  • this theme is mind blowing

  • In my opinion the best Megaman theme of all time together with Megaman 2 intro theme and Megaman 3 stage select.

  • nostalgia value in this track is very high. oh those memories when i first got to protoman stage

  • I love old school game music!

  • I can literally listen to this all day. :D

  • @VideoGamer863 Only people with no taste don't love 8-bit music.

  • Some people didnt like mega man 5 that much but this was one of the mega mans i grew up playing through my child hood. I still remeber like it was yesterday, wakeing up every morning to this tune all summer long playing the shit out of this. Also Mega Man 1,4,6,8, Mega Man x1,2,5,6,7,8 child hood glory. I played Mega Man 2,3,7,Mega Man x3,4, for the first time when the Aniversy and X Collection came out.

  • These levels are so enjoyable, love it!

  • :D So nice soundtrack I had to make a remix of it. /watch?v=bgC-1zS2Lfk

  • With the exception of can't take my eyes off you, I liked this original more than its later versions. Possibly because this is more electronic

  • This one's kind of whiny, but I love it just the same.

  • This is the greatest mega man 5 song evah.

  • Proto Man's so badass, he puts a giant motherfucking pair of glasses on his castle to prove his badassery.

Too bad it was a fake.

  • I'm reminded of AirMan will not die when I hear this...

  • Best song in the game. One of the best castle themes in the series. One of the only reasons to play Megaman 5.

  • lol i was always humming this as a child but the sad part was i didnt know what that tune was or where it came from (i 4got that i got it from watching my cousins play this game so long ago). wow this find 20 years later is legendary :D story of my life 8D

  • Zero can go blow himself in half. PROTO MAN FTW!!!

  • Even though the audience is often not all too positive about MM5's rather underrated OST, they all have to admit that this particular tune is one the best in the entire series.

The heroic atmosphere mixed with the sadness of this tune... even though it seems like an almost story-less game, you can almost taste the emotion and doubt of Mega Man. Will he have to fight his brother? And why?

The music creates that atmosphere, tells that story. That's how awesome it is.

  • @Mariofan9 Yeah I see the heroic part and sad part too :D

Really gives that feeling of wanting to get behind the truth and confrontation... Amazing!

  • I love this song, it's so happy

  • @DamienThornes: Interesting. I never really paid attention to the chord progression in this song.

You know, for a guy named "Dark Man", he has an awfully upbeat stage theme. Anyway, though, this is definitely one of my favorite songs from Mega Man 5.

  • If you know music, here's even more genius about this song: It's in E minor and, through an AWESOME chord progression, changes into D minor and then back at E minor. Even while in E, the lead plays the B and C# notes, never hinting at C, but then the chord progression ends in C, bringing things to a new level.

  • @DamienThornes LOTS of classic Megaman tunes do key changes like that. Also, this one goes from Em Dorian mode (which corresponds to the D Major key) to the Dm Aeolian mode (which corresponds to a F Major key); and a three-semitones key-shift is quite common in many compositions. Just wanted to point that out. However, I do agree with you; the chord progression is awesome overall, and so is this entire theme, really.

  • this music is used in Sine Novela Presents: Sinasamba Kita.

  • Probably the best soundtrack in this game. I really did not like the soundtrack, but this changed my mind.

  • Actually this song is cathchy

  • This is my 2nd favorite behind the credits music - I thought this game had the best credits music of the series. 3rd favorite from this game is Chargeman's... all 3 of those songs have a similar feel, title music as well.

  • @IAMRUSH101

no the best soundtrack in this game was the final boss theme, by far

  • @NibblesAndCasino final boss music was ok but it doesn't have the original mega man feel like they did in MM2 and MM3 The kick ass upbeat melody followed a feel of why Proto Man betrayed him makes it feel like an epic music.

  • @IAMRUSH101 Really you didn't like Gravity Man's music?? :(

  • @Yamigata Gravity man, stage music is one of the best in this game

  • @maxpublisher Gravity man was the best stage music in MM5 probably tieing with Charge Man because it was the most memorable and I sometime hum the tune once in the while.

  • @IAMRUSH101

Napalm Man stage is pretty good too!

  • @IAMRUSH101 Are you crazy? It's the best soundtrack out of all the Megaman games.

  • @IAMRUSH101 are you kidding? MM5 probably had the best music out of the first six games :/

  • @kitchenmaniac111 Nope; Mega Man 2

  • @A7xBrandonPwns ew mm2 had like 3 good songs and everything else was awful

  • love 0:37 - 0:56 part the most the rest was awesome too!

  • dude download '' free You Tube to MP3 Converter'' from google to get this!

  • One day this song was stuck in my head. :l

  • @AlphaDingDongX it must have been an epic day

  • @AlphaDingDongX Same here.

  • @AlphaDingDongX Change the :l into :[______)

I had it struck today too, so awesome :D

  • @AlphaDingDongX Ahh, it was for me, too. Glad I wasn't the only person who had that problem.

  • @AlphaDingDongX One week this song was stuck in my head XD lol.

  • @AlphaDingDongX ur lucky

  • how can i get this as an .mp3-file?

  • illegally

  • a shame...

  • some fuckers thumbed you down when they know it's true.

  • One way: get "not so fatso" Winamp plugin, get megaman 5 .NSF file from Zophar's domain, use WinAmp disk writer output.

There are other emulated music files from nearly all consoles. For the C64 I recommend .mp3 files from SOASC, SID chip analog filters are still badly emulated.

  • yargh, isn't there a way to get such a plugin to another music player? like wmp?

  • Try the Foobar2000 music player. I guess WMP and iTunes need to be unfriendly with other music formats because of DRM.

  • argh, i would be so ^____^ if i knew an easy way to get a good quality version of this theme, WITHOUT downloading multiple softwares and wrecking my nerves uninstalling and deleting them after getting the wanted theme
