Steve Johnson clearly has a complete catch which was initially ruled complete but some judge with a horrible angle calls it incomplete. Bills challenge, Gene looks at in the replay booth, doesn't take much time to count his money....err....look a the replay then announces it was an incomplete catch.

@SuperVandehei It was a play where Pittsburgh lost the ball as they were about to scoure a TD. The runner fumbled, but initially it was called down by contact. Miami challenged and there was a fumble but Miami was not seen clearly recovering the ball, so Pittsburgh kept the ball at like the 1 and I think scored and Pittsburgh won the game because of it. I remember watching the highlights and I was pissed.

I watched many replays of the play from every camera angle available. Ben did dive for the ball after the fumble. If you deny that then you didn't watch sh... By every angle shown there was at least an equal chance a steeler had the ball. And if you ever played football you would know that if the ref says the plays dead. You move on to the next play. As I live in s Florida I am surrounded by those who feel like you and I sat them down and went over the play on my big screen the very next week

I guarantee if the Dolphins had fumbled the refs would have let the Steelers almighty legendary defense keep possession. They also wouldn't dig a thousand pages into the rule book to make sure that they're being "fair" about the call.

They followed the rules and clearly on the replay there was no evidence that Miami had regained the ball. The referees made the right call unfortunately for Miami. The angst is only because it was Pittsburgh that benefited.

@MuDmAsTeI2 the PRIMARY job of the ref's is to CLEARLY CONCLUDE who has the ball, no matter who blows the whistle. did you ever consider that the ref INCORRECTLY blew the whistle?! which he obviously did. the ball was OUT of ben's hands PRIOR to crossing the goal line, therefore, even though ONE of the ref's INCORRECTLY blew the whistle, it is still their job, and a high priority at that, to conclude who had recovered the ball, which they completely did not do. learn your sports faggot

And as they said, they couldn't conclude who had the ball, hence why the Steelers got possession. Simple fact is Ben fumbled, and they couldn't tell who got the ball. A lot of arguments for and against the call have been made since, and all i wanted to do was give my perspective, a MD fans' perspective on it. However i must say, that not only did ESPN say it was a bad call, but when Tony Sparano challenged the league about it, his case was won in that the ref's shouldn't of stopped the play

The reason why they couldn't find out who had the ball was because after they separated the pile on the field they weren't looking for the ball if it was a fumble because the call on the field was a touchdown. And because you can't see through people you can't assume who has the ball. Yeah that Miami player came out of the pile with it, but who's to say that he had it at the bottom of the pile initially gaining possession? That's why they couldn't give the ball to the Dolphins. Can't assume.

there was never any proof, Ben claimed he had a hold of the ball and the ref tapped him on the shoulder and told him let go it was a TD... while he had a Miami Player taking cheap shots at his arm in the pile. they can't give possession to Miami without proof. just like they couldnt give the recovered TD to the Steelers without proof. they made a good call in light of a bad situation the got themselves in.

That was totally fixed - that was a touchdown. He crossed the plane before the ball came out. Add Miami to the list of teams that look to the refs to bail them out. If they could have put the ball in the end zone more instead of kicking girl-goals, they would have blown out Pitt.
