Apple apologists like John Gruber think this is a tradeoff Apple made for getting the iPhone so thin. Personally I think Apple overlooked this flaw in their lab and used cases when testing it in the wild. Apple shows images of their labs with a guy holding it, my guess is when in the labs they didn't hold it, and used that particular photo as hazing. Basically, if you use a case you'll be fine. Either that or buy a different phone.

@georgemartinho You don't and aren't required to purchase from iTunes. You can import AAC, MP3, AIFF, ALAC, WAV as well as convert WMA and import CDs. How else did people use iPods before the iTunes store? You obviously didn't do your research and never even bothered trying to use iTunes, an iPod or an iPhone because you made a prejudiced assumption. The only way your argument applies is for certain outdated DRMed files. The irony is, you're the idiot as the iPhone users laugh at your ignorance.

Sony actively persecutes and belittles those that don't follow their terms and conditions. They also persecute those of whom they feel are involved with those that don't follow their terms, including those even remotely affiliated. Have you ever read a PS3's EULA or Privacy Policy?

Why do think people buy the iPhone in the first place?

Not because I've got to use it with a protective condom.

It's the LOOKS of the iPhone4 I like and THAT'S why I want it.

I would have choosen another brand if I wanted real gpu-power, browser speed, a georgeous large crisp clear screen, a standardised micro-usb plug for charging, not being forced to use iTunes and be able to share music/pics/data directly to an other phone.

BTW:

I will change to the Samsung Galaxy S!

Why dont companies put the antenna on THE TOP of the phone? Nothing ever covers the top whether you are on a call or browsing.

@ThinkingTechnology its an FCC thing, The antenna must be as far away from the person's head as possible. that's why most antennas are at the bottom of the phone.
