Hey Giggy, I have an [one] Advent speaker (the other one I fixed successfully), --- of the 80's baby Advents, and yes, the air suspension is GONE. Have the stuff to fix it, but I fucked up.

hey guys, i have some speakers that look like nothing is wrong with them but when i connect them no sound comes out from them. I've taken them out and replaced them in the working speaker box and still no sound. ive checked crossover but it works fine. so i know its not the crossover. any reasons why speaker would have no sound?
@texa5boi Sounds like the coil is fried. If you'd like a challenge, cut the cone and coil out and rebuild them with new parts. Re-cone kits are available on the web. I've also seen some shops that'll do it in the phone book.
@SpeakerFreak95 Sorry, I don't know. The guy we got these from had a warehouse full of pinball machines, video games and jukeboxes, so he didn't have time or interest in cool old PA equipment. If he couldn't make money selling it it got lost in one of the back rooms and ruined. Out of 16 drivers we only got the 8 needed to power up the columns. I have some audio files with voice being played through them. I'll see if I can find something worth posting.
@SpeakerFreak95 Yes. These came out of a ceiling fixture that spread the sound out through the whole room. The cabinet we put together was on of those column speakers with 4 drivers in a line.

@Vinylrecordsneverdie Some were from a 4x8 PA cabinet and the ones with tweeters were from a ceiling fixture that had 4 speakers.
