1. Roberto Alagna?? 2. Fritz Wunderlich 3. Mario del Monaco 4. Placido Domingo 5. ??? 6. Joseph Schmidt 7. Sam Ramey 8. Joan Sutherland 9. Franco Corelli 10. Andrea Bocelli.... :P
I've just discovered this and sense that I'm in for hours racking my brains and rooting through my CD collection... thanks, Imogenn! :) (The humorous hints are fun too.) 1. Alagna (but without the hint wouldn't have picked up distinguishing marks through the baritone.) 2. Wunderlich! (wonderful indeed) 3. ? 4. Domingo 5. Hint suggests MDM to me 6. Gigli (????) 7. Ramey 8. ...I know I know this voice. 9. Corelli 10. Bocelli Do we get an answer key if we ask nicely? :)
1. Roberto Alagna 2. Fritz Wunderlich 3. Jussi Björling 4. Placido Domingo 5. Mario Del Monaco 6. Giovanni Martinelli 7. Samuel Ramey 8. Kirsten Flagstad 9. Franco Corelli 10. Andrea Bocelli Ran out of quizzes just now I'm beginning to get the knack.
1. Roberto Alagna...but popular at La Scala? 2. Fritz Wunderlich ( I cheated...no clue) 3. Mario Del Monaco 4. Placido Domingo 5. Alfred E. Newman (a little levity) 6. Beniamino Gigli?? Where's the final 'tu'
in 'Recondita armonia?' Probably not an Italian tenor without that 'tu.' 7. Samuel Ramey 8. Joan Sutherland 9. Franco Corelli
First of all Alagna is a tenor and the title role of Don Giovanni is a Baritone, and Deh Veini alla finestra is song by him...and the audio quality is to old sounding to Alagna...
Molto divertente, complimenti! 1. Non è un baritono è Alagna (magari dovrei dire "non è un tenore è solamente Alagna) 2. Wunderlich 3. Del Monaco 4. Domingo 5. Vezzani 6. Schmidt strano in italiano 7. Ramey un'ottimo Scarpia 8. Sutherland (senza denti?) 9. Corelli da vecchio 10. Bocelli... ammazza! Non avevo mai pensato... Interessante. Da dove viene questo documento?
5. Not long enough! But I think it's Vezzani. Longer & I'd get it 4 sure!
6. Schmidt?
7. Not in2 Baritones:(
8. Not in2 Sopranos either
9. Corelli...but he NEVER sang Otello!
10. Yes, famous but not much of an actual opera singer! It's funny, as I kept listening 2 it I was sayin' 2 myself: "Lots of Corelli mannerisms there". So it must B some1 who studied w/him. I got it! Bocelli:) Nice try Imogenn. Put only Tenors & I'll guess 'em all!
Thanks for the link! I feel honored by your invitation ;-) here my take: 1. sounds like Corelli out of his Fach, I don't like it much 2. Wunderlich, great! 3. Del Monaco I think 4. Domingo ;-), very good 5. never heard this singer before, I'm pretty sure of that 6. Joseph Schmidt, heavenly!! 7. Morris maybe? 8. Traubel maybe? 9. Corelli, when old 10. Corelli, when young I think, funny
1- Corelli 2- ? 3- Windgassen 4- Lorenz 5- ? 6- Caruso 7- James Morris 8- Flagstad 9- Corelli 10- ? You are cruel, but it is a good exercise in humility for us, I think I'm a dunce. :-)) And now I have a headache now, are you satisfied?
Does he have any others? I don't intend to be mean to a young singer, but he just seems to mimic Corelli's worst qualities instead of his best ones, leading to an unfortunate caricature of operatic singing. Corelli would be appalled...
I agree. Of course, I was joking in my other posts. However, I find this recording of Corelli (I believe it is him) so bad that it could be... you know who.
1. Alagna 2. Wunderlich 3. Del monaco 4. Domingo 5. 6. Carusso 7. Ramey 8. Joan Sutherland 9.Corelli 10. Andrea Bocelli IDK Let me know how i did i think i was close
1)maybe Alagna,2)the great Fritz W.,3)Del Monaco 4)Domingo 5)the great Cesare Vezzani(underrated) 6)Schmidt 7)Ramey with a wobble 8) Nilsson? 9)Corelli absolutely 10) I have no idea !
1. Alanga 2. Wunderlich 3.Peter something can't remember last name, German wagnerian, bit popular in 80's. not Schrier. 4.Domingo 5. James King 6.? 7. Ramey in slow LP player. 8.? 9. Corelli in slow LP player. 10. Bocelli, if it is, sound effect is very tricky.
I'll take a stab at the tenors. Since I can't really discern soprano voices unless they're someone like Ponselle! Or baritones unless they are VERY distinctive voices.

Your fondness for the turn of phrase is renowned, but those are not quizzes!
Those are TORTURE.
Those, Imo, are sin.
No 8 on Quizz 5 is that Swedish tenor, Juicy Buffalo Wing, and that's the only one I know...on both quizzes.

Post it on *that* quiz then, not this one :D
