I just saw them live last night. Words can't even describe how amazing it was. It was in a little theater with a small crowd. Israel got all the band members (from Blind Pilot and The Barr Brothers) to come off the stage into the crowd for the last song. He asked us to sing along, but not to record it or take pictures, just be with them in that moment. Then they played this song. Everyone in the crowd sang along. Absolutely incredible. I can cross seeing Blind Pilot off my bucket list now. :)

this is just one of those hauntingly beautiful bittersweet songs that i will probably never be able to forget. and i think that kind of matches the meaning of the song; it was their song and then it's past tense, 'this was our song.' it's over but you still remember them, you still see the light, and you loved them but it just wouldn't work. you'll always know them and what it was to be in love, not 'killed' like you were before.
