@asabua why is it cheating that someone trys to ensure a good sound for their audience? i dont see that as cheating i see that as making your performance as best as possible.... do i use hairbands? no. i couldnt find any hairbands that fit good around my guitar neck so i just figured it out... if i could would i? hell yeah, it just gives me a better sound and thats my ultimate goal is to have a good sound

When did you become the governing body for what is Good or Bad and who appointed you the role of defining what cheating is? Guess u are not guitar player, cuz if u were u would think of that as i do, a freaking cheating, cuz that band is dampening all unwanted noise (insted of band u should use side of your right arm, but that takes time and practice to master...), if he played it without band it would prolly sound horrible, thats why its called cheating, cuz u are using something to get on the level you are really not on (techincally speaking).... P.S. Pardon my english, its not my native language...

@asabua I can appreciate your opinion, but music is artistic expression and the truth is there are no rules on how this is expressed. There is no standard defined on how to play an instrument. If we follow your logic the first people to use percussion on guitar or do two handed tapping violated the "defined standad" which makes them cheaters. Truth is there are no defined standards or set limitations to expressing music through any instrument.

I undersand your opinion but you need some informations to make a real opinion.

I play blues and rock music and I ever try to play on this guitars and is really bad quality, the sound is bad too, this guitars are really cheap and is really not guitars for professionals for beginner maybe it's okay.

I just can say that Inophis is a wizard to play like this and this s**t instruments, I hope for him a really professional guitar brand will come to work with him!

@asabua It would be cheating if it were a technical examination where string damping by external means is prohibited. But.... He's just putting on a show. The band is a great idea if there aren't any open strings. It's just another method of damping. You don't see pianists throwing themselves into the piano to damp the strings while they play. They use the damping pedals. Of course it's always better to not need the band and to have the option of open strings.

@DimiCOB absolutely. I as a bassist mostly play my bass without plugging it in at all. I want it buzz free and perfect set accents in every way...people say "you dont hear buzzes through amps" but I shit on that. Music is shit when only high tech can make you sound great. Im not dissing musicians that use effects, but I hate compressors, editors and correcting tools...

nope it isn't it's to reduce string noise, a lot of guitarists do it to get rid of excess noise usually during tapping or studio work.
