  • These used to be available for sale in fish stores here in Southern California - wonder how many owners died cleaning their tanks with these guys.

  • octipi, i think?

  • octopussen

  • amazing!

  • One of these little beauties played an important role in both a James Bond movie in the 80's and a Naked Gun flick in the nineties,

But finding them in the wild? I hope everybody went out that night and treated themselves to their favorite meal, they earned it!!!

  • Pretty animal really. Nature is amazing.

  • Wow thats cool!

  • wow cool

  • @ephedradiet What the hell is wrong with you? Why don't you just buy add space on t.v. and quit spamming people. I hope punished for making people think they can loose all their excess weight so they'll waste their money on your bullshit.

  • IT'S CTHULU!

Anyway, it's an awesome video, I love finding stuff in tide pools.

  • Nice! Persistence pays off. I lived the better part of 20 years on the coast, and I could spend all day on the tide pools, flipping, fishing and poke poling for eel. Ain't gots no blue rings though! Sweet vid.

  • Thanks for the education! Congrats on your find. Beautiful and wonderful creature is that little fellow.

  • Ha!! Just stumbled upon a vid. titled Bluering Octopus at Balmaral (in Sydney that is, not England). That's where I used to see them!

  • Favourited! Welldone!

I used to go the beach constantly as a kid and spent heaps of time around the rock pools. For some reason I only came across about 3 Blue Rings.

There was also another kind, brown in colour, which seemed a little more common.

  • Love this critter!

  • Wow I never knew these creatures existed! Great film and great to be educated in such an entertaining way. Thanks Bill, Andy

  • very cool, do you have abalone there? we used to get abalone on the rocks when I lived in California and catch Pacific Rattlers right along the dunes, fast snakes-Great videos Bill!

  • @StevenChandlerArtist Yeah, plenty of abalone, Tasmania is famous for it.

  • Awesome. I love the bit where it squeezes through the netting. :D I love how they're able to do that. I kinda want to draw it!

  • @z0mbiiFiles Yeah! I've seen octopus do that on docos, that was the first time I've seen it in real life. It was awesome. A good way to escape from things but also a great way to chase prey.

Something the horror movie producers should take note of.

A giant octopus could slide under a door if it had to.

  • Psh, they would druther make it bash through the door instead. T_T The movies are all about the sound effects now. blech

  • Awesome! Love watching these types of vids. That Blue Ring was absolutely gorgeous! Octopuses are one of my favorites!

  • You guys worked hard to find him lol. Awesome find!! Really beautiful color!!

  • Why does everyone pick on me?

    I'm a paraplegic in a wheelchair...

  • Beautiful animal. :)

Didn't I see that one in a Bond movie?

  • Wow Bill! That thing is beautiful! I heard of those once before in a fiction book, where a terrorist group was using one to kill people. Haha. A book by the same person who wrote Jurrasic Park ;p

  • @MrCirrhosis A youtuber that actually reads books, I'm impressed! ;-)E

  • - Haha, I've always read lots of books. About 60 a year or so. Mostly fiction though. ;(

    I love the recent videos!

  • Beautiful blue ring octopus! This is the first time I have seen one before. Thanks for bringing it to our attention and sharing it with us..
