A shame that many of the other guys in jazz were womanizers, drunks, drug addicts and used foul language, none of which Clifton Brown did, and he ended up dying so young. Anyone who knows will tell you, this was one of the most well-mannered young men they ever met. I've never heard anyone say anything bad about him.
@speakwhnspkn2 Who cares? They sound great. I believe Wynton said himself, "Clifford never did no drugs or got drunk. He maybe smoked a joint every now and then, but you know, no real drugs." Just saying... womanizing is bad ok, but what they did with their personal lives doesnt affect their musicianship much obviously, so I dont know why people make such a point out of that.
@skiier860 That's his fucking name isn't it dumbass? What the fuck else should I call him? "Nigger" perhaps, like you probably call us under your breath motherfucker?
Clifford's technique and sound were just awesome. I can't help but wish he had lived longer so I could selfishly listen to more of his recordings. Brown got down.
He's absolutely the master of trumpeteers. Miles couldnt even get close, technique wise... His best solo is on Weedot, Art Blakey and the Jazzmessengers. Check it out!!
More than pure Genius, astounding. Perfect and fine, all together beautiful and awesome! Peaceful yet Chrashing waves of delight, spectacular! Holly and Good!! It is Good!
is this Him? I've not listened this session. I should find this record!
