is it possible to have mesh sticking out of your bellybutton ? I pulled a stich out last week with a bit of oozing, but there is a white strand left and when pulled with tweezers feels like it goes deep . it has been seven weeks since surgry

omgg i hadd an umbilical hernia recovery , is it da same thing ! im only 14 yrs old n i had to get surgery woah ! its so hard to look bak and remember all da pain i went thru aftr da surgery i kudnt walk lol haha :) buhh im glad its now ovr ! :)

Lol i had 2 done, one on my right side and one on my left, and it is gross, lol i got mine sewn (or whatever) up, lol and i live in canda so mine was free, or i would have have to payed like 6 grand... lol god bless canada

I had a hernia surgery in my lower stomach using mesh a few years ago. It was from coughing. Lately it's been hurting badly when I sit up or cough, I need to get it checked out. I hope that i haven't severely damaged the muscle tissue now because I'd hate for this to be a reoccurring thing throughout my life, or to not be able to do things I wanna do.

Even in case of mesh repair, a recurrence can occour. In groin hernias the diagnosis will be detected with clinical inspection only. In case of a ventral hernia recurrence, a CT scan of the abdomen can help for a right diagnosis.

@GallowayJesse I think there was an inguinal nerve lesion. It's one of the most common complications.The bad thing about this is that sometimes another second intervention is needed in order to resolve the pain source.
