@kwinder12 I believe you can install Vista on it, just need a copy of Windows Vista and an external CD Drive and/or a bootable device.

@Hazardteamck So far it has lasted a very long time and I have had this for several months and for my use, never had the battery drained to zero.

@MisterTwigster Negative. Even just editing standard definition video can be quite slow. It plays 720p good but anything above it would be very jerky. I would not recommend this for editing HD video.

hi. nice netbook! may i ask you something? i wonder if this 1005pe can be upgraded up to 2gb of ram. if it's possible, does it have an access port to reach the ram module or it will be necessary to open the entire chassis (like seen on the 1008ha)? another question... the screen is glossy? and the chassis (can't see clearly in the video, due to my low resolution monitor). I really thank you. bye :)

Yes it can be upgraded to 2 GB of RAM. On the bottom of the unit, there is a little trap door that you can use to take out the memory and put in a new one. Yes, the screen is glossy and the inside chassis as well which means they both will attract finger oil. But with the one I got, the top of the casing is like a rubber type finish, wish they would do that to the entire chassis of the unit. Anymore questions, please reply!

I have the 1005ha and I cannot stand windows 7 starter. I chose it over the cheaper xp one since I thought it was going to have a few more features but it turned out to have less features than xp but cost more. After upgrading to 7 professional it runs great. Is the pinetrail atom slower than the n270? I keep hearing that but im not exactly sure.

Yes I wish Windows 7 Starter had more features. I could not afford a Windows 7 Home or Professional edition netbook so I had to keep it simple. Windows 7 Starter is sufficent enough for me. All I use the netbook for is Web Browsing and email and some documents for my work. I don't use it that much.

I'm surprised Asus' latest offering doesn't come with a sleeve to keep the netbook in, considering the 1005HA did; its as if Asus have shot themselves in the foot by downgrading their Pinetrail equivalent! :(

I know too bad eh? I am pretty sure you can get a pretty good case for about $10 at your local computer store.
