Maybe the cameraman had a job to do, which meant that the people not fortunate enough to be as close as you got a little bit closer to the band.

Sure he has to do his job, but i have been to lots of concerts where the cameraman can do his job 50 cm lower or from the left and right side. In the same week i was to Radiohead, no problems there ;-)

Radiohead isn't REM. Different formats for different bands. The visuals you get with REM can not be gained from extreme right or extreme left static cameras, nor can you get them from two static cameras at front of house. The view of the concert you got from up close and personal is completely different from the far away visual concert the people at the back would have had. 50cm lower would result in a different angle of Micheal and a bad back for the camera operator. ie Me. Sorry I am to tall
