Tell me why I have to buy a data plan if I dont want it or cant afford it I dont mind paying 10, 15 extra but I cant see putting 30 or 45 dollars in something I may not use and I shouldnt be force to buy something I dont need nor want with my money >:( It angers me Im suppose to upgrade my phone I want a smartphone but it looks like ill be getting once again a dumb phone

@ItsSoLikeSabrina you say you want a smartphone but don't want to pay for data you may not use. That's contradicting, there is no point in having a smartphone if you will not use it for all those features like a fast web browser, email, gps, apps, etc. Those things are what a smartphone is for. so get a regular phone, verizon doesn't force anyone to do anything. They give you choices, so choose.

i just bought the black berry bold with the $15 data package which was required. It says i have email and the web but only 150mg. How long will i be able to use the web without going over the 150mb? (im not woried about the email. dont plan to use it)

ok i have an enV touch i want to upgrade to a droid x and on the verizons website it says that it only requires a $15 data pkg plan but u said the smart phones require a $30 plan so what is the differnce and if i only get the $15 plan what can i get with it?

@cubsrock10997 You are correct, some smart phones still do require a $30 data package plan. The $15 data package plan is the minimum plan for the Droid X.
