You should say including G1, since it was before Beast Wars. G1 are harder to get ahold of. Some of the G1 stories were as goofy as The Beast Wars were. But many of the G1 stories also rocked.

No . . not a decent story line at all. If they'd stick to the freakin original story line it would be good. But no, they had to come from a dumb a** magic cube floating in space. Worst writing in a sci fi. Had they stuck to the original Quinteson story line , along with how they really came to earth.. that would have been much more dramatic. Quintesons are the aliens that created a slave race of robots, which rebelled against them "I-Robot" style. Those bots separated into 2 factions.

In a way..they did. If you read Defiance, you'd know that. Imo I love the new story they're doing with the movies, and I'm a longtime Transformers fan. (Since the Beast Wars Era Ive mostly kept up with Transformers, and Ive even taken looks at G1 which I like) In other news I will say this: I dont like most of the new characters in this one. What happened to the great designs of the first movie? oh well, at least it'll (hopefully) still be as a good or better a movie than the first

If you've only kept up since Beast Wars, but only taken a look at G1 . . then you haven't kept up with The Transformers :) You should find a way to buy or rent all the G1 eps, there are tons of story arcs in there that are very important . . that Bay & Orici along with the other wirters keep skipping over, causing these current movies to make no sense. They came from a magic cube floating in space? That's ridiculous.

No they didnt come from the Cube the Cube was like they power source of the planet. The cube is not Cybertron (there planet). Bumblebee Shot the cube away from the planet after Megatron tryed to Keep it for himself. You should watch the Prequel to Transformers. Its a Comic. Its on youtube with Voice actors and everything. Go see that to understand the story Behind the movie. its 5 parts.

Look up "Optimus Prime The Cube" and you'll hear his very clear opening speech where he explains that before time began there was the cube, it's the CREATOR of life and WORLDs. True. The movie did say they came from the cube. It would have been a lot better if they stuck to one of the 2 different stories from G1. They came from an Alien Race using them for slave bots. And that race were The Quintesons , who later appeared in Beast Wars and other Transformers shows I think. The comic book origin was from a huge god like robot named Primus. I liked the Quintesons better. But the CUBE is the movie explanation, which was just tupid. Good movie, bad story. WEIRD.

HootyHaHa is right. Prime said they came from the Cube. And I own those prequal comics DecoySteveO. They're not associated with the movie. They're written by different people who feel the same frustration HootyHaHa and others feel. That's why they wrote them, because there SHOULD HAVE been more complexity to the story. And yes, people should buy them to support more indepth stories unlike the Michael Bay movie gave us.

Those comics weren't part of the movie really. Even Don Murphy and Michael Bay don't claim them. Don Murphy hates IDW, he bashes them all the time on his board. Or he used to before the first movie was released. He stopped over time because he expressed his opinion. Don Murphy is the main producer of the movie.

Thanks for posting this. I really dig the visual and special effects appeal of these movies. You can say what you want about Michael Bay and these Transformers movies, but they're still being made by hard-working crews and look gorgeous.
