i can see why a lot of ppl dont like their new stuff, it is pretty light. but you can't compare their new album to their old stuff in the sense of mainstream and not mainstream. linkin park is one of the most mainstream bands out there! it wasnt so much that they wanted to give up nu metal that it was they wanted to do something different. and in that, they succeeded.
