused by greediness.
Xreaper2070 5 months ago
...What a close minded idea, that the only hope in the world is god. Clearly, this man finds no hope in his friends, family, or in humanity. I do, and I am an atheist. I am an atheist with hope, just like all other atheists.
Xreaper2070 5 months ago
5:06 Depression? Depression is caused by many things. The depression would be caused by the events in your life. Belief and lack thereof in a god changes naught in terms of depression. No, people do not need antidepressants because they do not believe in a deity. Antidepressants are often misdiagnosed, especially with teens that seem "depressed", but aren't really. He states no backup argument for that false claim-- because he couldn't...
Xreaper2070 5 months ago
3:16 Build your life on the acceptance* of "unyielding despair".
4:23 You're saying atheists don't have great songs-- a biased opinion-- because they don't believe in something you do? Plenty of atheists make fine music, and so do plenty of Christians.
Xreaper2070 5 months ago
3:56 Yes, pain is for progression, to grow stronger and withstand more pain. The progression will be lost, but it was good for the only time you had it, making you great for using it. For example, if I beat a video game and never played it again, I wouldn't care if I lost my hard earned file, for I had finished it and need not look back at progression that was lost, but stilled stayed true.
Xreaper2070 5 months ago
3:47 "Might makes right", and "only the fittest survive"? Far from it. Again, the quote says quite the opposite. Acceptance of the truth makes right, and no one survives, but understanding will let you live.
3:52 Losing what? No one can lose at life. Everyone simply lives differently.
Xreaper2070 5 months ago
3:30 Emotinally deadly? Far from it. The thought has never depressed me at all.
3:34 No one can save me? Mark couldn't be more wrong. Again, I have my friends and my family. The real people of this world that do love me can help me. Besides, what saving do I need? What did I do wrong? Oh, right, I was born, and thus I am not innocent.
Xreaper2070 5 months ago
2:21 What? No one to help me? I have my friends, my family, the world, myself, even to be there with me. In other words, REAL people.
2:31 Never did the man once say that life is despicable. In actuality, he said the opposite: that life can be great, as long as you are willing to accept the truth and make a future because of that.
Xreaper2070 5 months ago
...Only by accepting this, however, can a person truly be saved, to live a good life. This man is a perfect example of the opposite of this; that we need to live a "good" life because we are told to-- which ordinarily is not a good life at all.
Xreaper2070 5 months ago
2:11 Obviously, Sir Immature did not understand the quote. Yes, the quote stated that there is no god. No, that is not all that was put forth. Mr. Childish only picked up on one part of the quote. The rest of the quote stated that yes, there are depressing things to come...
Xreaper2070 5 months ago
0:54 "...This is a horrific way to live your life." Not at all. Many atheists such as myself are peacefully happy human beings.
1:03 "I put 'great' in quotes..." Clearly, he holds a grudge against all atheists of the world. How childish.
Xreaper2070 5 months ago
I can sum up this entire video in just one sentence...
"OMG tharz no gawd all hoap iz lawst!"

So what have we got here? Some projection/appeal to emotion: "If I didn't have all the things I've deliberately put my in my god box I'd feel horrible so they must, too. Yeah, Christianity makes me feel good (to say nothing about if its true or not)." And then some lies and cheap shots at evolution sprinkled throughout: "Atheism leads to suicide and depression." "If he dies he wasn't fit to survive (to say nothing about his omniscient, omni-benevolent creator allowing it)." *sigh*
animeforte369 5 months ago
Most athiests I've tried to share the Word with have used all the evil in the world today to prove that God doesn't exist. God didn't cause the evil in the world. Man did, with our sin. If you're beaten, raped, murdered, God DID NOT do it to you! Men did! If you get cancer, think, maybe it's all the junk in the food and water. It would explain why cancer has risen so sharply. God gave us the ability to make our own choices, because He didn't want a bunch of robots.

Nothing!"
tomfurstyfield 6 months ago

Poor guy.
It's not as simple as "this life is all we got." It's that nature is alive. And nature is constant and emergant. And we're simply a part of it. I find that far more beautiful and hopeful than being selfish and individualistic.
renoo27 6 months ago
@renoo27 Then why weren't you just made a tree from the beginning? I mean, why go through life's struggles, just to become the paper of someone else's suicide note? You have purpose my friend. something far more beautiful then being garden feed for a tree. far more beautiful.
brandonbaca45 6 months ago
